View Full Details of Dewdown HouseI have nothing but the greatest respect for all the carers, nurses, staff and all the people involved in the running of Dewdown House. All the staff go that extra mile, are always happy with a smile when you visit, the cleanliness at Dewdown is above and beyond and the amount of activities the staff provide for the residents is absolutely excellent, this also includes many days out visiting various locations. The reason I'm giving Dewdown 10 out of 10 for their excellent service is because I was a carer for my mother for over many years and understand the hard work involved in caring for the elderly. If my mother has a problem I always get a phone call from one of the staff explaining what this is. I visited several care homes looking for a vacancy for my mother. Dewdown has been a godsend. I and my brothers are so appreciative of the excellent service they provide. Thank you so much.
The care provided is excellent. Everyone who works there is kind, considerate and caring for all the residents. You can see genuine love and concern for their welfare. Communication with us is brilliant. We are able to visit anytime. Our relative is very happy to be in their care.
I find the staff at Dewdown incredibly supportive and caring towards my mum. There is an air of kindness and genuine respect that is emulated by the staff which certainly helps to make mum's life easier. As a visitor, I'm treated as a welcome guest and feel included in a very open and warm home where staff work to provide activities and events to motivate the residents. Thank you for all you do, very much appreciated!
Dewdown House has a wonderful atmosphere where all residents and family are made welcome. The activities and care given by a superb team of staff have rejuvenated my mother's life, she has settled in straight away and is very happy. The restaurant is stunning and has lots of space with lovely food. The daily activities vary from jewellery making to sponsored walks with wheelchairs to musical activities and wheelchair bowling. There is also musical entertainment, a sitting room with a large TV and a quiet room to welcome guests which has wonderful views of the sea as the home is on Weston Super Mare seafront. The walls are decorated with seaside paintings and create a stimulating atmosphere and there is excellent security at the entrance.
I would highly recommend Dewdown House due to the caring, professional, attentive way my mother is looked after, nothing is too much trouble! The home is very clean and tidy and a lovely atmosphere every time I visit.
Although my mother was only at Dewdown House from April until her death in July the entire team were splendid. When she was still able she enjoyed their activities and trips out. Sadly as her illness progressed she became more and more reliant on the excellent care provided and when end-of-life care was needed the staff were wonderful and the care excellent. The family have no hesitation in recommending Dewdown House to anyone needing to find a care home.
Dewdown House is a wonderful care home run by the Salvation Army. The staff there are very caring and are always on hand for any queries or to provide any information needed. All staff are well trained and treat the residents like members of their own families. My mother has been cared for so well and it has helped me to know that she is in good hands.
It is always a worry for anyone who must move a loved one into a care home, so when we had to move Mum into Dewdown House we were nervous. It has been, and still is, a success. Caring friendly and approachable staff, easy access to Mum whenever, a broad selection of engaging activities. Mum soon felt at home. Her room is kept clean, staff go out of their way to make sure she is involved, she eats well and has even put on a little weight. We can sleep at night knowing that she is being well cared for in a safe and friendly environment. Thank you to all the management and staff of Dewdown. God bless.
Amazing staff the icing on the cake in this quality establishment. The care and love for the residents is so obvious, and I do wonder how the employees do it in what can be challenging at best. Well run by an accountable leadership, my Mum, although confused, is happy in the pleasant environment. A massive 5-star from me.
My sister has been at Dewdown House since October 2023. We have found the home very well organised and there is a clear line of communication between the home and relatives. I am the main contact for the home and my sister, they keep me informed of any changes or medical issues and always call me to let me know when she has fallen. I find all staff kind and caring, I'm pleased to have found a home as welcoming and professional, and I am confident that her needs are well provided for.
My mum has been a resident of Dewdown House for the last couple of years. Despite having quite advanced dementia, she is clearly very happy there and enjoys all aspects of her life. The staff are exceptionally caring and dedicated. They work very hard to provide a safe and positive environment with regular activities and plenty of support for the residents. I feel very confident that she is being well looked after and is safe at Dewdown. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dewdown House to other families.
Mum has been a resident at Dewdown House for five years now and is very happy and settled there. The manager and staff are very kind and ensure that my mother is well cared for in every respect. It has been very good to see pictures of Mum on Facebook as we have been unable to visit her for some time now. Thank you to you all and I would recommend Dewdown House as a good care home for elderly relatives.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff team at Dewdown House. They have provided excellent personalised care for my mother in the two years she has been living there. Nothing has been too much trouble and they go out of their way to make sure she gets the best possible care. She is now in bed permanently but they still manage to engage with her and give her activities that she can enjoy. I do not live locally but they keep me informed and up to date about everything. Staff are professional, caring and kind and the home is well run, clean and comfortable.
I have had the most extensive experience in my life-time, of the care over the years at Dewdown House. Starting with my Grandad who was so well looked after during his stay there. Sadly and unexpectedly my mother needed more help and support at a much younger age and it was her wishes to go to Dewdown House. Having seen the great care that my Grandfather received. My mum moved in, settled and all my worries, my fears and everything I was feeling emotionally about mum moving into residential care at a relatively young age these days lifted. The manager and all the staff were so kind and supportive and understanding of me and my feelings as well as mum. I can’t praise this home enough. The senior carers are so dedicated, and the carers, kitchen staff and housekeepers are all amazing and, the lady who interacts with entertainment and trips works hard to suit residents. I can honestly say my mum loved being at Dewdown House.
Dewdown House was the obvious choice for mum when she could no longer live at home 5 years ago. A long-standing member of the Salvation Army herself meant she preferred to move somewhere which shares her values. Dewdown has not let her down. Her care needs are met and the friendly staff give her the encouragement and support she requires. They have even gone beyond the regular support to enable her to keep connected with family members and family events. I am loving the Facebook page and the updates. I live a long way from the home so cannot visit as often as I would like but would like to thank everyone involved for helping us to sleep easy knowing mum is in good hands. Thank you all.
My uncle has been resident here for nearly three years. We are in constant touch as we live locally and are able to visit. We have an excellent relationship with the staff and I cannot conceive of my uncle being in a better environment.
