View Full Details of Redannick Residential and Nursing HomeVisited my friend in Redannick, I have to say they were so welcoming the staff were friendly and the home looked clean. But mostly my friend looked the best I had seen him in over eight years. He looked happy and healthy. Thank you Redannick.
My mother-in-law is so happy and well cared for at Redannick Residential and Nursing Home. She has dementia and was struggling at home, so my husband's family made the reluctant decision to look for a suitable care home for her. Now that she is settled, we realise how happy she is, and how well she looks, and wonder why we were so hesitant! The staff are friendly and caring and it's such a relief to not have to worry about her being on her own any more. There is another lady she has become great friends with, and it's wonderful to see them chatting and laughing together and joining in with the activities.
Early days for us but we moved my mother-in-law into Redannick Residential and Nursing Home in Truro this week after great communication from the manager and her team's help, we secured a room for my mother-in-law. It is always a worry about the person's reaction as she has dementia but three members of staff all introduced themselves, brought us a cup of tea and showed us to her room. Straight away she smiled and said how nice it was and even a view of the cathedral, it is perfect. They got a cheese sandwich with tomato sauce as requested and a huge bowl of ice cream. My mother-in-law was happily tucking in when we left and any concerns vanished with such a wonderful welcome. I can see this as the start of a warm and kind relationship thank you. 5 star home and staff.
All staff, from management to catering personnel are very very helpful, caring and nothing is too much trouble, we are always made welcome when we visit.
My dad is really happy every time we pop in for a visit, it's a joy to see him happy, the staff are friendly and kind, they always welcome us with updates on dad. The staff member who organises the activities has been amazing in encouraging dad to enjoy more activities in the main lounge. We all want to say a big thank you for all your care and kindness!
Mother always says washing goes missing, although labelled. Not 100% happy with the quality of the food.
I visited my mum's old friend this morning, she looked happy and comfortable. The surroundings and facilities seemed good and the staff and the overall welcome and feel were excellent. Thank you to everyone.
When visiting Mum, we always find her happy. She loves to sit in the day room watching the world go by. The carers are helpful and friendly; she loves interacting with them. Mum is always clean and tidy. I can leave knowing that she is safe and well looked after. Thank you.
My mother has been at Redannick since 2017. The level of care she has received is very good.
Staff are always very plesant. Always busy carrying out their duties. Rooms I visit always clean and tidy. All residents seen to be comfortable and happy. Mum looks very well, in clean clothes and happy. Security is good. Mum has never looked so well. Thank you to all.
To dear Redannick Residential and Nursing Home, the manager and all of the team, I just want to thank you for everything; your kindness, care, tenderness, joy and experience. I do hope Mum can stay with you until she moves on. Please can you keep in touch?
The home is run by wonderful people who I have the greatest respect for. looking after my wife who is not the easiest (keeps falling), not their fault. She also likes them because she still has a sense of humour as they do. I will be sorry if she has to be transferred. There are many patients who live in a little world of their own who need care and patience and get it. You read horror stories around the country about abusive carers. Not here!
During our visits to the care home to see my mother-in-law, the staff were friendly, helpful and smiling towards us. They were caring and helpful towards my mother-in-law by getting her a drink and biscuits and taking off her bib, which was better for us to see her without it on. The home, itself, has nicely spaced seating areas which, as a visitor, I found to be very good from a point of visiting where we are able to sit with my mother-in-law without being overcrowded by others around us. Overall, a good experience.
I visited my friend on a weekday morning, she was comfortable, there weren't any other residents in her lounge and I didn't see any refreshments being served to residents. The lounge didn't seem to have a homely, comfortable appearance but seemed clean. I didn't see her bedroom.
My wife is very comfortable at Redannick Residential and Nursing Home. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there are not enough staff, in my opinion, so things can take a while to be attended to.
The staff are very caring and kind. The home is comfortable and clean. Dad is happy here and likes to be able to go outside a bit. He loves gardening.
My mother was admitted to Redannick House in March 2023. She received nothing but the utmost care and attention from all the staff. The staff were friendly, caring and efficient. The whole atmosphere of the home is welcoming, bright and relaxed. The food is good, and the accommodation is comfortable. I believe all the above is due to the wonderful management and her deputy.
Since my mum has become a resident, I have been very satisfied with the level of care she is receiving. All of her needs are completely met from management, nursing staff and carers. Although she suffers from dementia, she has said she is so happy here. Whenever I visit and leave, it is always with the knowledge my mum is very comfortable and happy.
My uncle and his wife are both residents at Redannick. I am impressed by the following aspects of their Redannick experience. The friendliness, helpfulness and quality of all the staff we have encountered. Also reflected in the comments from my resident relatives. The flexibility of visitor arrangements. We live hours away, so can have challenges with timing our visits. Staff have always accommodated our timetable and welcomed us. Food and drink after our long journey is always offered. The visible improvement in my aunt's health since her arrival at Redannick. She has dementia so communication is difficult, but what we see is a happier, more lively and contented person. The facilities are spacious, clean and well-furnished. The special activities, Christmas celebrations and birthday celebrations are well done. An opportunity for improvement is that it is not easy to exercise in the limited indoor space, taking more able residents for short daily walks would bring health and mental benefits.
Care and love at Redannick is just very noticeable at your first contact with everyone there. The place is very clean. Food could be better, but it's ok. When you have dementia, care and attention is very important. Plush carpets and all above decor is not important. Redannick could be more modernised, but that may be awarded with the takeover from Cornwall care to Sanctuary which is gradually happening now. Time will tell.
