View Full Details of Hillbrow HouseMy Aunt has been in this home for many years, when I phone from London I always get a friendly response from the care team especially one particular member of staff, he makes you feel at home. When we have visited my aunt after giving notice they always prepare the private dining room and the meals are first class. The cleanliness of the whole building even the toilets and bathrooms are lovely and clean. My aunt's room is on the ground floor so she is able to look out on the gardens and pond which are kept to a high standard. The activities are good but as stated in your document it does need further activities if possible. If you request, you can look at the kitchen which is spotless with first class staff. The home is always warm and friendly I would recommend this to anybody if I needed to go into a home this would be the first choice even with me being in London, my last words are THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT.
As a friend and holder of her Lasting Power of Attorney, I oversaw the lady's time at Hillbrow House. It was clean and tidy at all times, and her room was very pleasant. The manager and her team were always there to help whatever the situation. They were friendly, patient, and respectful, and the atmosphere was always good-hearted. I wish that she had been able to remain there with them.
My mother has been in Hillbrow for 3 weeks in respite care whilst we went on holiday, therefore I have only visited the home twice but friends and relatives who have visited, have reported back with very positive comments. Hillbrow has a warm and friendly feel as soon as you enter the building. All the staff that I came into contact with were kind and caring and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The environment is made attractive with flowers and display boards showing activities etc. There are a wide range of activities from crafts to keeping fit and several services such as hairdressing. There are several inviting and homely communal areas and an attractive garden My mother reported back that the food was good and that she was eating much more than at home. The home is obviously managed very well. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Hillbrow to others.
We cannot praise Hillbrow highly enough. It has a warm homely feel the moment you arrive. The biggest strength is the wonderful staff who bowled us over with their constant kind and caring ways. Nothing was too much trouble and they were respectful and patient with our dad. The staff feel like such a strong team and we know that doesn’t happen without strong leadership and guidance. The manager and all the other staff had such kind empathy for all of us as a family. It’s spotlessly clean with beautiful flowers in the communal areas and everything is well thought through to make life comfortable for residents. The food looked really good and the dining room was light and bright. We cannot praise Hillbrow enough and we were so lucky to find them to entrust our Dad into their care.
I was concerned about my mother having to move into a care home at 97 years of age but need not have worried as Hillbrow is “a home from home”. The staff are very kind, caring and attentive and no request appears to be too much trouble. The social interaction and activities have proved to be very stimulating for her but there is no pressure to join in if you feel you do not want to. The food is very good and varied and I have not heard any complaints at all from her. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly when I visit and I have no hesitation in recommending Hillbrow House.
Mum moved to Hillbrow after a brief spell in another care home for physio, unfortunately Mum was not happy, there was no stimulation or interaction with other residents and Mum was becoming withdrawn. Luckily a vacancy became available at Hillbrow, and Mum was familiar with it, having visited many residents in the past. On Mum's first day, she was welcomed to the home by the manager, settled into her room, had her hair done by her regular hairdresser (now a weekly event) all before a lovely lunch, where she was thoughtfully seated by another resident Mum already knew. I had our Mum back! Hillbrow is a family-run home with a homely friendly feel, flowing from the directors, management, staff to the residents. My mother and I cannot praise everyone enough at Hillbrow, the staff are all very caring, patient and perform their shift with a smile, with plenty of resident interaction and activities especially prior to Christmas. I would strongly recommend Hillbrow Care Home.
My mum has lived in Hillbrow House for almost eight years and is proud to call it home. I owe a huge debt of thanks to the cheerful, hard-working staff who look after her in this wonderful, caring home. The warmth of welcome my husband and I have received on visiting, both before and after Covid, has been exceptional, whilst during the pandemic I had the reassurance that Mum was kept safe and happy. Recently the home has opened its doors fully again and the staff could not have been kinder, more dedicated nor more friendly and professional. I can highly recommend this home for its excellent contribution to the total welfare of its residents. Thank you Hillbrow House.
Hillbrow House Care Home management and team are dedicated, hardworking and sensitive to the needs of all the residents. They provide wonderful care to my family member who has been there for almost nine years. There are regular activities for the more active residents but for those with limited physical ability, staff will give one-to-one attention to stimulate conversation on news or memories to help their mental well-being.
My mum has been a resident at Hillbrow House Care Home for about three years. She is well cared for, very happy and contented; she often says how kind everyone is. Whenever I visit, members of staff are very friendly and always make time for a chat. I would recommend Hillbrow to anyone considering a move into a care home.
We, being friends of a husband and wife, were over the moon when we managed to secure places for both of our friends. They had come from a bad time into the warmth and loving atmosphere of Hillbrow. At the beginning of their time in Hillbrow, we were all struck with the consequences of Covid-19. But the level of care, love and concern never wavered, whatever the strains of daily living with this crazy disease. We can only say a massive "thank you" to every member of the staff, from the management right down to the newest carer. On behalf of our friends and ourselves, thank you, and God Bless you all.
Hillbrow House Residential Care Home is, first and foremost, a 'home from home'. Residents' different and individual personalities are respected, cherished and blossom, helped along by sociable intermingling and a near daily programme of activities. Hillbrow House's atmosphere is warm and friendly, spaces are ordered and tidy (inside the home and in the garden). Menus are varied and tasty, with drinks and snacks aplenty, even on offer is the occasional glass of sherry! Each and everyone on the Team appears to be led by a collective spirit and this, coupled with the Team's hard work caring for and nurturing the residents, means that 'life' at Hillbrow House glides along smoothly. I would definitely recommend Hillbrow House Residential Care Home to potential residents and their families who are considering making such a move. Hillbrow House competently and completely meets the important 'Family and Friends' test. Thank you very much to all the Hillbrow House Team.
It was a difficult decision to move our mother to a residential care home and we were relative novices at evaluating local care homes. We are so pleased we chose Hillbrow, partly on local recommendation and partly due to the time and care taken by the care manager to understand Mum's needs and capabilities. We are 2 months on and Mum has already made friends, is looking healthier and happier than for a long time. Thank you to all the Hillbrow staff.
Hillbrow gave such exceptional care to my Mum, as well as very high standards and professionalism. The way my Mum felt loved and valued was so special. I could have found a better place for my Mum to spend her risk years. She was treated as a unique and special person, so important to her and us a family. Thank you, Hillbrow, you are all truly stars.
I go to 2 care homes in Surrey to visit people in care so I get a good feel about them. Hillbrow is what I call a very wonderful place to be looked after. The standard is first class, the staff are fantastic with everybody, the cook is first-rate, the place is so clean and all visitors are made so at home. If I was to go into a home this would be the one for me or my wife. And I mean this statement. All I can say, it's the top place to go and we wish you all the very best in health. God speed.
Mother has been happily settled at Hillbrow House for a couple of years now. It never ceases to amaze me how caring and patient the staff are no matter what day of the week I phone. Of course, recently the pressure has been enormous on all the staff and management with all the extra COVID precautions. Then on top of that, they have to contend with some of the elderly residents being confused about all the new procedures. By no way an easy task I am sure. However, I am sure that Mother is in excellent hands receiving the best of care, which gives us such peace of mind. The standard of care and attention has not waived at all through this difficult period, and I would thoroughly recommend Hillbrow House to anyone trying to find a happy caring place for a loved one to reside. Above all, I wish to say a huge thank you to the management and staff for their dedication.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Nothing seems to be to much trouble. Fathers health and wellbeing have improved considerably since moving into Hillbrow.
Lovely residential home care exceptional real fondness for residents. Have complete confidence in all aspects of care for residents.
Hillbrow is a warm and welcoming residential home. Staff are approachable and always happy to help. The activities planned for residents are excellent, and they are always very varied. The food is brilliant and they accommodate dietary needs really well. I feel happy and secure in the knowledge that my mum is being well cared for in a safe and homely environment.
My Mother recently moved to Hillbrow House having lived on her own for a number of years. She has since regained her 'joie de vivre' and a healthy amount of weight thanks to the excellent care she's receiving. This establishment is family owned and run, with the team being very courteous and approachable - they clearly enjoy what they do There's an atmosphere of quiet efficiency but a chuckle and a joke are never far away. The range of activities offered to residents is really inspiring and something that my Mother has certainly benefitted from. Perhaps,, most importantly, the place is kept clean with an absence of stale odours which I noticed when looking at other homes before a decision was made. First impressions make a huge difference.
Lovely caring staff who support people to be as independent as possible. There is a great atmosphere, with lots of activities if people want to do them. Food is good, people are encouraged to eat and drink well either in the dining room or in their room.
