View Full Details of Denewood House Care HomeMum was a resident at Denewood House for eight months until she passed away in December 2024. Staff were always very kind, considerate, caring and treated mum with dignity and respect. Mum was always well dressed and her room always clean. Whenever visiting, I was always made welcome and offered refreshment. Any concerns raised with staff were always dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. Staff were very good at communicating any concerns they had about mum's health and carrying out her wishes.
My aunt was a resident at Denewood House for nearly 4 years she entered at 94 and I am convinced that she enjoyed another 4 years of life because of the care given to her by all the staff there. I cannot praise them enough, they are so kind, caring and loving nothing was too much trouble. My aunt was treated with dignity and she was very happy there. She passed away at the home last month and that's where she wanted to be, and I know she was loved and respected by all the staff there.
Thank you to all the staff for making it such a lovely day for my mum's 100th birthday on Saturday. All the guests enjoyed the entertainment you arranged, I thought the singer was lovely and he really wanted to please mum and make it a special day. I and everyone else were delighted with the beautiful blanket gift from Denewood, certainly a very special gift.
Following months of hospitalisation, my husband was admitted to Denewood House Care Home for 3 weeks of rehabilitation. I cannot speak highly enough of the care he received at this home. The entire staff showed great kindness, excellent professional care, empathy, understanding and encouragement to him whilst the chef and catering staff ensured that all their excellent food was presented to him in the most appetising form. The building itself is a comfortable, safe, spotlessly clean and homely environment with a peaceful, happy atmosphere whilst warmth, kindness and dignity have been encountered at every turn. I would certainly recommend this to anyone seeking a residential care home for a loved one or, indeed, for themselves!
My mother was resident at Denewood House November 2020 until she contracted pneumonia and died in hospital in December 2021. My mother, whilst dying at the hospital, suffered an attempt to gain personal information from a person purporting to be a family member. The hospital staff traced the telephone number to a landline at Denewood House. The hospital officially documented and reported the contact to Dorset Council. I reported the contact to the management of Denewood House & CQC. No resolution/outcome notified. Whilst at Denewood House a GDPR data release request was made for my mother. The information disclosed documented inconsistencies and inaccurate assumptions recorded by Denewood House staff. My mother stated she liked the food and staff at Denewood House; however, repeatedly stated to family she wished to move. This was disregarded when raised by family with Denewood House staff. My mother died in December 2021; personal property returned with two items of sentimental value broken.
