View Full Details of Gough HouseAll nurses make me feel welcome and were extremely helpful. I felt safe and cared for by the team, nothing was too much trouble. The residents were friendly when I went downstairs and joined them for lunch.
I went into Gough House for 4 days while my family were away I had a ground floor room off the dining room which was very convenient for me. I mostly took care of myself but the staff popped in all the time to see if I needed any help and support. The food was delicious and I had a choice of what I wanted. The entertainment was excellent and I really enjoyed the singer. The games were also very good, well organised. The staff were all at hand if I needed them, very polite and caring. I would be happy to go in again for respite if needed.
I have no complaints or criticism about my stay at Gough House only the highest praise for the lovely manager and all the lovely staff. Everyone was so kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble day or night, however busy they were. Visitors were always warmly welcomed at any time (other than meal times) and always offered tea coffee or biscuits. I would have no hesitation in recommending Gough House to anyone considering residential or respite care and would certainly return there again.
My husband has Alzheimer's disease and had been attending Gough House for some time as a day centre user and I have always been satisfied with the service given, he was really anxious about staying there overnight and I expected on my return to find him a bit down in the dumps, so it was a wonderful surprise to see him so happy and content. Gough House staff as always were so caring when I rang to get an update and reassured me that he was okay so much so he had been watching football in the evening with the staff. Food likes and dislikes were catered for and a full routine at home information was recorded and as much as possible implemented. I cannot speak highly enough about this home. If you live in the area and are looking for daycare or residential care please go and take a look around and you will find a happy comfortable place for your loved one to enjoy. Top marks Gough House and thank you so much for caring for my dear husband, I am so grateful to you all.
My mum is very happy in Gough House, the staff are excellent in the care of Mum and are also very happy to accommodate to Mum's dietary needs. The home itself is always spotlessly clean and tidy. Activities are arranged every day, which Mum enjoys.
A small but very friendly care home. My husband was in for respite while I had surgery. He was worried about it all but they soon put him at ease and I know he would want to go there again when I have a holiday.
My mother attended the day centre at Gough House for a little over a year. Her dementia meant she had become very attached to my father and the daycare enabled him to have a much-needed break. The staff were so caring, supporting our family as well as taking great care of Mum. The activities were excellent and varied, as were the meal options. The daycare co-ordindator in particular was amazing - born for the job and able to make my mum happy and comfortable at the daycare. Could not recommend more highly.
Fabulous setting. Super staff. My husband is happy to attend and other users also happy on arrival and they are still smiling at the end of the day. Staff are only too happy to chat about any concerns or issues that arise and are also concerned about my wellbeing. Superb value for money and my sanity.
Day Care (2 days per week) mean our lives are now balanced. Change of scene gives stimulation in the care of Alzheimer's.
Very caring staff. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother likes the staff and is happy with her care.
My mother-in-law, aged 98 and a half, was admitted to Gough House Care Home in March 2019. She had lived in her flat on the High Street for 20 years. Fiercely independent, managing on her own, with no care whatsoever. Illness in February meant her health deteriorated and she was in hospital for 3 weeks. Her son felt she could not be on her own any longer. With deteriorating eyesight, deafness, Gough Care Home kindly agreed to 'place' her. She is happy in her new home. Her room has been made cosy and homely. The staff are all particularly caring and treat her with dignity and respect. Cannot recommend this home enough.
Such a warm, caring atmosphere where my Mom is doted on. Each carer is kind, loving and very giving of time and energy. It is like a home from home.
My husband had very good care while in the care home. He was in for 2 weeks respite care after being discharged from hospital and I had to have a break as I had hurt my back. The staff were friendly and attentive. The home, though an old building, was comfortable.
The home is first class. The staff were first class. The home cooking really to my liking. I was very happy for the short time I was there but would not hesitate to go again.
The home and staff are welcoming when I visit, nothing is too much trouble for them. My father is well cared for and all his needs are met over and above what I expected.
This home is the nicest most caring home that can't do enough for any of its residents. The manager goes the extra mile to make sure that everyone gets the love and care they need and the staff are warm and friendly. Very impressed with their recent CQC.
Caring staff, nothing is too much trouble.
A big thank you to all the Staff at Gough House, Weston. We were in urgent need of respite care for my Mother. They were able to help at short notice and have looked after her really well. Big thanks
