View Full Details of The Gables Residential Care HomeNothing is too much trouble at this home. The staff and care provided is excellent. It's like a 5-star hotel with benefits.
My mother has been at The Gables for over 3 years. Despite the difficulties that come with a dementia diagnosis, I feel she is settled and happy there. The home is extremely welcoming, always, whatever time of day I visit. The staff are very approachable and are keen to help in any way they can, fulfilling requests whenever they can. There's always a smile.
My mum has been at The Gables for just over 18 months now, she is really happy and content and also safer with everything. The family that visit are always welcomed like family. The manager and her hard working team are very friendly, professional and nothing is too much trouble.
After having a hip operation I was advised to have respite care at the Gables in Hanham. I stayed there for 1 month. In fact, it was like 'home from home'. Manageress and all her staff were so helpful and all cheerful. Food was excellent, fresh veggies every day and deserts were most enjoyable, 6 in all to choose from. Plenty of activities for the residents (ideal for mind stimulation) every week. Washing was also dealt with when required (clothes). Nothing was any trouble - they would do their best for your requirements. I know I wouldn't have recovered on my own so well without the excellent surgeon and the support and care at the Gables residential home.
My wife died and I was alone, so I tried different homes and I moved here and it was perfect for me. I get on well with staff and other residents, food is just marvellous and the entertainment is very good. I now feel as happy as I am ever going to be and I want other men that are like me to know there are good places. Thank you.
Since my mother entered The Gables in June 2017 following a fall she has had exemplary supportive care. Super home cooked food. Staff go the extra mile to ensure that my mother is happy, healthy and mentally stimulated. The whole home is very clean. Laundry is done and promptly returned.
I have been at The Gables Residential Care Home for two years and whenever I've needed a Doctor or hospital visit I know I can rely on the manager for lots of help and advice. The older staff are the same. Others need advice from these and rightly so. I am more than pleased with all the staff who always know what further extra tablets etc are given to me and why.
I live at The Gables. I moved here as I am on my own with no children, and could not manage at home. I am 84. I love this place. I can come and go as I please. Lovely food and nothing is too much trouble. Staff are always there to help me. I love it. It's so wonderful. My brother visits - he loves it. It's a home from home. So glad I found it.
Dad has been at The Gables for 6 months and I couldn't be more satisfied. The home is tastefully decorated, clean and warm. The grounds are pleasant and well maintained. All the staff are caring, kind and understanding and I have every confidence Dad is well looked after and that his physical and emotional needs are met. The Gables always strive to provide both mental and physical stimulation with varied social activities. They welcome feedback and suggestions and continually look to improve. Family and friends are kept fully informed. I always feel that they are doing their very best to support me over what has been a very difficult time. I can't thank them enough.
I love this home did not want to come here but glad I did. Food is wonderful you can have anything you want. I walk in the wonderful gardens every day I love it. Staff are lovely so is the manager couldn't be more helpful.
My Mother was lucky to be a resident at the Gables for a 2 year 6 month period before taking ill and eventually passing away in March 2016. Mum loved the Gables so much that our small family agreed it was the finest time in her life. She was so cared for in so many ways, not just health and well being but the love, kindness and laughter the staff showed to her was second to none. The home is spotless, rooms cleaned every day, the food was a joy and the entertainment they put on for the residents is simply amazing. Nothing was ever a problem for the staff, it's just a wonderful place with wonderful people!!!!
A stunning, warm and friendly home where nothing is too much trouble. Unlike some homes I have visited, there is no "smell" except for the smell of home baking! The staff are professional but friendly and treat the residents and their families like their own. There is always activities for the residents to participate in and Christmas is a never-ending month of family events.
Gables is more than excellent. If you need a Dr the Dr calls within a day. If you needed to go to hospital everything is done to make you comfortable about it. The staff on duty make sure that ambulances are called, knows the reason and how poorly the patient is when called in an emergency night or day. I have been sent to hospital twice both with angina and the second time for a lung infection where I stayed for 6 nights and could not wait to get home to Gables.
I am a resident and have been for 7 years. I could consider this place as my home and the staff and manager are wonderful. They all treat us with respect. I don't know what I would have done if it had not been for 'Gables Residential Care Home' I was lost before I came here. They helped me.
The home has a very welcoming atmosphere and is light, bright and airy! (and no smells!) Always fresh flowers - fresh fruit - and a caring atmosphere. The manager is always available and nothing is too much trouble. The turnover of staff is very low and it appears to be a real team! Above all my mum is very happy! She decided with another resident - it was the next best thing to living at home independently. Food is lovely and plentiful, furnishings great, a real home from home and exceptional care.
Mum has settled in well and is happy at the Gables. The staff are very friendly and helpful. She has a lovely room and enjoys looking out onto the garden. She is making friends with other residents and staff. Although at first not keen to participate in the many activities she is starting to enjoy some of these now as well.
Our mum has been living at The Gables for two months. In that time we have seen her settle and relax and become more like 'our mum; again. The home has a very homely feel to it, where the staff remain professional and friendly and an atmosphere of trust, happiness and real caring is fostered. Nothing is too much trouble and as a result the residents and staff remain cheerful. It is a real treat to visit her! and a real comfort to know she is happy, safe and enjoying life again.
Mum has been happily living at The Gables for three years. She enjoys the many activities that take place and has surprised us with her keep fit routines. The staff are welcoming and supportive, understanding the needs of the relatives as well as the residents. Mum is well cared for in body and mind, in comfortable, homely surroundings. Any queries we may have are dealt with in a thoughtful and positive way.
Since my brother began his care at Gables the transformation in him has been very noticeable. Regular care and medications have seen him put on some of the weight previously lost and his general well bring has really improved. The Management and staff at the Gables are first class with really good food and comfort of rooms provided. There is a general "feel good factor" about the place with great care and understanding shown and given to all the residents. My sister and I thoroughly recommend this home.
