View Full Details of Bluebell House Care HomeMy mum recently arrived at Bluebell House in January from hospital. She has settled remarkably well after living in her own home before her admission to hospital. The staff are wonderful very attentive to Mum's needs. Since arriving, they have encouraged Mum to eat and drink unaided which is a joy to see. She has made lots of friends since arriving and is enjoying the company. She has gone from unrecognising her family on admission to now knowing us all and being able to have conversations with us. They have made us all extremely welcome when visiting and even given great grandchildren ice cream on a recent visit. Nothing is too much trouble. Nothing but love and care given to Mum.
On Tuesday (18th) mum was able to enjoy a long awaited visit from her grandson and granddaughter-in-law and their three children (mum's great grandchildren) aged 4 and twins aged 7 months. They live in Worcester and mum had not yet had the opportunity to meet the twins We would like to thank the staff at Bluebell House for their hospitality in accommodating the visit and for lovely way they engaged with the children. The visit lasted an hour which brought mum so much joy and enjoyment.
We are pleased with the care my grandma has received during her time at Bluebell House Care Home. The staff are always very attentive to her needs and she feels safe and secure there. The activities coordinator does a marvellous job and works really hard to engage all residents, including my grandma (which is not always easy)! To ensure she is not spending too much time on her own.
I went to visit my grandma and the nurses there were very attentive and took great care of her. I live overseas and was happy to see that she's living in a nice place with kind people. Thank you to everyone who's been helping my grandma over the years.
Dad was placed into Bluebell House Care Home following a hospital admission. After much soul searching, as a family, we decided it was in Dad's best interest to remain as a resident at Bluebell, self-funding (whilst he can). I'm very happy to report we made the right decision, Dad is thriving. Thanks to the activities coordinator, Dad is happily involved in all things sociable, especially the choir where you would have found him proudly taking lead vocals at the family fun day. I would also like to give a shoutout to the manager who I find to be very personable, approachable and efficient. I would like to give a thank you to all carers, cleaners, cooks the odd-job man who Dad seems to have taken a shine to. I pray Dad can continue going from strength to strength in your care.
We very much enjoyed attending the Family Fun Day. It was lovely to celebrate the 100th birthday of one of the residents. We appreciated the thought and care that had been put into making it a memorable day for him. As family, we are heartened to see how much my mother-in-law enjoyed the programme of events - especially the musical items. A big thank you to one particular member of staff who organised the Fun Day and all those who ably supported her in putting on the day. It was indeed fun! We have also appreciated the patient way my mother-in-law is gently encouraged to engage with other residents through the activities put on week by week. A big highlight earlier this year has been the change of room so that she now has a glorious view of the sea and coast that she loves and knows so well. It is also noticeable on recent trips that the intrusive sound of the call alarms seems to have been reduced, making for a calmer atmosphere in the home.
The staff are very friendly. My dad has been with them 2 years now. The food has got much better, as my dad does like his food. He has a room with a view to the sea and enjoys sitting looking out. He provides the quizzes when asked for the residents, although does find it hard to write now. Due to his spinal condition he finds it uncomfortable spending time in the lounge therefore does not meet as many people as he wishes. It is a shame there are a lack of volunteer people who come round and spend time with the residents as stimulation is a real must and the staff don't have the time, although they are excellent, they have all the residents to care for. It is a very caring home.
My mum has been at Bluebell House for nearly 4 years and during all that time she has received outstanding care and support. I have seen Mum blossom over the years and she is very happy to be in Bluebell House. I am so grateful to all the staff - thank you so much.
I have always been very happy with the care provided by Bluebell for the resident and so has he. I am also very pleased with the improvements that have been made recently both inside of the home and outside in the gardens. Also it is great that the annual fun day this year is centred on his 100th year and he is very pleased to know that his life is being highlighted and celebrated - thank you to one member of staff in particular for your efforts! He has been with Bluebell now for nearly 6 years and has been very happy and content.
Bluebelle House has some great staff with caring and conscientious empathy with their residents. They do their upmost to enhance the lives of all the residents with a great activity schedule. Since my mum went into the care home, they have treated her wonderfully and kept me informed of how she's doing.
Mum continues to go from strength to strength with the care and support of the team at Bluebell House. There is always something happening and one staff member in particular works tirelessly to ensure all residents are involved in activities that bring joy and purpose to their days. In addition, another staff member has been working hard to find appealing food options to increase Mum's variety of food choices too.
Mum has been at Bluebell House Care Home mearly a year and is very content there. She likes the food and the staff. This is comforting for my brother and I. In particular, I would like to mention the regular newsletter showing the various activities and the photos - Mum always looks happy in them. Bluebell management has also been very quick and efficient to sort any admin issues.
My mother has been a resident at Bluebell for several years now. The team are exceptional- so dedicated and caring. There is a wide range of activities for residents to get involved with, and there are trips out, most recently a drive around the local area to enjoy the pretty Christmas lights. The manager is very effective, and if I have concerns, they are addressed very speedily. Better food would be a major step.
Mum has now been at Bluebell House for over a year and her care has been outstanding throughout. She is happy and takes part in the many activities on offer. All the staff are so patient and caring and it is a great relief to myself and the rest of her family that she is so well looked after.
Most staff are caring and helpful, however, there are issues that are disappointing. Mum pays c£1500 per week privately, serious mobility issues, we have been told she has dementia and is very confused and has entered EOL Phase. She has to privately fund her own wheelchair £25/wk, which is disappointing. She has contracted several contagious illnesses and been hospitalised twice, once with pneumonia, during her 2 years at Bluebell. A staff member advised they have to work when they are sick as they otherwise don't get paid, which seems outrageous in a care home environment. I am 3 hours away and it is difficult for me to visit, but I try to call most days. I estimate that 2 of 3 attempts to call the phone is not answered (50% during the week, 75% at weekends). It is frustrating as, when I do get through, Mum is often asleep, given her condition, so there are few chances to speak. She says she is very lonely, I think she receives personal care, food, but would benefit from more company.
I visit once a month with my Pat dog, and we are always made so welcome both by the staff and the residents. Such a lovely location with amazing views and is always neat and tidy. Always some activity taking place to engage the residents, and the smile on their faces when they meet my dog makes it all worthwhile.
Very satisfied for my mother to be staying here. We don't visit too often and she hasn't recognised me now for a few years. It's a pity dogs are no longer allowed to visit because this was the only thing that made her smile and appear happy.
First-class experience! Family open day with food, drinks and entertainment! Very well organised and with a lot of effort from the staff. Also a big thank you to two staff members in particular, for all they did!
The staff are caring and well-skilled, and the management is extremely good and leads well. My mum has been in Bluebell for 13 months, and her health has improved. Activities are super, and Mum is always involved. The staff have a great sense of humour, which Mum loves. Any problems were easily solved, and everything to help Mum recover after a fall had been done. As a family, we can not thank them enough. Mum has always been there for lots of people besides her own family and now has really good care. Thank you to each and everyone at Bluebell House; you are all very much appreciated.
I am very happy at Bluebell House Care Home and I am treated with great care. My room is very comfortable, the food is excellent and I am kept aware by very good activity programmes.
