View Full Details of Courtlands Care HomeMy close friend is a resident in this home, I visit weekly and find the care and compassion of all staff to be excellent. The care the resident receives is excellent. I am her advocate under the DOLS initiative and in this role I am kept fully aware of all aspects of her care plan. The home and facilities are excellent and cleanliness and hygiene is to the highest standard. The nutrition/food is of the highest standard. The residents are continually stimulated with numerous varied activities. I would recommend this care home to others.
Courtlands Care Home is a bright and cheerful place. I visit my friend, who is a resident at Courtlands, every week. I am always greeted by friendly and happy staff, and nothing is ever too much trouble. The home is always kept clean and tidy. The afternoon cakes always look delightful, and there's always plenty to choose from. Whenever I have wanted to discuss anything with the senior staff, they have been very knowledgeable about my friend's needs and always keep me informed of any changes or concerns they may have.
I visit my dad as regularly as possible and he seems very settled and at peace at Courtlands Care Home since his move in May 2024. All the staff are always attentive and very efficient and I am pleased that dad is in a comfortable setting. I would like dad to be able to go out on excursions when the weather permits. Overall a beautiful home.
My father moved into Courtlands in late May 2024, and since being in the home I have seen a marked improvement in his general health and well-being. The staff are friendly, efficient and nothing is too much trouble. Courtlands has a lovely atmosphere and I am happy my father is being properly cared for. Dad would like to have more trips out if possible, as he enjoys a change of scenery (hence why the satisfactory activities score).
The home is a happy, clean, and caring environment. The staff appears very happy in their work, making time to constantly talk too or walk with the resident. The residents seem very happy and well cared for. There is a good variety if entertainment and activities.
We have recently visited my Nan for the first time at Courtlands. The care home has an incredibly welcoming and positive energy which is treated by the friendly and helpful staff who seem to go above and beyond in every way possible to ensure the comfort of their residents, as well as any visitors. Our family feels comforted that my Nan is so well looked after by such an upbeat and encouraging team of staff, and we are reassured after conversations with my Nan that Courtlands is a brilliant place for her to be. Thank you.
A very caring and safe environment for my Mother. They are very good at picking up things and getting them checked out promptly. The staff always have time to sit and talk to the residents and ensure their well-being is prioritised. They are very good at keeping me informed of Mums well being and any concerns they may have.
Courtlands was the third home we visited and within minutes we knew it was the only one we wanted Mum to live in. It is bright, spacious, spotlessly clean and smells fresh. The secure garden is beautiful. But the team that makes it tick really are what it’s all about. Every time we visit, regardless of who greets us at the door, they know where Mum is and how she is. More often than not that is in the lounge being entertained by the activities coordinator. The senior team has managed the transition into residential with tact and compassion. We have agreed on a Care Plan collaboratively and a clever app allows the staff to share Mum’s daily well-being with us in real time. GP, dental, podiatry, hairdressing; everything is now managed in-house by Courtlands. Mum enjoys the food, can decide whether she wants company or not and is treated by everyone with total respect and dignity. To know mum is safe and happy also means that we can live our lives too – even go away together! Thank you.
I have now been in Courtlands for a year now and it has been a very positive experience. All the staff have been kind, caring, friendly and professional. My room is kept very clean and the laundry service is immaculate. The food is good and imaginative. When I needed outside medical care this was quickly dealt with. My room is lovely and I have personal items that make it feel like home. In summary, all is well organized with any requests quickly dealt with, it is like living in a big kind family group.
My mother passed away last week after being at Courtlands Care Home since April 2021. Her care during that time was exemplary. As her health gradually declined her care was adjusted very carefully to meet all her needs and to keep her as comfortable and pain-free as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend her wonderful team of carers to anyone.
We cannot recommend Courtlands Care Home highly enough. As we are sure is the case for all families deciding that a loved one needs to go into care, it was a tough decision and we visited many homes before selecting Courtlands for our mum. Little did we know at the time how right that decision was. Courtlands is a well-run, immaculate care home, which is kept spotless by the housekeeping team. The care staff really care and looked after Mum superbly. They provided exactly the right amount of support for Mum and for the family, managing our anxiety with regular communication and supporting Mum with kindness and good humour. The Courtlands team are truly special and we thank them for everything they have done for our family.
I have visited Courtlands Care Home many times now and my review gives this home five stars both for staff who care for your loved ones/cleanliness/friendship to both residents and their families. The gardens which you may sit in are private, there is a lift to the second floor should you require it, each single room has its own shower and WC. This care home to me is first-class. Five-star.
As a family, we were relieved a room was available at Courtlands Care Home when Dad needed it. He liked the setting and friendly atmosphere and settled into a new environment and routine quickly. The carers are friendly and cheerful and enable Dad to choose how he spends his days. Dad enjoys the internet provision in his room and this helps keep us all connected. Dad enjoys sitting in the garden and we usually visit him in the summerhouse so he can have a change of scenery. Courtlands worked really hard during the pandemic to maintain the residents' safety by strictly following protocols. The summerhouse was upgraded to provide safe visiting. There's a constant upgrading of facilities and equipment. Staffing levels are good with training and wage increases under constant review. Solar panels and a biomass boiler keep energy costs down. I receive email updates and am always greeted cheerfully when I phone or visit. It's a relief that Dad is compassionately cared for in a pleasant home.
My father (aged 95) has now been a resident at Courtlands Care Home for over six months. During that time he has transformed. He is happier and more relaxed and at peace with himself than I have seen him for a number of years. I have no doubt that the reason for this is the quality of care he has received at Courtlands. In particular, the relationships he has with the staff and the genuine commitment to the home as an institution in offering the best they can in quality of the service offered to the residents are the principal factors in bringing about this change. They are reflected in so many small day to day details that they are too numerous to mention. Both my father and I are profoundly grateful to the staff and management of Courtlands for what we have found there. My father repeatedly tells me how lucky he is (an amazing change in attitude in itself). I wholeheartedly agree with him and I am so glad that he recognises it too.
I've been visiting Courtlands Care Home regularly for the last 4-5 years. During that time I found it to be a very well-run and caring environment. The staff are invariably friendly, cheerful, warm and caring, with a professional approach throughout. Social/communal activities (pre-covid) were varied and interesting, the lovely garden provides opportunity for outdoor exercise (including a bit of weeding the flowerpots!). The home-cooked food, with a good choice of meals on the menu, is nourishing and delicious. In the difficult times of Covid, with constantly changing government rules and regulations, the management and team were exceptionally well organized, keeping the residents safe while still providing opportunities for visits in the converted summer house. All in all, nothing is too much for them, excelling in every respect, and I can highly recommend Courtlands Care Home.
Courtlands Care Home staff have got to know Mum really well and I have no doubt that she is well cared for. They have a great, professional relationship with the local GP practice so I know all her medical needs are met too. Being able to access the 'Nourish' site enables us to stay informed with her day-to-day care and reassures us that she is well looked after. Staff respond to our questions or concerns and are quick to sort out any minor issues. Their management during covid has meant whilst visits have been harder, especially during lockdowns, we have still been able to see her whenever we could and staff have been great at enabling us to do so whilst still following guidelines. Their outdoor garden and surrounding area makes this much easier and indeed the garden is one reason why we picked the home for Mum - she loves being outside. I'd be very happy to recommend the care home to other families.
The care and attention that is and has been paid to my mother whilst at Courtlands Care Home has been outstanding. Very professional with a huge amount of kindness. In turn, I am able to relax with the knowledge that she is being looked after well.
Mum has a lovely room overlooking the garden area. Mum is well cared for by all the staff members who treat her with respect and care for her demanding needs due to her illness (dementia). I take great comfort in knowing that she lives safely in Courtlands Care Home. I happily recommend Courtlands to all who need their loved ones to be kept safe, well and care for.
At 95 had dealings with a number of homes. Management very good, staff best yet. Plenty of space to sit (more than most homes). Requests are done without delay or fuss. One of the better homes.
My cousin was deeply distressed at having to go into a care home. Courtlands Care Home staff have been wonderful. Very kind and respectful and she is now very happy and values the staff so much. The home is clean, very comfortable and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend Courtlands highly enough.
