View Full Details of Manor Lodge Care HomeMy 2 weeks, respite care was very enjoyable being looked after well - didn't like a nurse coming in suddenly at 4 am. A good Christmas lunch, but salmon was as hard as rocks! My room was great, well furnished but bed was against wall - bad. Staff coped well with dementia care, but could have been more attentive to TV needs. General atmosphere was pleasant - well done!
Manor Lodge is in a perfect setting in a leafy part of Exmouth, and with a small but pleasant garden. Rooms are well appointed and some, like Mum's, open onto the garden. Care staff are kind, helpful and attentive to the residents and their visitors. We enjoy our visits and often bring our little dog who is a popular guest with the residents. The reason for the missing 5th star is that there is a notable lack of presence by the Aiveda management, despite promises. With costs escalating since Mum first arrived, there is a risk of a perception of 'business' over 'care' from the company. Overall, I would recommend Manor Lodge to anyone looking for residential family care in Exmouth.
My mother has been living at Manor Lodge for nearly a year. She is well cared for and her needs are met. She has a nice bright room and has enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden. The staff are always very welcoming to the family. Mum enjoys the home-cooked food, with meals being changed for her if she wants something different. This is never a problem. One observational criticism is the lack of stimulating activities, but this has improved in the time Mum has been there and I know that staffing issues can play a part in this. As a family, we can go to sleep at night knowing mum is content and being well looked after.
My mother has found her time at Manor Lodge very comfortable and friendly. Her room is attractive and the staff are attentive and willing to chat. She enjoys her meals and the catering staff know her favourite foods. The staff are responsive to the family when we have questions. The gardens are attractive and are lovely to sit in the summer.
The Manor Lodge Care Home in Exmouth is an outstanding care home. My mother has been there for three years now and it is comforting to know she is in fabulous care. The staff are friendly, caring and I know my mum is safe and well cared for.
We are very grateful that, facing a swift closure of my mother's previous care home, the management and whole team at Manor Lodge Care Home found room to look after her. Mum has seemed much more relaxed since moving to Manor Lodge and is well cared for by dedicated staff who have a smile for everyone, even though their days are very busy. Mum, herself, has said how comfortable she is at Manor Lodge and is very fond of all the staff she meets regularly. Many thanks to the whole team for providing a haven for Mum and confidence for the family that whatever is going on in our lives, she will be well cared for.
This has to be the worst care home I have ever had the misfortune to visit. Most of the staff I had contact with spoke very little English. Resident was there for 1 week only. The worst week of his life. He was treated like a 3rd class citizen. Manhandled by staff, staff used language he found disturbing and left him feeling frightened, vulnerable and scared to go to sleep. Things taken from his room without consent. Medication not given properly. I would not put my worst enemy in this facility.
My mother is well cared for and happy at Manor Lodge, my only criticism is the lack of activities and entertainment, the residents seem to need some simulation and fun, but they just sit in the lounge in the afternoons with the TV and fall a sleep, I believe there is a quiz occasionally, but I no my mother has taken to going to her room most afternoons as she gets bored. Maybe the lack of this facility is due to funding, but I’m sure relatives such as myself would be willing too help raise funds or donate some money to cover some entertainment at least once a month.
My husband moved into Manor Lodge Care Home 2023. he is very happy in his new home and was welcomed along with his rabbits, by very caring friendly staff and manager. They have continued to promote his independence in looking after her rabbits and maintaining the beautiful gardens. He loved to be outside as much as he can be, de-heading flowers, weeding etc. I have a peaceful mind knowing the staff are keeping a watchful eye on him and are at hand if needed. They will answer any concerns or questions if I have asked, always polite, happy and friendly. Well done all and thank you very much Manor Lodge.
We are very grateful to Manor Lodge for caring for my mother-in-law so well. She was treated with respect, care and compassion. As relatives, we were also shown kindness and given time when needed. My mother-in-law would often say that we couldn't have found her a better home. Thank you to all the staff at Manor Lodge and the staff at Head Office we interacted with. The entire team are key to making Manor Lodge an excellent care home.
