View Full Details of Trevern Residential and Nursing HomeI am absolutely impressed with the overall level of care and professionalism of Trevern Residential and Nursing Home. My mother is settling in really well and is making friends with many of the staff and residents. Nothing is too much trouble and I'm always greeted with friendliness and respect. The rooms are well-cleaned every day and the food is excellent. I highly recommend Trevern to anyone looking for future care for their loved ones.
My Dad moved in here in August and I can honestly say he is absolutely thriving, the carers are now his friends as are the other residents. Honestly this is absolutely the best place, safe secure permanent accommodation, it's like a home from home but with lots of friends and better food (they cook amazing meals), nothing is too much trouble, residents are treated kindly and with respect. My dad is thriving here and absolutely is leading his best life. Thank you all so much. Thankfully my views of care homes have completely changed thanks to the team at Trevern Residential and Nursing Home, and my dad's life is now full of fun activities, hearty meals and lots of friends, not to forget the impeccable nursing care he is provided with 24 hours a day.
We've been visiting this care home for three years. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always pleased to see us visiting which means a lot. Really delighted to know my mum is in such good care and well looked after.
Friendliest nursing home I have ever been in. I was a state registered nurse (now retired) and worked in the field at one time. Excellent and professional - feels like a home for the residents.
Staff always friendly and helpful and interact well with my mother. Food always appears to be of a good standard.
It is a nursing home that I would recommend to everyone. If I needed one I would be quite happy to live there. You deserve a 5-star rating, the staff are absolutely wonderful. The food is excellent and the home is very clean.
My mum has been at Trevern for just over a year. As a family who were apprehensive about her going into a home, we needn’t have worried, Mum is extremely well looked after and the staff show her nothing but kindness and compassion, they are like her extended family. We know that she is getting the best care possible and can’t thank all the staff enough for taking such great care of her.
Positive points: Most staff do really care for my mother. Food has improved - keep it up. Notifications of 'event'/issues. Negative points: Staff turnover. Clothing control as to who has what. Parking - always had at 11-12 in the morning.
Gratitude to the management, professional, kind and extremely welcoming, with staff quickly making it their priority to get to know needs, the majority of all the team being absolutely, fully and deeply devoted to the service, welfare and happiness of their residents, all work extremely hard and are considered family. The chef and team do really well with the budget and how the kitchen is currently run, there is a big opportunity here for Sanctuary to review and update menus with less sugary content which does increase infection with more fresh produce, and tasty nutritional plates and less waste, more fitting to the time? Eating together makes a difference. The buildings are always cleaned well with the house and gardens being particularly run down, trusting Sanctuary will take it in hand to uplift these parts of the buildings with sun covers to allow residents to go outside this year during the summer months and bring back more activity instead of TV and Radio.
Trevern has always had an exceptional relationship with the community. They always had a waiting list due to the care and intervention. This has been noted as I have had a loved one in their care. My mother was tended by the care team of Trevern Care who went above and beyond as I knew they would management were in continuous contact and fully supportive of family members. I have an amazing relationship with the current registered manager who has continued to support me despite the passing of my mum. I would recommend Trevern.
Dad is very happy and content at Trevern and says that all of the staff are kind and caring. The only problem he has is with the food, he realises that a lot of the residents have no way of saying anything about it considering their dementia.
The staff are lovely. We like the way they interact with us and Mim-in-law. We are nearly always offered tea and biscuits on our visits. Mum-in-law always looks clean and tidy and the bed always looks clean. Very happy with the care given.
My reveiw relates to the month before my friend died. The care and support needed during this month was frequent and difficult. All those involved, from the nurse to the most junior care worker, did all they could to care for her and ease her discomfort. There was good liaison between the staff, the paramedic from the local surgery and, through him, the doctor. Senior staff and the nurses kept me informed on changes in her treatment and medication. When she was well enough to sit in the lounge, she was always encouraged, somewhat reluctantly, to join in with the organised resident activities. Again during, and after her death, I saw the loving care and the grief that was so visible by all the carers and in the preparation of her body for burial.
Very kind and helpful.
Very caring staff, clean and the residents are well cared for. Always very nice and pleasant staff and the rest of the workers. If I had to go into a home, it would be my choice, Trevern. The food is excellent.
I’m responsible for the care of my husband's first cousin. He has been a resident for 9-10 years. He has a large bedroom overlooking bathe front door. Light and comfortable. He has a daily paper and enjoys his many books and Music with TV in the evenings. He walks aided downstairs for meals. He enjoys chatting with a superb/patient secretary. Longing for the post that never comes nowadays, all so much tec today! His room and appearance are clean tidy and homely. He wears quality clothing and somehow it’s lasting, due to care. I can recommend Trevern.
My sister's husband sadly passed away and the staff at Trevern were so supportive and helped her through this difficult time. A carer accompanied her to the funeral and took good care of her. The care at Trevern is so good for my sister.
Unfortunately, my father had a stroke so mum had to go into care during the lockdown from September 2021. She had the onset of dementia so it was very difficult as we were not able to settle her in or visit regularly. We thought she was in the best place for care but we were unaware that her medication was changed and therefore she suffered with her bowel movements and went downhill, losing over two stones in weight. She had severe sores with apparently no cream available or applied at times. In normal times these things would have been picked up by us immediately. Nearly all her clothes went missing even after new ones were brought in which were named, even her new Christmas ones and her dressing gown disappeared which is unacceptable. I know because of the confusion and the onset of dementia mum may have been difficult at times but this is a professional care home set up to deal with this sort of situation and I do not feel Mum had this care.
My husband was very happy at Trevern. He received excellent care and was treated with kindness and dignity.
