View Full Details of Penberthy Residential Care HomeMy mum has been a resident for a number of years now. She says she likes the staff there. When mum is having a bad day the staff seem very understanding. A GP is called when needed, chiropodist etc. There's a very pleasant atmosphere at the home. Mum enjoys the singing entertainment and having her hair done. Overall management and staff do a very good job in field of work that isn't easy.
The staff seemed very pleasant, made us a drink and biscuits when we arrived. The lady we visited looked well looked after and seemed to have a good relationship with the staff. The room was very nice, although would have been nice if she had an ensuite shower. Unable to comment on activities, facilities, value for money or management.
The home itself (building) could do with a lick of paint but the staff are amazing. The staff are always friendly, helpful and kind. I feel happy that my Mum is being looked after and cared for in a safe environment.
Do not under any circumstances have any member of your family admitted to this home. We love, adore our mum and wanted the best for her. We were assured she would be looked after. Sadly the opposite. After getting safeguarding involved thankfully she is now having showers but her weight still dropping drastically and still not hoisted properly into bed or chair dependent on staff working. So many times we've arrived and wet through and hanging off the edge of the chair. Given overdose of tablets, sat with no teeth in. Nobody even noticed (mum is so particular about this! Arrived one morning, Mum covered in snot distressed. The team leader oblivious, sat eating her breakfast, even when pointing this is out said I've just wiped her nose, no tissues anywhere and then got a blue roll out of kitchen! So many incidents, heartbreaking. Last incident left in a wheelchair on her own in her room and fell. Heartbroken, all we want is for our mum to be safe and looked after.
Fundraising day. Very welcoming from staff. Manager was brilliant with guests, residents and staff. She is very knowledgeable but with a warm sense of humour, lovely personality. Staff seemed very attentive to residents' needs. Lovely day.
I always love visiting my cousin at Penberthy. The staff are always lovely and polite and my cousin seems very content there. I can always smell a beautiful smell from the kitchen, always makes me hungry.
All the staff are friendly and very helpful. Very understanding and keep in contact with me with any little thing that involves my mum. I'm happy with the care the staff gives my mum, she is very settled and happy at Penberthy.
The home was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Atmosphere was very festive. Staff very friendly and welcoming. My friend who I was visiting told me the carers are lovely. I left as tea was being served, and it looked lovely.
I feel very happy about my mum staying at Penberthy. All the staff are very lovely, and she is well looked after. I see they have a new activities lady working here, and found my mum seems to be interacting a lot more with everything since she started.
I regularly visit Penberthy and find the staff to be helpful and supportive of residents and visitors alike. I'm always treated with professionalism and a smile.
Very friendly and polite staff. Accommodate visitors with ease. Residents are well looked after and attended to promptly.
Penberthy House has provided such relief to my father's family. We are assured he is being looked after by such a wonderful team. They are always accommodating on my visits, making it feel like a home away from home. Over the time he has been there, the staff have always been so welcoming and talkative and it's been a pleasure getting to know each one. It really assures me that he's being looked after by caring, emphatic and passionate individuals that have a good sense of humour. It has given me peace of mind.
The care that my parents are receiving at Penberthy House is excellent. All the carers are professional kind and caring. They keep us well informed of any medical issues, concerns or changes and are always polite and helpful. My brother and I are much happier in the knowledge that my parents are safe and well cared for by such lovely people.
Impressed by the care shown by staff to residents and to visitors.
All the staff at Penberthy House, Newquay (administrators and carers and female and male) are very professional. I have never seen they show anything other than care and kindness towards the residents, even though some, on occasions, may try the patience of a saint. My wife who is a resident has dementia and I can no longer care for her on my own. As she has to be in a nursing home, I couldn't wish for a better place.
When I first took my wife to the care home in February 2017 I did not think she would like it. I was amazed the next day as it was plain to see that she was enjoying herself. The staff (without exception) have been wonderful and many thanks for all the exceptional care that they have given to my wife over these few months that she has been there. I don't think I can say more. Thank you all of you for your help and care that you have given to my wife over these few months. I will try to call in to see you all from time to time. Sincere thanks to you all for your caring manner.
Very caring staff and great food. Very clean with great views. The staff are worth their weight in gold, couldn't ask for a better place or staff.
Staff extremely friendly and always made welcome at any time. Residents always clean and happy. Pleasant atmosphere.
I find the home warm and friendly. The staff are caring and helpful at all times and treat my wife with respect and care.
Mum has been at Penberthy House now for 5 months after moving from another care home. The care that is given here far exceeds that what mum was given at the previous home. The staff are always polite and responsive to any questions I might have. I can tell by mums attitude when I visit that she is happy here, and likes the staff. The staff are quick to inform me if mum is unwell and what they are doing to resolve it.
