An amazing atmosphere for supported living. All staff that I have encountered have been empathetic and helpful, encouraging and enabling residents to lead a life that encourages socialisation and practical independence when appropriate to the individuals capabilities and needs. The friendly staff dispense "care" with an emphasis on personalisation which is ideal as individuals preferences and needs vary greatly. Well done to all involved.
My mother was in Erith House for just over 7 years, and although it was a considerable distance away from where we lived we knew as a family that her care was exceptional. As a family, we cannot praise the staff enough, their dedication and the time they spent with Mum. It was as if they were a family unit and the residents were treated like family rather than clients. Being a carer brings many challenges on a day-to-day basis but the staff at Erith House were exceptional they had time and patience laughing and joking and when you live a distance away it puts your mind at rest. Even in the later stages of mum's life, I could phone at any time to get updated and when mum unfortunately passed to be told by phone was difficult but I must express my gratitude to the nurse who held my mother's hand and then to phone and let us know. Thank you to everyone at Erith House for embracing so much fun, laughter, kindness and love for mum.
I have been at Erith since 21st February 2024 after my previous care home closed. Everyone staff and residents have been very welcoming and kind which made such a difference at a very sad time. The management team are outstanding and so helpful, actually one has just asked me if there is anything they can do to make my life happier. Pop in sometime and see for yourself!
The manager has gone to lengths to ensure care is individual and patients' needs are fully understood. Very welcoming and the environment is always relaxing and smells amazing. The little details of how to improve a patient's and relatives' experience is very noticeable.
It is a very caring home, I’m happy my parents are living there. They are very understanding and always take time to listen to any concerns and they always keep me informed of the care needs of my parents.
Friendly kind and caring staff. Always made welcome. A friendly atmosphere, home from home. My sister is well cared for, she stayed in her room when she first arrived but now she is back to her old self and spending time with the other residents.
Mum has been a resident of Erith House for four years now. Over the last year, I have noticed a vast improvement in standards across the board. The main plus at Erith House is the staff. The current team are all amazing, in particular one staff member. I know that if I have a concern, then she will be right on it and action the necessary measures to get it sorted. The whole team though are lovely with Mum and she feels like they are extended family. They have always been wonderful to me too. The house has had a much-needed paint job and face lift recently, but the carpet in Mum’s room is rather threadbare, so could do with replacing due to a tripping hazard.
My mum spent the remaining one and a half weeks of her life in the wonderful care of the staff at Erith House who looked after her with such wonderful warmth, compassion and loving care in her final days. Mum passed with the peace and dignity she wanted and a big thank you to the manager and all the wonderful staff for honouring my mother's final request and for showing the wonderful warming care shown to not only myself but to my son and my son's partner.
Dad has been in Erith House for three years. He is so well looked after, the team are really friendly and always update me on how he is when I visit. The home itself feels lovely and spacious, it is always spotless and is being continuously updated and improved. I can’t recommend the home enough.
Coming to terms with old age for a parent, and also for family members who hope that their loved one is in a setting where his/her many needs are taken care of, is a transition that gives rise to anxiety. My mother and the family were blessed having moved Mum into Erith House. The room was large, bright and airy with plenty of sunshine. The garden was a favourite place to spend a few hours in the afternoon. The food choices were excellent and requests were honoured. Visitors came and went, meeting in the room or in the garden. But most of all - the carers were angels, addressing and supporting all the many needs my mum required. The care she enjoyed at Erith House was the best and brought comfort to us all, my mother, my family and the many friends who visited, knowing that she was in good hands. I will be ever grateful to all who work at Erith House where my mum resided for a few years.
I had a lovely experience, the staff and management are very friendly, caring and compassionate. Everyone is very thoughtful and happy to help. We live quite far away, so we can't visit very often, but it is always a pleasure to see that our friend is very well looked after.
Erith House is homely and has a relaxed atmosphere, the carers treat Mum with respect and alightness of spirit, which she normally responds well to. She loves the garden and gets a lot of pleasure from watching the birds on the tree outside her room. The carers take Mum into the garden when possible and recently sent me a super photo of her sitting in the sunshine. If Mum is ever poorly, the staff deal with whatever situation efficiently and contact me to discuss her treatment. There are normally great activities in the week, out of Covid times, and tasty food choices. On 'special days', they are very caring and thoughtful, for instance on Christmas Day while I window visited, Mum was helped to open her presents it was a happy day! I feel lucky that Mum is in safe hands and am made to feel welcome to chat/discuss any matters.
Dad was admitted to care after a challenging few weeks. Staff were welcoming and attentive, putting him at ease quickly. The transition, which could have been quite traumatic under Covid conditions, was achieved with minimum fuss and felt very safe. Erith House has been a Godsend and staff have made such a difference for Dad and for all of us. Thank you.
A very good atmosphere, most of the care staff are very patient with the residents. Food is excellent as well as care. Mostly the staff are very friendly. It would be nice if the manager popped in to see the residents more frequently, but I realise she is very busy.
My Mother has resided in Erith House for a few years. It is, without a doubt, a well organised, caring home with dedicated, professional staff. My Husband needs respite from time to time and he has no hesitation in commending their understanding of his needs and requirements.
Whatever we point out to the staff is acted upon and my mother has enjoyed the various outings organised by the Home.
My mum is currently a resident and my brother and I have spent a lot of time at Erith House over the last 2 -3 weeks. The staff are absolutely brilliant and as well as giving fantastic care to my mother. They have also gone out of their way to make sure that me and my brother are okay at a very difficult time for us. The food is absolutely delicious and all the carers and staff are so kind and caring. I am just so grateful that my mother was able to stay here. Keep up the excellent work and thank you so much for everything that you have done for my mum, my brother and me.
Grateful thanks to all the staff who struggled to come to work during the recent bad weather, especially those who stayed on after their shift to cover for absences. You are all local heroes. It's a tough job at the best of times but last week really put you to the test. Please be assured that we really do appreciate your efforts to look after our beloved elderly in the way we would like to be able to do ourselves. You are amazing.
Erith House is clearly the best care home in the bays. The staff are caring and attentive to my husband's health problems. He had a stroke 3 years ago and is now blind and immobile. He has been in Erith House for 2 and a half years and there is nowhere - apart from home - I would want him to be where it is warm and comfortable.
My mother has been at Erith House for nearly two years. The quality of care is outstanding in all respects: it is a safe, happy and loving environment where she feels at home, regarding the staff as not just her carers but her friends. She is clearly very well looked after, and during her recent illness, she has received very close monitoring. It is a positive environment with a happy atmosphere, offering interesting activities but allowing residents to choose how much they wish to participate: residents are treated with dignity and as individuals. The staff are open and friendly and I feel welcomed when visiting; I am kept well informed about my mother's health and well-being, which gives me great confidence. The building's interiors could benefit from a little updating, but that does not affect in any way the quality of care delivered. Erith House seems to be well-managed to high professional standards but runs on a human scale. I would recommend it highly to others.
