View Full Details of PenhillPolite, friendly, and helpful staff throughout, amazing service, and couldn't ask for more. The staff show a high level of compassion and skill and I would strongly recommend them to anyone that is looking for a good care home for their loved ones.
We were recommended Penhill from a local GP friend, who said she would want to come here if she were ever in need of care. It is a small, caring and clean residential home, with kind staff who always offer me a cup of tea on arrival, to have with my friend. They have looked after my friend incredibly well and despite her needs increasing over the past two years, have gone the extra mile to accommodate her needs and make her feel like a real priority to them. Penhill has such a wonderful family feel to it, we knew almost immediately it was the right move for her, which was a huge relief, having moved someone who had lived in her own home until she was over 90. I feel totally confident they will look after her with the care and respect she deserves.
My friend has been in Penhill for over two years now. The staff are consistently kind and respectful. My friend (93 years) is treated with dignity. The staff staff always try to do the very best for my friend, they are genuinely fond of her. The food is excellent. The staff are approachable. I am so glad that my friend is in this residential home.
The staff are always very helpful and kind. Home immaculately clean and excellent food. Also, lovely gardens. They are looking after my mum very well. She is looking better than she has done for some years.
I visited my friend many times and each time was a very happy experience. I was always made to feel welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very friendly, and I was always offered a cup of tea. Penhill is a lovely care home.
Penhill is an excellent care home. My mum goes there for respite care and is very comfortable there. The staff are absolutely amazing and take great care of the residents and those visiting. The facilities are great and there are many daytime activities to get involved with as well as a hairdresser and chiropodist. The home is not like others I visited where it feels more like a hotel than a home. Rooms are very homely and residents are encouraged to bring along items to make them feel relaxed. I couldn't recommend Penhill enough although I would prefer they had a room available for Mum when she next goes to stay.
Dad has been at Penhill just over a year now. The staff are a great team always ready with a laugh. Dad enjoys the company and appreciates their care and respect. We live a long way off and can't visit every day so it's a great comfort to know that he is happy.
My aunt lives in Penhil. On 11th February, it was her 100th birthday, and Penhill gave her a wonderful party. I brought my 102-year-old father to his sister's party. We were made to be so welcome. It was like a family party at home. All the staff were so friendly, engaging and caring. On the way home, my father said he was so comforted that his sister was in such a warm and caring "real home".
My aunt has called Penhill home for nearly five years and recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Family and friends were warmly welcomed when we joined staff and fellow residents for her party. The staff have cared for my aunt through some very sad times with sympathy and compassion. I cannot praise the manager and his team, and they truly are a team, enough. Thier care cannot be bettered.
I attended my aunt's 100th birthday party. Whilst having visited the beautiful home before, it was overwhelming how wonderful the staff were. Party decorations and beautiful buffet supplied. All staff are attentive to everyone's needs, nothing too much trouble. A very inclusive home. All residents are happy, interacting with each other, staff and visitors. All residents - showing character and animation in their faces and beautifully cared for. Such an amazing place. Everywhere is clean and tidy with a 'real home' atmosphere. A credit to them all.
We attended the 100th birthday party of our aunt, a resident at Penhill. All the staff at Penhill couldn't have been more caring, helpful, and friendly. The afternoon was amazing, the residents all joined in and it was clear that this is a very caring, compassionate and well-run home.
I live on the other side of the world so it is so important that I feel confident that Mum is happy and cared for at Penhill. Whenever I get the chance to visit I am amazed at how the staff treat all residents as if they were family. The level of care is top notch and I feel Mum is genuinely loved by all staff at this home- it truly is a home. She enjoys the daily activities, the sense of connection and the fun, there is always some celebration to be prepared for. It is stimulating and keeps Mum on her toes. A big heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Penhill, you are amazing!
I went to Penhill for respite care, my first experience living in a residential home. I stayed for 4 weeks. It was good to get to know the carers. They were mostly very attentive although small things in my care were overlooked. The 'hands-on' manager and his assistants were extremely welcoming and helpful. I arrived in an apprehensive state but settled down into the routine. My room overlooked the garden, it was large and beautifully furnished. The standard of cleanliness was excellent. Well done Penhill!
We are fortunate to have such a lovely home here, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It is friendly, not too big, has good facilities and was well maintained. My relative was well cared for and I would be happy to stay there if the need arose.
My auntie recently passed away after being a resident of the care home since 2005. I would like to thank the staff and management over the years who have looked after my auntie with due diligence around care and dealing with her personal requirements and making her feel like one of the Penhill family. The care home was always very proactive in updating me about how she was and any medical issues while once a Lasting Power of Attorney was put in place the ease of receiving invoices and making payment were all made very easy by the care home admin team. I can thoroughly recommend Penhill residential care home to anyone needing care home specialists looking after family loved ones.
Penhill is a very welcoming, caring home. Many of the staff, and the manager in particular went out of their way to make sure Mum's needs were met (Mum couldn't praise the manager enough). Visitors to Mum were always welcome, and I was often offered cups of tea and was able to approach staff to discuss concerns. Mum and the family would be very happy for her to return to Penhill in the future if the need arises.
Always helpful and friendly and takes really good care of my mum she seems a happier person and very content since she entered the care home.
Mum moved to Penhill a few days ago after a long time in hospital. The decision of moving Mum into a home wasn’t easy but Penhill is so welcoming and their home is your home. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The manager went above and beyond to help us get Mum into Penhill and I am so grateful. They even bought Mum a moving-in gift, which was so lovely. In the few days Mum has been there my mind has been put at rest as I know she is being well cared for. I can’t fault this home at all. I even said I would be happy to move here in years to come. Thank you so much everyone at Penhill.
My mother died at Penhill in late December. The care she received was exceptional by loving supportive staff. Many of whom attended her funeral in February. They also helped provide refreshments and supported us as a family. On a recent return visit, whilst in Bristol, I was given a wonderful welcome and know I am still part of the Penhill family.
I’m not usually lost for words, but I cannot express how happy I am with the manager and his staff at Penhill. I can’t always get in to see my aunt as I don’t live locally and I have to rely on my family to bring me in, but I love the warm welcome I’m always greeted with and the food always smells amazing and I’m told it tastes just as good. I have been invited to stay for lunch on many occasions and on my next visit I just may. The home is like a real home-from-home experience, it’s spotlessly clean, all the staff know my name and they are always happy, positive and can’t do enough for my aunt. My aunt loves crafting and there is always something going on, last time I visited I sat with my aunt and we made bracelets, which I will cherish. I can’t recommend Penhill enough and I’ve told the staff I’m putting my name down when I can’t manage at home.
