View Full Details of Rest Haven CIOI cannot emphasise enough the care that Resthaven gives, not only to my mother but to me as well. Mum is always clean and comfortable. She has Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. Some days when I visit it can be really hard. Mum hasn't a clue who I am and I understand why. Sometimes the disease makes Mum angry and lashing out. I struggle with this but the staff are always on hand with sympathy and care. They also understand my health issues so no judgment if I don't visit as often as I should. Just so happy she is there. They are a godsend.
My mother has been at Resthaven for over 2 years now. The care given is excellent and all the staff are always cheerful and create a great atmosphere for the residents. There are daily activities for the residents which greatly help in both body and mind. As a visitor, you are always made to feel welcome. I would highly recommend Resthaven to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.
My mother-in-law joined Resthaven in January 2024 she loves it there! She is being well cared for and we as a family have peace of mind. The staff are all kind and friendly and very helpful. The ladies that look after the residents' activities are absolutely wonderful and so much fun!
Rest Haven is a wonderful home where such thought and attention are paid to residents. I usually sit with other residents when I visit my mum and the staff are unfailingly kind and respectful to the residents. The number of smaller day rooms means that only those who actually want to watch television are subjected to it. The food looks delicious and I can confirm that the warm-out-of-oven cake was scrumptious!
Rest Haven has been outstanding with their hands-on care and genuine kindness to the residents, my nan is incredibly happy since becoming a permanent resident in January this year. Two members of staff in particular are fabulous and really get the residents involved in activities. All the staff are amazing and we really can’t thank them enough for all they do.
This care home is amazing. The staff are very caring and welcoming. Residents are cared for with dignity. They have lots of activities and are not left without stimulation. The food is very good and caters for all diets and tastes. It is very welcoming to visitors and there are well-organised events put on regularly.
Visited a friend at Rest Haven. Staff are very kind, friendly and helpful.
We would like to have a review about an extra special day at Rest Haven where we celebrated our mum's 103rd birthday. Rest Haven gave Mum a really memorable day which included a special lunch of her choice with all residents, staff and family members in the dining room that has been decorated with personalised banners and balloons, birthday cake and a bouquet of flowers. After lunch we moved to a private room for more family members again banners and balloons here. Here we had the lovely cake and were served a choice of hot/cold/alcoholic drinks. Rest Haven made sure we had everything we needed. We cannot thank or praise them enough for a lovely day. In an already caring environment, thank you, everyone.
I took my 90-year-old mum to visit her life-long friend. The home felt very cosy and homely. Christmas decorations were going up. We were treated in a friendly manner and taken to our friend. The residents were being involved in decorating the tree, we were invited to join in. It was a really family atmosphere. Really impressed with the dignity and respect the residents were shown - the banter between the staff and residents and the whole ambience. Keep up the good work Rest Haven.
My husband attends Rest Haven for day care twice a week. The staff are always welcoming and there is a lovely caring feeling about the place. My husband always comes out with a smile on his face, which says a lot.
After mounting a sterling last-ditch defence in his bungalow, we were eventually obliged to concede defeat to his advancing dementia and move my father into a care home in June 2022 at the age of ninety-four. Fiercely independent throughout his life, he was initially a reluctant resident of Rest Haven, but the combination of kind, supportive staff and regular meals in a style to his liking gradually won my father around, enabling him to live out the remaining eleven months of his life in reasonable comfort and as much contentment as he remained capable of achieving. Communal areas have been organised thoughtfully to allow a positive ambience and communal activities are pursued with admirable conviction. Rest Haven encompasses several vintage houses, so personal rooms inevitably differ in size and aspect; my father's was small, but with the compensation of relative quietness. Overall, I found nothing to seriously criticise and much to admire. I am grateful that my father ended his days there.
Our mum and dad moved to Rest Haven CIO Care Home about a year ago, following the warm and professional staff who had moved from their previous home to take roles in Rest Haven. The transition was seamless and we were given great advice along the way. I wish you could have seen Mum and Dad's faces when they saw the people they'd become so attached to step out to greet them in their new home! The home itself is light and airy, has great views, beautifully kept gardens and a large, accessible outdoor space. All of the staff, whatever their role, are very friendly and approachable. It's part of the culture that Rest Haven should be one big community - all are welcome and included. When you visit, you can choose the best for you and your relative - one-to-ones or take part in activities with your folks or join in on trips and events. And, as things have changed with our parents' health, we've received great advice on the best way forward; we're not made of steel either! We highly recommend it.
My aunt moved to Rest Haven recently and is very happy there. The home is in a great location in Exmouth, and her room has views of the town and estuary. She is very well cared for and seems to enjoy a full programme of activities and good social interaction. The staff are caring and supportive and have clearly formed a close bond with my aunt. The manager was very welcoming and gave me a full account of life at Rest Haven. There is an ongoing programme of refurbishment, which will be to the benefit of residents and care staff.
I have had the privilege of being involved with Rest Haven for COVID 12 months or so. Previously, I had volunteered with talks and presentations at another care home which also employed many of those who moved to take employment in this current setting. At all times I have been welcomed in with open arms. There is nothing negative I have seen or can say about the quality of care/food activities or anything else provided by this establishment. Superb!
Our mum and dad both came to stay at Rest Haven at the same time. They both had very different needs and the staff delivered excellent care. The atmosphere is very homely and relaxed. Plenty of activities going on, which Mum really enjoyed and kept her motivated. Staff were excellent, management team and senior care staff professional and supportive to our and mum and dad's needs. Christmas decorations out of this world! We would highly recommend Rest Haven.
I have visited my cousin in Rest Haven on four occasions in the last year or so. Each visit has been an extremely positive experience. The home is clearly being brilliantly managed, the staff are all so kind, helpful and caring. There is a wonderful atmosphere, it is so evidently a place of love and compassion. The staff feel valued and supported, and the residents feel cherished and cared for. I worked for 20 years as a district nurse and visited many different homes, but Rest Haven is, I am sure, the best I ever came across.
This is a lovely care home. All the staff are kind and helpful. They are very accommodating with visits. They have lots of activities for the residents to keep them occupied.
It's always pleasant to visit Rest Haven. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is upbeat and happy. I feel reassured that my dear friend is well cared for and, whilst sad about his failing health, feel glad that he is looked after in such a homely place by lots of lovely people.
The outing for tea and cake was excellent. The residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The staff were excellent and the outing was well thought of.
My friend is 96 and has been here since October 2022. Overall, she is happy with her lot, but there are instances where this home needs to recognise that their residents are paying extraordinary rates per week and therefore maybe the rather tatty bedroom furniture should be addressed. Her room is warm and of adequate size, but her"view" is of a courtyard filled with rubbish. She has also come across members of staff that are somewhat dismissive of her requests, for example, she requests sandwiches for her evening tea yet this seems to fall upon deaf ears on numerous occasions. The home is undergoing decoration work and I feel sure it will look nice when completed. The staff that I have personally come across have all been kind and helpful. I can't comment on food standards, but my friend appears generally content. I would like to highlight the names of four members of staff that have been really helpful, but I am aware I have yet to meet so many others. Maybe in another review in six months?
