View Full Details of Kent House Care HomeMum came into care in June because of severe mobility problems. All the staff from the very start have been friendly and welcoming both to Mum and all the family when they visit. The home is well run and carers are for the most part loving and caring. It is a big move to give up your home and enter a care home, but Mum is very happy and settled.
Very welcoming, the manager had a very open and honest approach. Relaxing atmosphere. All staff are pleasant and kind.
My dad has been here for a few months now and has settled in well mainly due to the love and care of the staff who are absolutely fantastic, the food is delicious too and always smells lovely. Well done to all the staff.
The home is lovely, very friendly and the staff have lots of patience. Nothing is too much trouble. The Deputy is very kind and knowledgeable that goes for all the staff. The manager is an amazing manager, a brilliant lady, 100% amazing, kind and a great listener.
Kind, caring and friendly team in all aspects who take time to get to know the residents, working and adapting to the medical needs of individual residents which is no easy task and, for my relative in particular, is very much appreciated by the family.
During my stay at Kent House, I experienced great kindness, care and consideration from the manager, assistant manager and all the carers and staff. They are to be congratulated and praised and I would like to send them all my good wishes and thanks.
My father has settled very well into the care home, is well cared for and enjoys the food. His care has increased due to deterioration and an excellent standard maintained.
Our mother came into Kent House, very unwell and under weight. Over the months she has had remarkable care. Due to restoring her weight and, most of all, her quality of life. Nothing is too much for the staff and we thank them very much for their dedication.
My mother came to Kent House because she was no longer safe in her flat because she kept falling and was then unable to walk. Her eyesight, due to wet macular, was also failing. The staff were very good at informing my mother what was happening and helping her. The manager kept me up to date as to my mother's progress or any issues that arose and was very helpful in arranging any visits from family where more space was needed eg: 92nd Birthday. My mother has settled well, I visit twice a week and the staff are friendly and polite. My mother always looks well cared for.
Much easier now in terms of visiting. My brother seems well settled and loved by staff members and really enjoys the singing and days out in the minibus.
I telephoned Kent House to visit my sister-in-law in an hours time and promptly the door was answered and my temperature taken. My sister-in-law was in the lounge. I escorted her to another room where we opened a present and ate a chocolate each, then played dominoes which we enjoyed. She had not lost her love for a game, although not played since before COVID. I am very satisfied with her care. I can not provide ratings on food, activities, safety or value for money.
My father moved to Kent House in April 2022 and was there until his death earlier this month. Everyone involved in Dad's care was cheerful, friendly, helpful, and kind. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with lots of chatter and laughter, just like the best family home. And there are even birds on the feeders and a cat in the garden!
I came here from hospital, very weak, I had lost a lot of weight. I am so much better, put on weight, eating well and enjoying being able to have a bath. My legs are so much better for it and I'm very well looked after and cared for. I live alone, I am waiting to go back home. I am thinking of staying here, I will be 89 if I live until October. I have been on my own for 22 years, so I feel it's time to be looked after.
Friendly and helpful.
Kent House is a home from home. A safe and caring body of staff who are always friendly and welcoming.
My mother as settled into the rountine of Kent House with the care and patience of staff. She always seems happy and full of praise when I visit. Enjoys the food. Everyone is helpful and polite when I visit during these difficult times. They are good at testing and the safety of the home and residents.
Because of COVID, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the home run before COVID, so I can't give a true review. My mother took a long time to settle in, not helped by not being able to visit due to lockdown. I would like to see a more relaxed environment again, where we can visit without having to make appointments. I'm happy to have tests still.
My husband has been at Kent House since October 2020 and has settled in well. Due to his Alzheimer's, he isn't able to tell me how he feels, but he usually smiles at the carers.
My uncle passed recently having been a resident at Kent House for about three years. He arrived mobile and fully alert but weak being vulnerable to falling over. Over time his condition deteriorated to being immobile, then unresponsive, then passing. Throughout his time at Kent House, he was very well looked after by all staff. They kept us informed as he peaked and troughed and always provided him the appropriate level of support with care and compassion. He reported that the food was good. I particularly liked the fact that family and friends could drop in and see him at their discretion. Even in the end, I noted how clean and fresh his bedding was and how his clothes were neatly folded and packed away. As a family, we are all very happy that he spent his final years comfortable and contented at Kent House.
My mother has Vascular Dementia and is now safe and happy in Kent House. She benefits from sensitive carers who soon recognise if she is distressed. Her room is lovely and light as well as beautifully warm which she needs.
