My brother, aged 99, had been a resident at The Homestead for 1-and-a-half years. He enjoyed the companionship and care. The staff were willing to do anything possible to make his stay comfortable. His sister aged 96, also a resident, was able to be at his bedside holding his hand for hours at a time which seemed to comfort him. We are very grateful!
As soon as I walked into The Homestead it was clear what a lovely home it is. The building itself is beautiful but what makes it especially lovely are the friendly, attentive and kind staff. We never wanted Mum to be in a residential home but that was before we realised how much happier she would be here and how lovely a place is to live. In just 2 weeks Mum is mentally and physically so much improved. I would recommend the Homestead to everyone!
Homestead is a lovely place to be. It is always warm and comfortable and calm and friendly. The staff are helpful and conscientious. They will make us a hot cuppa when I visit and are attentive yet respect everyone's need for time alone or chatting. There is plenty of space and lots of natural light at Homestead so it feels nice to wander around. There are lots of activities available to get involved with.
I have found The Homestead to be a wonderful place. My mum originally came for two weeks respite care. The home was so friendly and caring. My mum is now a permanent resident in a safe and caring environment. Good food and lovely staff.
The Homestead Elderly Residential Care Home has made a remarkable difference in all our lives. She is visibly happier and generally has more joie de vivre since moving there, largely thanks to the friendly staff, and peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. All the residents seem content and it's evident that the team genuinely cares about their well-being. What’s impressed me most is Homestead’s person-centred, individual but inclusive approach. They’ve welcomed both dogs and babies to visit, creating a vibrant and caring community for everyone to enjoy. Overall, it's a wonderful place where residents thrive in a supportive environment while staying close to family and little creatures that’ll offer a paw for biscuits.
From the moment my mum arrived, she was treated with kindness. All of the staff are caring and friendly. I am kept well-informed about everything. The food provided is lovely. The home always looks clean and tidy. There is a nice variety of activities available.
Fantastic care home. Amazing staff, excellent care. My dad is the happiest he's been for years.
In a time of family crisis in dealing with very frail relatives, The Homestead provided the most amazing service. Professional, caring, and personal; every day saw each member of staff show real compassion. I couldn't have wished for anywhere better for my father at this stage of his life. Thank you.
I have experience with many care homes over the last few years, one good, and the others barely adequate. However, I have to say that The Homestead outshines them all with its friendly and professional staff, choice and quality of food, and rooms and facilities. I am sure this comes down to having a long-standing Manager whose philosophy is to ensure the residents are happy and cared for. My husband is presently in respite care for three weeks there and says that when the time comes this is the home he wants to reside in permanently. He has exacting standards and so do I. Well done and thank you.
The staff is always kind and helpful and goes above and beyond. The home is in very good order. The food is very good and a nice garden to sit out in. Well managed by senior staff. Would most definitely recommend it to family and friends.
Granny is well cared for, staff are approachable and attentive.
I have been impressed with the care provided for my father since he entered The Homestead Care Home. The staff have responded well to his needs and shown great patience, kindness and flexibility in helping with his mobility. The staff are friendly, helpful and cheerful. The home is bright and clean and meals are varied and interesting. Carers seem to interact well with individuals and their needs. Activities are provided and any issues that arise have been dealt with well. I like the fact that the staff seem fond of my father and have made visitors welcome.
My father was very happy at The Homestead, he felt safe and very quickly started to refer to it as home. The staff cared for him very well and showed him a great deal of respect. He definitely enjoyed the food which he always said was delicious. Our experience showed that the care given was definitely tailored to meet individual needs. Over the time that my father was at The Homestead his needs changed and so did the care he received to suit those changing needs. My sister and I always felt very welcome when we went to visit him and the staff were always happy to chat to us on the phone between visits. They also regularly asked how we were showing that their care went beyond the client and was extended to their families. If asked would I recommend The Homestead the answer is a definite yes and if I ever have another elderly relative who needed care would I place them here then that answer is yes without hesitation!
The Homestead is like a home from home, so warm and welcoming. The manager and her amazing team looked after my mum with such love, care, patience and attention. Going into a residential home at 93 was a challenge for my mum and she certainly had her moments but she eventually settled in. We had such peace of mind that she was so well cared for and the manager and her team made us feel part of the family. I can't praise The Homestead enough, well recommended, thank you all.
Having seen for myself the care given, I can safely say I am very happy and satisfied that all needs are met to the best of capabilities. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Homestead to anyone whether to a friend or my own family.
Having had an accident, on leaving hospital, I had to have further recuperation. With trepidation, I was told I was going to a care home. From the welcome I received at the door of The Homestead, I felt like I was at home. The care I had was excellent, (kindness, help, nothing too much trouble). First class - from the domestic staff, nursing staff, management staff - all. I can honestly say that I felt like they are all an extended family of mine. In fact, I was so sad to say goodbye to everyone. Staff to be proud of.
The home appears to be very clean and comfortable. Access is very good for residents and visitors. Always very welcoming and considerate for visits. The staff are always available for helpful advice and updates on Mum's care. Staff are friendly and capable. Food sounds good and plenty of drinks are available. Nice surroundings and places to sit for residents and visitors inside, when allowed and in the well-kept garden.
My father-in-law seems very well cared for. The staff are very good at keeping us up to date with any changes in my father-in-law's health. The staff are always friendly and the Homestead is always clean, tidy and feels homely.
Homestead have always been very helpful and kind. I can phone and speak to anyone when needed. My mother probably isn't the easiest to look after due to dementia and forgetting things, but the staff I know have always been there for her and to reassure her. It's been very difficult over the last 18-months due to Covid for staff, residents and visitors, but they have always helped in whatever way they can. It's difficult to comment as everywhere is different at the moment due to Covid and not seeing Mum in her room.
My stepdad has been at The Homestead for four and a half years. Since my mum passed away two years ago, the manager and staff have taken the best care of him and supported the family through a very hard time. My stepdad says that "you found gold when you got us in here", and we have thought so ever since.
