I always say that Ashfield saved my mum, it's been proven time and time again , just recently mum was poorly , I was contacted straight away , explained what was going on , I was able to go sit with mum till really late , when arrived I was met by a member of staff that told me exactly what was happening and took straight to mum, she also sat with us for some time so I wasn't scared , a welcome cup of tea was bought to us and mum was soon on the mend again , I can't recommend and thank Ashfield enough , the staff are very friendly and always on hand to help , mums very happy and very looked after , thank you everyone for saving my mum x
My mum came to Ashfield following a short stay in hospital. A bout of influenza left her with some delirium , therefore it was decided to allow some respite for me, and more recovery time for her in a rest home. She has found the move to a care facility extremely challenging and her behaviour has been difficult. All I can say is in my experience so far that the staff have been wonderfull. They have shown incredible warmth to me , but more importantly to my mother. I especially have to mention the home manager who has gone out of her way, often outside of her working hours to reassure me of any worries and concerns i have. This kindness extends to her team who are treating my mum with patience and care, in what I consider a very challenging job.
My mother moved into Ashfield in October 2024. She has chronic schizophrenia. She has good days and some very bad days. The manageress was always available to talk to me before she moved in and made me feel that this was the right place for her to live. Every time I visit, the manageress is always on hand to give me an update on her or to let me know of any hiccups that have happened. My mother left an institution and moved into a beautiful home. She's not an easy resident, but the staff handle her with care and respect. She loves the food that is cooked fresh there, and I've noticed that her weight seems to be more stable than where she was before. The dining room is a lovely, light space and very inviting. The residents were singing to a singing duo last week, and they were wonderful to watch. My mother is definitely in a good place at Ashfield, and I feel that she has made friends and is integrating really well there. I am so happy she is there.
My mother was in Ashfield for around 18 months before she passed. She loved the kind staff and although Mum was a fussy eater they tried to tempt her with things. Mum joined in the social activities and boat trips when she was still able as well as shopping trips. The building needs work - the ensuite toilet was too small to navigate with a walking frame, poor internet connection made phone calls tricky, and there were insufficient plug points. All care homes need to upgrade internet access for the next (my) generation (whilst we have the cognitive abilities). Mum used to video call me but then couldn't and often staff were too busy, so sometimes I could not speak to her for days. There was never a hand towel in the room. But the rooms have been painted and Mum had her things. She wanted to stay at Ashfield even though she was 200 hundred miles away from her family. The important thing is that Mum was happy there and the staff loved and cared for her.
Overall very good. Dad really loved it.
My mum has been at Ashfield since October 2023, this was a very unsettling process for her but she was made to feel very welcome and the staff did all they could to make it feel like home. My mum is now very settled and we can feel confident that she is cared for on a daily basis. The staff are very welcoming and there is always someone available to chat to. The new manager has made a huge difference to the day-to-day running of the home and is always available to answer any questions or concerns. The food at the home is all cooked on the premises by a chef and offers a variety of well-prepared meals.
Our mum has been a resident for over 2 years. We have been very happy with the care she has been given. We are extremely happy that when we visit Mum is really happy. The continued support we get from the staff is a blessing to us. Thank you for everything.
Mum has been a resident for 2 1/2 years and we are so delighted with the care Mum receives. Staff treat her with dignity and we are so lucky Mum is happy and content. Our thanks go out to management and staff for their continued care of Mum.
My mum has been a resident at Ashfields for a while now and, although suffering from dementia, she seems very happy here. As her daughter and closest family member to Mum, her happiness and well-being is the most important thing in the world to me. The staff are always helpful and caring here, they speak to Mum and to me with respect and kindness at all times. Mum is always clean, smells lovely, warm and is looked after no matter what time of day or night I visit! Her health and care needs are met at all times and if I ever have questions or concerns, someone is always available to put my mind at rest and answer my questions. Putting my mum into a care home was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in life, it’s never easy and you suffer the guilt for a long long time, but I am happy I chose Ashfields and I’m happy they care for my mum.
I think its a nice place. I am well looked after. The food is excellent. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
I moved to Ashfield two weeks ago on respite. However, I like it so much that I've decided to stay. I really enjoy the company, the food is amazing and the staff are brilliant.
I am very happy and settled here. The staff couldn't be more caring and kind. Excellent food, lovely room and entertainment are varied and interesting. I really enjoy the outings and visits to the library.
In my view, Ashfield Care Home is second to none and I am extremely happy that my husband is a resident there. The staff are exceptionally caring and loving and create a very happy environment and atmosphere. The fact that my husband is happy and feels safe here gives me peace of mind and contentment in placing him in care.
I am very happy and grateful for all they do for me.
I have found that all the staff at Ashfield are all extremely dedicated to the care of their patients. I am kept updated at all times regarding my mum's situations and she is being dealt with respect and dignity at all times. They are all lovely, look after my mum brilliantly and they rock!
Very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble helping Dad settle in. Staff always willing to listen to how I was feeling as well.
My stepmother is new to Ashfield but we have been very impressed with the homeliness of the place, the level of care and individual attention she has received and the overall feeling of it being a home, not an institution. The staff could not have been more helpful and kind and we are very happy that we made a good choice with Ashfield. Thank you to all concerned.
I cannot comment on rooms as due to lockdown we are not allowed in. My sister and I would be delighted to be invited in and as we will be having our second vaccines in April, perhaps this can happen? I cannot answer on "Value for Money" as I have no experience other of other homes. My impression of its staff is good, well managed and extremely caring.
We find all staff are very helpful; have gone above and beyond to make our mum happy and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble. We know she is safe and given the best care she deserves; her quality of life has improved so much since she has moved to Ashfield. The staff kept us informed of everything to do with care, and we can call our mother anytime we need too.
To the best of my knowledge, I am quite pleased and satisfied with the care and support my wife is receiving at Ashfield. Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I have not been able to visit my wife to go inside the care home. Only once I did visit from the outside back in November 2020 so this is just a rough idea of my experience.
