View Full Details of Woodland Residential Care HomeWoodland is a happy, welcoming home from home. We were shown around at short notice and nothing was too much trouble. Visiting my mother-in-law is a lovely experience. The staff are genuinely friendly and so kind and caring. My mother-in-law has settled in very quickly and the staff have been integral in that. She is very impressed with the amazing food provided. Woodland is truly wonderful.
Woodland House has provided a caring home for my Mother and I honestly can't find any fault at all. The staff are wonderful, very friendly and supportive and everything is always very clean. I'd highly recommend Woodland House to anyone looking for an excellent place for a loved one.
My uncle has been a resident at Woodland since April 2024. He was previously admitted to hospital very poorly and suffering from neglect. When he left hospital he was very frail but on his way to recovery. Since being at Woodland however, his health and general condition has improved immeasurably. He has benefitted from eating regularly and healthily and his interaction with friendly staff and other residents has made him more sociable than any of his relatives can recall. He seems happy, well-fed, warm, clean and in very good spirits. Thank you all at Woodland.
After a fall in September, I broke my leg and was not allowed to weight bare. After my husband had died I lived alone with a wonderful family but settled around the world. I needed 24-hour care and received it at Woodlands. The staff gave me a feeling of safety, my needs were always met, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Their friendship and humour were so good. They made me the biggest birthday cake I have ever had. I would recommend Woodland and already have.
I found Woodland Residential Care Home by pure serendipity. From the moment I walked in I knew this was where my husband would be care for with love and respect. I cannot praise the management and all staff enough for enabling my husband to best care anyone could expect in the last few weeks of his life.
I love that my sister is so happy and settled there. When I visit the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. It runs like a well-oiled machine in there. Also lots of fun and laughter... which I think is so important for patients and staff. The food in there is fabulous and cakes are made for birthdays... nothing is too much trouble for them. My sister feels safe and is happy... we as a family could not ask for more.
Visiting a friend who is a temporary resident of the Woodland Residential Care Home. I have made several visits to see my friend and on each occasion, I received a friendly welcome from a member of staff. I noticed how clean and tidy the home was, as was my friend's room. If I happened to be there at tea or coffee time, I too was offered a drink, which was lovely. In addition, I witnessed how staff interacted with my friend and on every occasion, she was spoken to in a kind, warm, friendly manner, with great respect, dignity and a good measure of humour which we all appreciated. I believe that the staff are exceptional and I am curious to know how they are trained to have such a genuine empathetic approach.
I was very pleased and reassured that on my first visit to see my relative since going into the care home she was being looked after and cared for by all the staff who provide an excellent service! The care home staff also welcomed me and answered all my queries satisfactorily. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming also and my relative looked content and happy generally which reassured me that she was receiving the correct care with empathy and understanding.
From the moment you enter the home you know it’s a friendly safe place. All the staff are happy and helpful I feel as though my mother-in-law couldn’t better the care she receives. The food is amazing with a really friendly chef. Admin staff is always helpful. Look forward to visiting.
My father-in-law had his 50th wedding anniversary here. The staff were amazing, they put on a spread that would put any hotel or pub to shame. They are truly great. Plus they invited the Mayor of St Austell for their anniversary which was a great thing for them to do.
Carers and staff go over and above for their residents who all seem very content. Lovely and clean and staff are kind and courteous at all times, always have a smile on their faces and are happy to help with any questions.
I am just so grateful that my father-in-law is a resident of such a lovely home which is faultless in all respects. The compassion, care and respect shown to all residents and visitors is second to none. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to families looking for somewhere for their relatives to be cared for. As a previous CQC registered manager within the NHS, I can honestly say that Woodland House is exemplary and if I was ever thinking of going back to work at all I would be honoured to work for this company.
Dad was welcomed to the Woodland House family in December 2023, and after three months, we feel he is settling in well and slowly adjusting to living in a care home. The management, the team leaders, the cook and the rest of the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure Dad's needs have been met. His room is spacious, bright and always clean with a lovely view of the enclosed safe garden. The dining area is like a restaurant, again, with lovely views and a great varied menu every day. We visit any time without restriction and also take Dad out regularly. We cannot thank the staff enough for the kind, caring connections they have made with Dad and us. We viewed several care homes and are really pleased we chose Woodland House as Dad's permanent, forever home.
Overall, the home is "good", seen some changes lately. The residents seem settled and happy, and have noticed more care staff recently. The home is bright and cheerful, and it's nice the dining area is all set up like a little restaurant. The office staff are always willing to listen and all are very polite. Our friend's room is very nice and clean and a good size, and he seems very happy and content.
Mum has been very poorly and is moving towards end of life. The home has been brilliant and allowed us space for a birthday event. As well as providing excellent care for Mum they have been brilliant with the family as we visit, one manager summed it up by saying we are all part of the one family. Nothing is too much trouble and I cannot praise the whole team enough.
Mum became a resident in July after realising we could no longer keep her safe in her own home. It was a massive decision, especially taking Mum away from her beloved home but we needn't have worried as Woodland soon became home to Mum and the generously kind and caring staff are more like family to her. We know mum is in safe hands and the staff treat her as good as if she was their own Mum. Nothing seems too much trouble. Over the past few weeks, Mum has deteriorated and my sister, brother and myself have spent long hours by Mum's bedside. We have been supported with kind words, reassurance and enough tea to sink a ship! We will never be able to thank them all enough. We know we have more tough days ahead but it is made a little easier by these wonderful, caring people looking out for Mum and us all.
I am very happy with the care that my husband has. I could not ask for anything better.
I cannot speak more highly of the staff and atmosphere at Woodland House. It feels like a family home. My mother moved in just before her 90th birthday, and the staff took care to learn her favourite cake and make it, and the whole staff came in to wish her happy birthday. I was nearby for two weeks and came every day and got to know the staff. I witnessed how well the manager treated her staff in all departments, which I believe is a huge part of the humanity, dignity and respectful nature of the place. I live far away, and the staff are able to arrange regular video chats between me and my Mum, which means the world. It is truly priceless to know Mum is warm, safe and cared for so well. She is in a lovely room with a beautiful view of the garden and sky - and when the staff learned she loves birds, they attached a birdfeeder to the window so she could enjoy watching them. They have taken care to understand her preferences and favourite activities and to accommodate them.
All the staff were very helpful, always greeted you with a smile. Kept the room very clean and tidy as well as the patient. Always had time to talk to the patient and help with meals. The staff offered refreshments and always put in extra chairs if needed. They were very helpful on the phone if you had any questions to ask about the welfare of the patient. Would recommend this care home 100%.
I have had a lot of experience over the last 10 years visiting care homes to see my mum and many other members of my family, Woodlands is no. 1. Each and every one of the staff is just amazing, the way they show care, love, genuine love, respect and the way they interact with all the residents is a joy to see. It is difficult for the families to let them go but watching how they flourish in your caring hands makes it so much easier. Thank you all for everything you do.
