View Full Details of Winfield Lodge Residential HomeI have a very good impression of Windfield Lodge which I recently visited to see a friend for a full hour. The reception area was clean, warm and in good decorative order. The receptionists are warm, welcoming and kindly made me a cup of tea whilst I waited for my friend to finish lunch. My friends room and bathroom were large, clean and warm. The carers were very friendly and helpful and I understand that the home arranges variety events both in the home and trips outside. Security in the form of controlled access doors, looked very good & seemed designed to prevent unauthorised people from entering the home, and to protect residents from walking around aimlessly. Compliments to Winfield people.
I am very happy with the care and services provided but would like to see another lounge area provided. The present one is very limited for the number of lounge chairs needed. A conservatory added to the dining room would serve this purpose, providing a 'quiet' room. The broken sign for "Winfield" and the very bad state of the driveway for both drivers and walkers do not give a good impression. A further recommendation would be an open porch to the main door to protect visitors waiting to access the building.
I'm very happy with the care my father has been receiving. The staff are all very happy and friendly and always try to encourage my father to join in with any activities. It was a difficult decision for my family to put dad in to care but with the help and support of all the staff it has really eased our minds. I can only thank the staff for the amazing job they do.
I drove down to Winfield Lodge to wish my mother a 'Happy Bithday'. The staff were so kind and gentle with her. All the staff at Winfield seem calm and nothing is too much trouble. They were wonderful with mum on her birthday and really made her feel special.
When being admitted we were met by a lovely receptionist who made us very welcome. The carers are marvellous and the manager showed us around and took us to my husband's room. After a month my husband is totally settled in and very well looked after. Lots of activities in the afternoons if he wants to join in. I can honestly say that I'm very happy he's in this particular home. I have no worries at all as I know they are all looking after him amazingly well.
The general atmosphere of Winfield Lodge is both caring but relaxed. They make an effort to provide stimulating activities for the residents - e.g. taking them for pub lunches. They deal with residents in a sensitive manner - expressing respect at all times.
My sister has been at Winfield Lodge for 19 months during that time she has been treated very well as she has been very difficult at times. Mainly because of her dementia. I have been kept updated about her welfare at all times. Activities are excellent and residents are always encouraged to take part, I have also enjoyed these times as a visitor. Unfortunately my sister is near end of life. But still treated with dignity, keep up the good work.
My mum has been in this home for nearly two years and she is treated with the utmost care and respect. I am kept informed at all times, staff always make time to listen to any questions. Lots of activities in the afternoon and Mum loves her weekly appointment with the hairdresser.
Excellent care, a warm, safe, clean, cheerful environment. Plenty of well-trained, friendly staff are always on hand to assist. Food is good and plentiful. Fresh fruit always available. Activities in the day room. My father was comfortable, safe and well cared for during his 6-week respite stay.
My mother appears very content. She comments positively about the staff. I find the staff friendly and helpful.
As you can see from below, generally very happy with the care my sister receives. My main concern is difficulty, particularly at weekends in getting in and out of the lodge which is frustrating, to say the least. Also, the outside gardens around the lodge are seriously neglected which gives a bad impression on approaching. The baskets would be better removed or watered regularly.
The staff are all very kind, helpful and professional. My comments relating to the food reflect what my relative has told me.
My father has been in Winfield Lodge for nearly 2 years. Throughout he has received excellent and sympathetic care. He is always treated with dignity and I am kept informed about any issues and involved in the decision-making process relating to his care. The staff are always friendly and willing to answer any questions I have. I won't single anyone out because the whole team are obviously dedicated to the work they do.
My mum is very happy and well cared for. She is always encouraged to join in with all activities, which she does very willingly. The staff seem so caring and approachable and I feel all her needs are addressed. Thank you Winfield House for looking after my mum. I know she is well cared for and happy.
Excellent care. Staff are very friendly, caring and professional. Residents are encouraged not to stay in thier room. Excellent range of activities in and outside the home for all categories of residents. Relatives are treated with care and respect as well. My dad has been there for two years and has no regrets.
Staff all demonstrate a very high standard of care, professionalism and also personalised care at the same time. Clearly very well aligned to the same goals and treat all residents and visitors with dignity and respect as well as keeping relatives informed of relevant events. My mum has great confidence in the staff and the care provided. A warm, safe, clean, environment with a range of activities and reassuring attentiveness.
The care is of a very high standard and I am very pleased my mother is looked after with so much care and consideration for her needs. It is a lovely environment to visit and for my mother to spend time in. I am very appreciative of what all the staff do for my mother.
My mother has been a resident at Winfield Lodge for two years now. I was happy with the level of care at the start and I am also happy with the level of care to date. All the staff are caring and provide the sort of care that I would like to received and want. The whole team are worthy of mentions, such as the manager and senior care coordinator. There are many I would like to name, but only haven't because I do not have their details.
My husband moved into Winfield Lodge about eight months ago and he has settled in well. His room is a good size, always nice and warm, and he loves the view over the garden.
