View Full Details of Bethany Christian HomeI was very impressed from my first visit that the residents were considered family and that this was a home for them. Within reason, Mum was allowed to take with her things that would make her room familiar and we could visit when we wanted to. There were many activities Mum could have joined in with but she preferred to stay in her room. The 'Humming Birds', two ladies with the task of having a daily positive interaction with the residents, is a lovely idea and Mum enjoyed seeing them every day. When Mum approached the end of her life, the support and care for her and me were exceptional. We were very fortunate to find this home for Mum in the last months of her life - if only every care home was like this!
I was impressed with the dedication and gentleness of the staff when treating a terminally ill patient. Staff seem to be very busy, and some small detailed things seem to have slipped a bit, but the overall sense I get is of a dedicated, caring, professional team of carers and support staff who want to give dignity, compassion, kindness and love to all of the residents. It is always a pleasure to go and visit the residents at Bethany.
I have found the staff very caring and respectful to their residents. The decor seems a little dated but the food and cleanliness is good and nourishing. My mother would like to see more events organised for the residents. She really enjoys the one she attends.
Food; always plenty of choice, portions generous. Management always helpful.
A very good care home with the highest standard of care. I am constantly checked and given pain relief - probably relating to kindness.
The Christian ethos is very evident and comforting. More staff would be helpful as it seems to be more of a nursing home rather than a care home. As a resident with full mental capacity, I find it difficult to cope with at times.
Pleased to be here. My gluten-free diet is always provided for. Have made friends with other residents. Enjoy watching birds outside my window. Have radio and television in my room. Particularly enjoy classical music and nature programmes. Look forward to more visitors and outings. Make full use of 'devotions'.
I have always found the Bethany management and staff caring, kind and willing to go the extra mile to ensure the residents feel safe and loved. This difficult year has been distressing for Mum as well as myself and my family. We are desperate to be close to Mum again, but Bethany has facilitated distanced visits and enabled contact through FaceTime, which has helped me to ease the separation.
The manager and her Team at Bethany can only be described as totally professional and caring, but not only to the residents ( my Aunt ) but the relatives also. Nothing is ever too much trouble for anyone I've come into contact with. My aunt has been at Bethany for nearly 6 years and during that time her care needs have changed greatly. Bethany have totally adapted and cared at every point of this development. My aunt describes the people around her at Bethany as ' her family ' I think that says it all.
My sister in law has been at Bethany for approximately 3 1/2 years and in all that time has been cared for to a high standard. Her personal and physical care needs are well met. She is happy and secure and her mental health is good. The staff are always friendly, rooms well care for an attractively decorated. The manager is very approachable and open to any concerns. I like the personalised nameplates on the dining table.
