View Full Details of Restgarth Care HomeCould not recommend Restgarth Care Home enough. A clean, cosy and comfortable home with lovely staff. My mother-in-law felt safe and happy and loved her room looking out over the garden. The food was excellent and the home showed great care to everyone with a sense of humour. Thank you.
My mother has been at Restgarth now for over a year. I have contacted her by phone once or twice a week and have visited her once or twice a week and the calls and visits have been a pleasure. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure I can talk to or see my mum. Restgarth is secure, very clean and puts my and the family's minds at ease.
I cannot fault the care, carers, kitchen, cleaner and office staff etc; they are all extremely helpful and caring. My mum, who has dementia, is very happy and, most importantly, feels safe and cared for, which is a massive relief for our family.
It was such a joy to find Restgarth as a permanent home for my father, who had dementia. We first started visiting for daycare a few years ago so it was an easy transition for Dad to take up residential care. Restgarth has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, with hardworking, kind and friendly staff, super clean and sunny rooms, lots of lovely homemade food and beautiful well-kept gardens. Everything you would want for your family member has been catered for, there's no better place.
I was well looked after by competent and very pleasant staff.
My late mother was a resident at Restgarth for 4-years and 8-months, until her death earlier this month. The care she received during this time has been second to none. Restgarth is always clean, well maintained and homely. The staff are kind, caring and cheerful, which must have been challenging during the last 12-months. Visiting over this time has made the resident's safety and wellbeing a priority. Communication between the relatives of residents and staff has been excellent. We have always been made welcome. Food is nourishing, appetising, well cooked and presented. In my experience, end of life care was given sensitively, calmly and professionally. Thank you.
This care home, in my opinion, must be one of the best. All the staff in the home, whatever their role, are amazing. They looked after my mother until her death, retaining her dignity; they nursed her with love and attention until the end. Covid time has been difficult for everyone, but measures were put in place to keep all resident safe, and we were well informed of procedures, so far, all residents are safe. Before Coivd, a good social like was available to all who wished to participate. I was more than happy with Mum care, thank you.
At the age of 83, my own health was failing and I was in need of operations, so I realised I could no longer care 24/7 for my 88-year old husband. He had had many falls and was entirely sedentary. I spent many hours researching a care home, wanting to be sure my husband would be in caring hands, in a happy and pleasant environment with tasty, nutritious meals and opportunities to improve his life. I found all of these qualities at Restgarth Care Home, and many more. It is more like an hotel with such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and delightful staff. My husband says, 'The staff here are so nice'. Requests and concerns are dealt with promptly, and visitors made so welcome. After 3 years of mounting stress, I now have peace of mind. Restgarth is outstanding.
Restgarth is a brilliant care home. Everyone, from the office staff to the handyman are so kind, helpful and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Without this home I don't think we could have managed much longer, it is brilliant.
My father has been at Restgarth for 3 months. He's back to his old self. Eating again and putting on weight. He's been out to the pub for fish and chips, loves' being able to have a bath. We've not seen him this content for many years. He's constantly telling people he wishes he'd come here years ago.
My husband has been under the care and supervision of Restgarth for the past 5 years. Throughout his deteriorating health, the home has always bent over backwards to accommodate his requirements - most notably when his right leg was amputated. First class care and compassion. I have not once seen anything to complain about.
My Father, now 96, has been in Restgarth for 18 months. He has had excellent care and support throughout this period, including a stay in hospital for pneumonia. The house is a home and as far as possible the residents are allowed to live as if in their own homes - cups of tea, snacks when wanted, freedom of movement, kind and helpful staff. My Father's routines have been respected and supported. His medical care has been scrupulous and faultless.
I find the home's care of my mother to be of a high standard. Together with their understanding of how to support someone with many challenges associated with old aged disabilities.
The staff are very caring and easy to approach. Activities are varied, food very good. Would recommend this home for long or short stay. The rooms are light and clean and well maintained. Trips out for clients who wish to go and entertainment in house.
My mother in law had a very positive and happy experience when she stayed for respite care. Before arrival, a personalised care plan and medication management was agreed. I was completely reassured by this approach and the professional management of my mothers stay.
Restgarth Care Home very caring, staff very cheerful. Care home very clean. food very, very good. All aspects of care excellent. All residents receive love and care.
The home is very well run but the patient's alarm system requires updating. The alarm from the patient's buzzers in their rooms sound all over the building day and night. This is not a good thing for anyone. The home does have a high calibre of residents with Dementia, whom I cannot talk to. Mainly, one can cope with the above, but they should get into the 21st century.
From the first time we walked into the home, I knew this would be really what she would have wanted, if she knew where she was. It was bright, clean, 1st class. We were shown around and didn't hesitate to have a room for her. Very caring in every way, the way they treat the residents is so calm, friendly and sincere. Everywhere is so organised, if I have any concerns about my sister the Dr. is informed and has attended promptly on a few occasions when needed. Food is 1st class with relaxing lounges. Gardens to sit in, weather permitting. Dining room looks like a hotel. Tables all laid out with napkins etc. Food is all home cooked. Good safety and security at the entrance of the home.
My Granddad has recently moved into Restgarth and the welcome he received was lovely and friendly. All staff have been extremely caring as he moved a long way so they have allowed him to slowly settle in at his speed. The food is wonderful and freshly prepared and cooked. The lounges and bedrooms are homely and relaxing, which makes it feel more like their home rather than a care home.
Staff all very helpful and pleasant. Room was very sunny, airy and light. Clean and well furnished good bathroom. Food acceptable but I had no appetite as I wasn't too well in myself. Always plenty of tea/drinks. I would go back if I need to.
