I can't fault the staff with their care for my elderly aunt who is bedridden and almost blind. I'm sure at times she can be very awkward, but I know she is looked after.
I know Mum is very well cared for and safe in her environment. She has a variety of meals and a good choice of different food and drinks. The staff know her well and how she likes different things. She enjoys taking part in the activities.
This is a great home. My mum says it feels like a family atmosphere, mainly due to the lovely staff. The room she has is just right - a nice bed, a wet room and a comfy chair with a nice view from the window. She enjoys the food although she can be quite particular so I guess it’s quite a challenge for the chef! The cost is very reasonable, especially comparing it with someone coming into a house to look after my mum. She’s been out on a bus trip arranged by the home and also a wheelchair tour in the local shopping area. My mum is often in pain but the carers are always looking for ways to ease the pain. They are so caring. I would be very happy to spend my last few years in this home.
My mother moved in a few months ago, staff were helpful ensuring she settled in. She has dementia so it is important she is not left to sit alone. There is a marked improvement already, she has humour again and is more sociable. She is happy, there is always something going on. Thank you and would highly recommend it.
I had a great advantage over most residents arriving here as a local methodist. I had been fully aware of Longholme since it was opened in 1969, and over the years, I have attended services and functions and visited several residents. My overall impression since coming here in April 2021 has been of very caring and approachable staff at all levels. This, more than any other factor, has made me a contended person.
A wonderful care home built on trust, hard work and commitment. This all transpires from the top. Staff are valued and are always willing to help in any way they can. They go over and above their required work role. Sometimes there appears to be a shortage of staff but this is probably due to holidays being taken - I don't know. I feel my mum is very well cared for and very safe.
The staff at Langholme always go above and beyond to help their residents. Plenty of activities and lovely music to entertain everyone. The food is tasty and healthy too.
Building is well-maintained. Staff are good, management, carers, everyone who works there.
My mother moved to Langholme after living in another care home. That home was adequate but Langholme is so much better. Her room is lovely; the standard of cleanliness is excellent; I haven't met a member of the team who I haven't liked; activities are arranged for most days and the residents are given the opportunity to go out in the mini-bus regularly. I love that there are two floors - dementia/non-dementia so that residents without dementia get time away from the sometimes more disruptive residents, however they all meet for entertainment. I can't really rate the home highly enough. I'm so happy my mum is there.
My mum moved in, in March. This was a new experience for both her and the rest of our family. Not only does mum receive excellent care I really feel we as relatives receive equal care. I am so grateful to everyone. Mum's room was freshly painted as I said she wouldn't like the blue walls. Every request was accommodated to help mum settle in. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable and chatted with mum. I know we made the right choice.
We have been delighted with the standard of care at Langholme. Staff have been excellent through the trying time of Covid.
This home provides love and care that is second to none. After almost a year my feelings have not changed. The kindness shown to me personally is something I truly appreciate.
Due to mum’s struggle with Dementia and Alzheimers, she has now lived at Langholme for 12 months and I have been very happy with the care that she receives. The carers, nursing staff and management are all very professional, but most importantly they are very friendly and kind. Langholme feels like a home from home, it has a lovely community feel and they certainly seem to go above and beyond to help their residents live the best life they can. The entertainment, gardens, communal areas and rooms are wonderful and as a relative, I can’t put into words what a relief it is to see mum settled into such a lovely place.
My father is a resident of Langholme. I find them a helpful and caring place for him to live. He has dementia, and as such, they need to take special notice of his needs as they change all the time. Whilst this is a lot of money, I think it offers a good value compared to others. I would recommend them.
My dad seemed to be losing his mind and lost the will to live in his last care home but since being at Langhome he is much happier and back to his old self regaining lost brain cells and humour. I can't find fault with Langholme it feels like a big family home with a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff are so kind and friendly and always have plenty of time for family and residents, nothing seems to be a problem for them. The food is great and the gardens are beautiful and peaceful.
I have found the management very pleasant to talk to and they are always willing to listen to any concerns. The staff always seem to be cheerful and take great delight in caring for the residents. I am very happy for her to be living here.
My friend has been a resident for around one year, He is happy he enjoys the assorted activities and loves the interaction with all the staff. Langholme have kind, gentle staff that have given my friend just what he needed. He is looking very well and tells me every day how happy he is. Thank you for enhancing my friend's day. You all do an amazing job.
I have been a resident here since April 2021. Over the years I had visited many times as a visitor or to fetes and services I am a Methodist and know two of the residents already. Since then I have felt very much at home here despite periods of quarantine. I have times of depression which I have been prone to for years but this has been shorted lived greatly helped by the care and understanding of the staff. The staff have been so helpful in regarding Langholme as my home after 75 years of residence in the Ponsanooth area
Langholme has provided a secure and caring environment for my aunt. Over the last two difficult years, they have remained consistent and professional. Whilst I understand the constraints and restrictions, it would be nice if there were more simple activities, both mental and physical. Overall, I am very happy with Langholme - staff and premises.
Our family is so pleased to have found such a safe and caring place for my wife. Following a couple of weeks to properly assess her needs, those needs are very well provided for meaning my wife is happy, well cared for and feels secure. Staff, from senior management to the newest recruit are most solicitous and always ready with support.
