View Full Details of Tilsley House Care HomeMum came to Tilsley House for respite care following a spell in hospital after a fall. Her stay in hospital had been particularly stressful and Mum hadn't slept well or wanted to eat during the time she was there. Tilsley House was the perfect haven for her after this experience. The managers of the home were confident that they could support her with improving her mobility and could give her the care and attention needed in order for her to recover her appetite and strength. She has a lovely room with an en-suite, which Mum was able to access independently quite soon after her arrival. All staff are very kind and there is a welcoming, friendly, family atmosphere to the home. I am impressed by the way they work together, whatever their role, for the benefit of the residents.
My Aunt became a permanent resident at Tilsley House in July this year. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years ago and her move to Tilsley House related to her advancing condition and her having falls. As a family we cannot emphasize the wonderful care our Aunt gets. All of the care workers are so kind and their experience shows. We are also impressed with the social activities they provide on a daily basis. Our Aunt has flourished, taking an active part in the activities and is now eating regular meals which she wasn't doing at home. The management are very visible and have been extremely helpful if we have needed to ask them anything about our Aunt's care. We would definitely recommend Tilsley House to anyone with a relative or friend who needs care.
Mum has been in Tilsley for 2.5 years and is 102 years old. She has a lovely room with an en-suite. Meals are lovely, with lots of tea/coffee throughout the day. The staff are very caring and Mum is very happy there. They always make us as a family very welcome. And keep us informed when she is unwell, although there are not many days when one of us is not visiting. We also have meetings with the nurse from the GP surgery who visits the home regularly. I would recommend Tilsley to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.
My uncle came to the care home straight from hospital following a fall. They did a great job of settling him in and making him feel safe despite his confusion. They made a real effort to get to know him and his interests. They were approachable and helpful with any concerns we had. I would have been happy to make this placement permanent however for convenience we moved him to a home closer to us. The activity coordinator was particularly lovely and helpful. They all do a great job in difficult circumstances.
My dad had passed away in January 2024, and Mum was in emergency accomodation. We had her with us for 3 days prior to my dad's funeral and I couldn't cope with her. So came to Tilsley House a day before she was due. I cannot fault the staff here. They are all so lovely and caring and very helpful. Lovely family vibes, Mum loves it here, I am so glad we chose Tilsley House.
Our Mum was admitted into Tilsley House in June, via Pathway-3 from hospital. We can't believe how lucky we are as it's such a wonderful place. She is now a permanent resident and says, 'I couldn't be in a better place'. The team at Tilsley are so very caring, professional and gentle. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Mum loves the food and the activities provide a great stimulation. The location is also perfect as we can borrow a chair to take Mum across to the park opposite or along the promenade which is just at the end of the road. Mum was always prone to dehydration but whilst she has been at Tilsley this has not been the case. We cannot thank the team enough for their care and attention - it's as though Mum has been given a new lease of life - which isn't bad at the age of 93! Thank you Tilsley House Team.
My dad lived at Tilsley House for nearly 2 years. He was very happy there and was very well cared for by all the amazing staff. He enjoyed daily life at Tilsley whether reading his paper, going for a walk over the park of listening to the visiting singer. Dad was always treated with dignity and kindness right until the end. Thank you Tilsley.
My dad moved into Tilsley House in August 2022. From the moment we arrived, Dad was made to feel very welcome. He soon settled in and was happy to go for a walk most days in Clarence Park. Towards the end of Dad's life after being in hospital for a number of weeks he longed to return to "his forever home" (Tilsley House). We cannot thank the management and all the staff enough during those last few days. They were so supportive and friendly and allowed us to visit Dad day and night. Thank you!
Mum moved into Tilsley House after living independently in her own home for 61 years, the staff were amazing so kind and caring making her feel so welcome. Mum was beginning to find everyday tasks increasingly difficult and the staff treated her with nothing but dignity and respect as they helped her navigate her new life. Sadly she was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease after a short time and we as a family with the support of the staff made the decision to keep her in Tilsley House. The kindness, care and love she received before her passing was outstanding and we as a family would like to thank the entire Tilsley House staff for everything they did for her and for us. Thank you.
My mother died in Hospital after an illness. The staff visited her and made a complaint when they found her distressed- the hospital tried to say someone was coming to change her but the care home staff did this. The hospital was unhelpful registering her death, despite the manager's efforts. Prior to this, they kept Mum safe from covid and cared for her. I live in Australia and they always made me feel part of the family that was looking after her. With the difficulties with the hospital and registering Mum's death, the manager and her team have gone above and beyond what they needed to do and what was expected of them. I cannot recommend Tilsley House enough. Thanks to every one of the staff.
My stepfather has just moved into Tilsley House and the staff are amazing - so very caring and friendly. They have made my stepdad's move so easy and he has settled in so well and loves it there. He still has his independence but is now in a safe environment and he thinks the staff are wonderful and the food is amazing.
My father spent fourteen months in Tilsley House, this was during covid, so a very difficult time as I was unable to visit to settle him. The staff soon made him settle and feel welcome. Throughout her time here, he was well cared for and also my needs as his daughter are acknowledged and supported. End of life care was exceptional and the staff could not have done more to make him comfortable, look after his family and explain the process, step by step to ease things for us. Thank you.
My grandad was a resident until he passed on 29/02/2022. The staff took care of my grandad extremely well and supported our family during his last few days. The end of life care they gave was respectful and compassionate. They allowed us to be with him 24 hours a day, providing us with emotional support and cups of tea. Special thanks to the staff who made Grandad's time here comfortable.
We couldn't wish for my sister to be anywhere else as lovely as Tilsley House. The staff are so lovely and kind. Our relative is treated like a queen. We are made to feel very welcome, every single time we visit. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff always have time, patience, kindness and fun to spare. Never change how this fabulous home is run.
In the main, fantastic staff, both helpful and friendly. Towels and washing changed daily. Food of good quality, served at regular times and good standard for such a large residence. You are made to feel welcome with a family feel. Entertainments such as art, cards, bingo or the odd quiz are both entertaining and a lot of fun. There is singing or mime for us tone-deaf bods. Some folk even have the odd dance or chair hand jive. I believe, for myself, the stay here has been very good and helped me to heal, ready for home.
My dad really likes living in the home and said all the carers and the manager are so friendly and said the food is always good at food time. He really likes his room and it is always clean. They help him whenever he needs them to.
Seeing my Grandmother through 2021 has always been safe and friendly. I have not had any issues booking or seeing my grandmother. She is always happy with the staff and they are all friendly and loving towards her. I am very thankful that they have taken care of her so well throughout the pandemic.
The staff are invariably cheerful and helpful and the premises are light and airy and very clean. The kitchen is impressive and I am told that the meals are excellent. The south-facing wall of the large sitting room has wall to ceiling windows which overlook an attractive garden which includes several small trees. I am sure that this has a beneficial effect.
Two ladies made the visit to my mother really comfortable and ensured we had everything we wanted. They followed up with an email to arrange a further visit for me. I look forward to my next visit in July.
Happy with the care my mother gets, especially as she can be "difficult". Also was told when the moved in the bath would be fixed - 2-year on, it has not been fixed, she prefers a bath to a shower.
