View Full Details of Moorgate Care HomeWe could not have wished for a better placement for our father. The staff were always caring, kind, respectful and looked after him to the bets of their ability. There were always various activities available to all the residents and there was a very positive buzz whenever you visited. Everyone who visited dad remarked on the clean + bright accommodation and the fact that it felt like a "home from home".
My husband was admitted to Moorgate Care Home for palliative care (aggressive lymphoma). He was playing tennis last month and the diagnosis was a huge shock for the whole family. Following a very stressful 19 days in two hospitals, coming into Moorgate was like taking the lid off a precious cooker. We immediately felt totally supported emotionally and physically. We are treated with kindness, efficiency and dignity. The manager has been enormously helpful, going above and beyond to support us, especially with all the admin/red tape taking away all my stress and worries. The manager has been a tower of strength when we most needed it on our journey. Would have been hell without her. We have been here nearly a week now. We are very relaxed and I too am being totally supported in every way, with 24/7 access. Moorgate is perfect for our current needs and senior staff have everything in place, liaising with the local Hospice and medics. We can never thank Moorgate enough. Thank you!
I really enjoyed my staff, staff and management were really friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I would have no hesitation in staying again and would recommend to anyone who is looking for this service.
I have been admitted to Moorgate Care Home for palliative care (aggressive lymphoma). Everyone is friendly, loving and kind, there is no way we could have coped at home even with carers popping in. During this incredibly difficult time, my wife is also being supported by everyone here, especially the manager and deputy. They are beyond amazing. My wife can be here 24/7 which is hugely comforting. Nothing is too much trouble. Although this is a horrid situation, Moorgate Care Home is allowing us the time and space for many special family members. Thank you.
My mother spent the last year of her life at Moorgate. The staff were wonderful and I always felt she was safe there. She enjoyed participating in the events and even made new friends. Although we were sad she had to leave her own home we were very happy she was able to join the Moorgate community.
My stay has been excellent and I cannot find any faults. Very friendly. The staff always busy but not too busy to stop and help you.
My sister spent 3 years in Moorgate and was welcomed and made to feel a part of their family. Myself and the family also felt supported and were included in every decision. We all agree that she couldn't have been looked after any better and the end-of-life care was very special.
My aunt was at Moorgate for three years. During this time I couldn't fault the care she received. All the staff were amazing, kind and caring. The home was clean and well-maintained. It was a very happy place to be, with great facilities and activities. I would highly recommend this care home to others.
Our mother had spent almost three years at Moorgate Care Home before she passed. Throughout this period of time, and in particular the last part of her journey, without exception, all the staff have been kind, patient, respectful and considerate in caring for all our mother's requirements and needs. Moorgate has provided the highest quality of care for my mother - thank you all very much!
After many years living independently, our Mum reached a stage where it was suggested to us that she needed more care than we were able to provide. Moorgate Care Home was our first choice, and we will always be grateful to them for the respect and care they provided for Mum and for making her feel so welcome. She had a phone in her room, wifi access for her iPad and her papers delivered daily. In fact, she regularly compared her experience to that of staying in a top quality hotel. We cannot thank the Manager and her staff enough for the dignified and empathetic care that was shown to our Mum, and to us, especially during her last few days. They provided reassurance and communication throughout, both of which were very much appreciated. If you are considering a local care home, I would have no hesitation in recommending Moorgate.
I have no hesitation in recommending Moorgate. It is really well run, in a lovely location, always spotlessly clean, and residents seem happy. The person I have Power of Attorney for lived there for nearly three years and was very well looked after right to the end. A particular mention to the manager and the senior nurse, who were both very professional and caring.
I felt that the staff were excellent in looking after my mother for four years. They kept us informed of anything going on and also included Mum in lots of activities. The accommodation was very good set overlooking the moors in Yelverton.
My family and I have found Moorgate to be a very welcoming and caring residential home. Their attention to detail is excellent and take care of relatives not just their residents. We have always found it very clean and tidy. The staff are superb and very caring. They are always encouraging the residents to get involved in the various activities. We cannot thank Moorgate enough for the care and kindness in looking after Mum.
My auntie, after living on her own and becoming poorly, decided it was time for her to move into a care home. Moorgate has a very very good reputation and I believe is the best around here. The home is always very clean and tidy and always smells fresh. ALL the staff are thoughtful, caring and kind, nothing is too much and it is all done with love, compassion and kindness. My auntie was always treated with dignity, love and respect at all times. She enjoyed the activities and the variety of things to make and do. She felt secure at Moorgate knowing there was always help and support for her which was good for her and less worrying for me knowing she was okay. When other people went to see my auntie, they all said what a lovely place and homely. I cannot thank all the staff at Moorgate for all they do. Excellent care from everyone. I would recommend Moorgate. Well done each and every one of the staff there and a big big thank you for all you did for my auntie.
I would like to thank the director and all her staff for the excellent care given to my mum while she recently stayed for a week's respite, she enjoyed herself very much, a very friendly, clean bright home, highly recommend, many thanks for all your kindness and hard work, regards.
My mother spent the last twenty months of her life at Moorgate. We were so pleased to find such a wonderful home for her. The staff are so gentle, kind and patient. I honestly believe that there can be nowhere else that can provide this outstanding level of love and compassion towards everyone. This also extended towards our family when we visited. As my mother deteriorated there was always a kind shoulder to cry on. As I live a long way away and I had to stay in a hotel when I visited the open door policy was wonderful. I was welcome all day every day if I wanted. My mother loved the activities and the fact that there was always something happening to engage with. As she loved music she particularly enjoyed the live music sessions with dancing. As a Christian, she also appreciated the services. Thank you, Moorgate for making a difficult time so amazing. I can't name names but you lovely ladies need to be proud of what you do for families. Our family is so grateful to you.
We have been so fortunate to discover Moorgate as a home for our mother in her final four years. She was treated with dignity, love and care throughout her time as a resident. She was encouraged to join in the numerous activities throughout the week and enjoyed her privacy when it suited her. The facilities at Moorgate Care Home are first class and with their open visitor policy we were welcomed at all times and felt part of the extended family. The wonderful staff are who truly make Moorgate special. We cannot recommend this care home highly enough - and have done so already to friends who have been equally impressed to settle their relative there!
When it became impossible for our Dad to live independently we needed to look for a local care home to accommodate his needs. Moorgate Care Home was the obvious choice following our visits to other care homes. The management team and all members of staff were caring, kind and thoughtful towards both Dad and ourselves. We were informed of any issues and the regular monthly conversations relating to his changing needs were invaluable. The range of daily activities were extensive, including painting, games and regular outings to nearby areas. He was able to attend the memory cafe but undoubtedly his favourite activity became the dancing sessions! The food was excellent, there were choices available to residents and as family members, we were often treated to the afternoon cake baked on the premises. We are so grateful that Dad was able to spend the last few years of his life with such kindness, compassion and dedication and cannot thank them enough for everything they did for him.
My relative had advanced dementia so I decided that a home was the only option. I visited Moorgate several times before deciding it was the best in the area, I was always encouraged to "just drop in" and was always pleased by what I found. The director and manager could not have been more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Right from day one my relative has always received excellent care, the staff are always on hand to help and have been consistently friendly and supportive - to both of us. The level of activities on offer at Moorgate is just amazing, everyone's interests both past and present are incorporated into the theme and all encouraged to join in no matter how small a part. Moorgate really is a home from home and I was lucky to have found a room here when I needed it
