View Full Details of Sunnymeade Quality CareThis is an excellent home, second to none.
I have been visiting my wife who is a resident at Sunnymeade since September 2023. During that time I have had personal contact with all the carers, housekeepers and senior staff. During that time I have never had any doubts about the quality of care and kindness to the residents from all the staff. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble, if a resident asks for any tea, coffee, sandwiches or cake etc they provide it promptly with good humour. The premises are always kept clean and tidy, although recent upgrading of the fire alarms, CCTV and personal alarm systems has led to challenges, this work has now been completed and everything is now in good decorative order again. The common areas and residents' rooms are all well-decorated, furnished and comfortable. The residents receive excellent personal care and are always well-dressed, clean and tidy and well-looked after. A strict medication regime exists as does special diets required by residents. I visit the home on a daily basis and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.
The staff at Sunnymeade Quality Care Home are second to none. They all work so hard and always show my mum such kindness and compassion. I always notice that the staff always take the time when they come into Mum's room to have a few words with her and even go as far as to give my mum a hug once in a while. Her room and bathroom are always kept very clean, and the lady who cleans Mum's room always stops and talks to my mum, even though she is extremely busy on most days. I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and compassion.
I have found that Mum has really good care at Sunnymeade. The staff are always friendly and caring. I feel comfortable asking them about nursing care and her needs. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Excellent friendly home, the staff always go above and beyond to make our dad comfortable and feel at home, they always make sure he is clean and tidy and happy. There is always someone around to answer any questions we may have.
My husband has been in the care home for 6 months. During this time he has had several chest infections and the staff acted quickly to contact the doctor to get medication. My husband has lost a lot of weight and staff have organised extra food supplements and have given extra encouragement including extra treats and he has gained back some weight. At times he will not let staff wash or shave him and the staff are patient and try again later.
Sunnymeade often provides enjoyable parties for the residents during festive periods/significant calendar events, tailoring activities to the interests of the residents. The home has a more 'cozy' feel than many homes which particularly suits my dad e.g. carpeted floors and human-scale rooms. The staff are very friendly and seem happy, which is reassuring. Generally, has a more home-from-home atmosphere. Well managed and staff are always approachable, some go above and beyond with acts of kindness.
Excellent care and friendliness. Staff are caring and happy. Highly recommended.
Mum only recently moved into Sunnymease and didn't find the move out of her own home easy. However, everyone at Sunnymeade did all they could to help her settle. As a family, we all feel very pressured that Mum is now being very well cared for.
This care home has been exemplary in its care of my mother. We are happy knowing that she is being looked after by an amazing team. Love this care home and its staff.
I have always felt very welcome when coming to visit Mum. Mum has lived here for five years now, and we wouldn't dream of moving her. Staff have come and gone over the years, but it always remains the homely, safe, caring environment that is good for Mum and give us the reassurance we need.
My dad was in Sunnymeade for three months after being discharged from the hospital. It was in very difficult time for him as he should have been discharged home, but no care package was available. Due to Covid, he had to isolate in his room for two weeks, and no visitors were permitted. Despite this, the staff kept him in good spirits and were always happy to run the mobile phone up to his room so we could chat every day. My dad frequently commented on the quality of the food, and he quickly gained some much-needed weight. As my dad got stronger and restrictions reduced, I was able to take him out for a few hours. I experienced first hand the lovely atmosphere at the home for myself. Nothing was too much trouble, and the care given to my dad and the support given to me was outstanding. My dad was lucky to be a resident here and has fond memories of Sunntmeade. Thank you.
All I can say is having spent 2-months in there, I have nothing but praise for all the wonderful staff, for the love, care and attention I received. Every member of staff deserves nothing but the highest praise. The home is very clean, it’s a credit to the care system. The gardens are well maintained and beautiful as my granddaughter put it. Many thanks to everyone at Sunnymeade.
This is a fantastic home where everyone is so well looked after. Excellent communication, food home-cooked and on-site. All the staff are super friendly. Gardens are lovely, and well looked after; so is the home.
I would like to thank all the staff at Sunnymeade Quality Care for the excellent care provided to my late mother-in-law over the last five years. From day one you made her feel at home and a member of the family called Sunnymeade. Her birth home was Oxford but whilst on a visit to us in Chard, she broke her leg and due to some complications ended up in Sunnymeade. As it turned out was a lucky break, she soon warmed to the staff and soon regarded Sunnymeade to be her home from home, and on many occasion said she has never been happier. The day to day care has been excellent much better than we'd hoped for, the staff shows so much love and compassion you would think they are looking after members of their own family. When it came to end of life care they showed professionalism, along with incredible tenderness and respect which was tremendously helpful to the family. Lastly, I can't thank them enough for all they did for mum and us the family.
My mother came to Sunnymeade Quality Care from November 2011 until she passed away in December 2016. During her stay, she was treated with great dignity all the staff were wonderful. She always had plenty of choice for meals and enjoyed what she ate. She went on day trips which she enjoyed very much. There was always plenty of staff to make sure she was safe. They were wonderful to my mum and at times she could be difficult but that was never a problem. I really would recommend Sunnymeade to anyone. When my mum was on end of care one member of staff went beyond the call of duty and after doing a whole day shift came back to stay with her and my family all night until she passed on the Friday morning 16th of December. If that's not dedication I don't know what is. All the care staff loved my mum, many were in tears and came to say goodbye. Don't listen to any negative comments that are posted, nobody is perfect but I can promise you Sunnymeade are the exception. Many thanks.
