Such a lovely care home, key word home, really feels like a home with friends. Staff are kind and thoughtful, not clinical just homely. Lots of activities and visitors welcome anytime. Recommended.
Court House staff all go above and beyond. My mother seems so much happier than before, alone at home struggling to cope. Everyone has been very welcoming and I have been most impressed by the activities provided and the quality of the meals. As I visit from abroad, I have eaten the meals myself on several occasions and really enjoyed them. Overall there is a cosy, happy atmosphere.
Thank you for the wonderful care you gave to our father. Providing friendship, conversation and banter, but also advice, comfort and reassurance. He greatly appreciated the service you provided and also the friendly faces of you all popping up to see him.
Value for money is poor as we are paying for an en suite room that my Mother cannot use as it does not have a shower in it. The care staff are very good but staffing levels are often low, which then puts the support that residents are getting as poor. The food is basic, lunches are good but teatime is sometimes just a honey sandwich which has no nutritional value.
A small and intimate care home. Staff and residents know each other and genuinely care about residents. Each resident is treated as an individual with individual care needs. The staff are co-operative and helpful to family members and visitors. They 'go the extra mile' to ensure the experience of residents and families is the best it can be, even in difficult circumstances like Covid. Thank you all.
My mother arrived at Court House in September 2021 after living in London on her own for the last 15 years, and in the same house for 72 years. After a couple of falls, and a trip to Hospital where she caught Covid, we managed to persuade her to be closer to us in Devon. It took about 3 months for her to settle in, not surprising as it was a completely new way of living and environment. Now she is enjoying herself with a completely new lease on life, thanks to the homely environment and friendly caring staff. It is a joy for us to visit frequently to see her in such fine health, thanks to the nursing care mum has benefited from, far better than she received in North London.
My father arrived at Court House after 16 weeks of being in hospital, over a year ago. He was very uneasy, anxious and not himself when he arrived. With all the special care and attention to detail with all the various ailments my dad has, he opened up again, as he created a good relationship with the staff. It was so great to be able to have a joke and a laugh with him, which had not been possible for some time. During lock down he had little contact which didn't help with his vascular dementia. His confidence came back thanks to the continued homely support, he got from the staff at Court House. I'm so impressed at how efficient the staff have been in dealing with health issues my father has experienced, they don't miss a trick! The staff are particularly great at keeping in contact with me with any issues that may arise and keep me updated. I am truly grateful to all the staff at Court House, for providing such a high level of care for my dad.
My mother has been particularly poorly the staff have assisted in her rehabilitation. The staff including the manager are truly top-notch.
When mum first arrived at Court House she was frail and frightened. The outstanding care and compassion that she has received from the staff and leadership there have been transformational. Five and a half years later and now in her 90th year, mum is healthy and happy. We are so very grateful.
My close friend of many years has been living at this home for over a year now. He was diagnosed with dementia and being in his sixties is fairly young to be in a care home. As his friends, we were all understandably worried about the quality of life he would have there. We needn't have worried. The home is open and friendly with a family atmosphere. Staff go that extra mile to ensure our friend is occupied and stimulated and appear genuinely interested in him as a person. We have noticed the good relationships he has with many of the staff there. Always welcoming when we visit and able to answer any questions or concerns about his health and wellbeing. As his friend, we are satisfied that he is being well looked after both physically and mentally and is even enjoying his days there. Recently his health has declined and the home is doing an excellent job of caring for him and supporting his family and friends. Highly recommend this place.
I cannot praise Court House enough - my Mum lived here for 2 and a half years and was given respect and dignity by all the staff. She was very happy here. The house itself is always clean and well maintained. The food is home cooked and plentiful. The staff were professional, yet so caring towards Mum, it gave me great peace of mind. In the last couple of weeks of Mum's life - everyone was so kind and loving to Mum and us as a family, making it as easy as they could for us. I would recommend Court House wholeheartedly.
I decided to move into a care home when my carer at home said she couldn't take on any more hours and as I didn't want strangers around my home I decided to move into a care home. My daughter visited a few homes that were no good. Then she came to Court House and we were lucky. It's a lovely room overlooking the front drive so there is plenty to see. I worked as an N.A for the NHS so I tell you I cannot fault the care I receive at all. The food is great and plenty to choose from and well prepared and served. Also, the caring is beyond words. Nothing to fault at all.
My mother moved into Court House Sept 15 after my father died. All the staff have been very kind and patient with her and treated her with dignity. She has enjoyed the activities including the barbecue recently. All the managers take time to talk to residents and show an interest in them. I would highly recommend Court House for any elderly person.
My mother is looked after very well. The food she says is excellent and enjoys it very much. Marcus the proprietor has made huge steps to improve the quality of life for residents. He has updated the interior with flair! Cleanliness and staff attention has greatly improve since he has taken over the management of Court House. Most of all the number one priority is that my mother is being well looked after in her later years. Well done to the team.
