View Full Details of Stuart HouseI cannot express how happy we are with the care being given to my mother. The carers at Stuart House go above and beyond to look after Mum and all the other residents and she is blissfully happy there and looked after 110%.
The carers are very good always polite and keep us informed of his health and wellbeing and any activities he takes part in. He is obviously being fed well as he has put on weight which is great to see.
The most caring, warm and engaging staff look after my mum as if she were their mum. I could not ask for more. I would recommend highly to anyone. Super activities and trips out that mum really enjoys. Home from home 10/10 from me.
What a wonderful caring home. The staff are absolutely wonderful, they give over 100% to the residents. It's very well run, lots for them to do. Went to the garden party and the food was wonderful, so well run. The staff couldn't do enough for residents, such a lovely afternoon seeing everyone enjoying themselves. Lovely young girl singing, mum really enjoyed it. It's spotlessly clean, rooms are lovely, bright and airy. The food is wonderful, all looks absolutely delicious. Visitors made very welcome, always offered tea and biscuits. It's very lovely to know Mum is being looked after so well—100%.
I love to visit as people are so lovely and friendly. The residents are always happy and smiling when I visit and it is nice to see. Warm and welcoming here.
My expereince has been very positive. The manager and staff are always accommodating not only to my mother but also to the family, which is very much appreciated as this has been a really difficult time for us as a family. I couldn't wish for a nice, caring home for my mother to be in. Thank you very much to you all.
So pleased my sister is in this home as she gets such good care and attention. All the staff are so caring and helpful.
My father was a resident in this home some years ago - when my mother needed a home due to frailty she insisted that this was the home for her. The home is quite small compared to others but this adds to the homely feel. Everybody knows everybody. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My mother seems to have settled in well - I am surprised by this as she was very reluctant to give up her apartment but I certainly think the move was for the best. I would definitely recommend this home to others.
My father is a resident at Stuart House and receives very good care. I'm always kept updated by the staff, who are very friendly. My father enjoys living there and is benefitting from their attentive care.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming. There is always a lively atmosphere in the lounge. My mother seems to be happy enough there, but it is hard for me to tell because my presence only reminds her of how things used to be and cannot be anymore. They say she is in good spirits when I'm not there, and after settling in, she is happy when I visit until I have to leave. Food is a difficult one to assess, because we ate very unprocessed and healthy food at home, but they become quite finicky at this age and I found it harder and harder to give her healthy food at home, so I think the food is as good as can be expected under the circumstances. It seems to be clean as far as I've noticed. There are many pictures on the walls and in folders, of the activities the residents have participated in. I have only heard good things from other parties (our GP, the Social Worker, the Surgery Nurse) about the home, which is reassuring.
My mother came to Stuart House following an emergency placement - From the moment we spoke to the staff we knew they cared. Not only for my mother but for us as a family trying to come to terms with the situation. We are extremely happy with the care given and the understanding of my mother's condition. The staff are never too busy to stop and update us on how things are going and have made a real effort to get to know my mother's likes and dislikes in order to help her settle in.
Stuart House has a homely feel to it, and the residents are made to feel at home. My dad was happy here, and I knew he was safe and being given the 24/7 support he needed. I can't comment on daily activities as I don't know about those, but something was always done for occasions like the Golden Jubilee and Easter and resident birthdays, and I occasionally got sent a photo of Dad taking part, which was lovely. And I know that Covid put a stop to some things like trips out. Staff appear to do their best for the residents and are mostly friendly, although under pressure at times due to understaffing which I appreciate isn't their fault. It's nice that there are some longer-term staff members providing familiarity to the residents. I am happy with how my dad was cared for here including when he passed away here; respect and dignity were apparent.
The staff at Stuart House Care Home are absolutely fantastic. Care home staff don’t get enough credit, especially after such a hard time with the pandemic. Always feel welcome when I come to visit. The manager has been great since my mother has been at the home, really hard when any loved one has to move into a home and she has always been there to chat with when needed.
The home is lovely and clean. All the staff are amazing. My mum is well looked after and very happy, which means a lot to me.
A nice welcoming home with friendly care staff. The food is generally of a good standard but some tea times could be improved. Would have no hesitation in recommending Stuart House to others.
My husband has been in this care home for 12 years. The care has always been excellent. He has been going downhill gradually and cant always recognises me. My last visit was on our 60th wedding anniversary, he was in bed as usual but was pleased to see me. I know he is in very good hands and I can visit whenever I want. Thank you, Stuart House.
There has been a great improvement in the standard of cleaning in the bedroom. Any issues brought to Stuart House's attention are dealt with promptly. The staff are polite and helpful. Sometimes items of clothes go missing, but when addressed, are dealt with. We are happy with the care home and the care and attention our family member receives.
My grandmother has resided at the care home for nearly a year. The staff are caring and considerate; they always keep us informed, and my grandmother appears happy and settled. She has a lovely room which is bright and large. My grandmother enjoys the activities.
My mother-in-law has been a resident in this facility for over five years and it has become impossible to stay silent any longer. On 8/10/20 my mother-in-law was vaccinated against my partner's wishes who has a lasting power of attorney. Fast forward to 20/4/21 we were informed by a member of staff that my mother-in-law was taken into the manager's office where a GP and the manager were waiting. The door was closed and the blinds shut. There is no documented record of this visit by the GP in her care home personal notes and the management have not contacted us to explain what went on behind closed doors and blinds. What went on is any ones guess as trusting the management to tell the truth is very hard at this point. It has also been stated that residents are now being taken for a walk on the promenade. Staff have told us the manager has said my mother-in-law is not allowed to be taken out. I would avoid this home if you wish to be part of the care for your loved one.
The staff are always friendly and polite and caring.
