View Full Details of Eastbury HouseThe most kind and caring staff - excellent food and activities. Highly recommended.
I feel very lucky and grateful to be here as on admission I was very unwell and was nursed back to health.
I think that you supply a homely and comfortable environment. I feel safe and secure here as the staff are very observant of any change in health.
I have found over the last 3 1/2 years, the staff and management of the Eastbury House in Sherborne to be its greatest asset. I have visited many homes in the last 20-30 years and think that the Eastbury team's care, kindness and respect shown to its residents are second to none. This is the most important criterion for my mother and her children when opting for the Eastbury.
Eastbury House is run by a warm, kind and helpful team. The residents are happy, well-dressed and are treated with dignity and respect. The old house, which has many original features, is tastefully furnished and decorated; it smells fresh and clean, yet feels cosy, and it has a happy, feel-good vibe surely felt by all who live, work, and visit this charming home. There is a full timetable of daily activities. Residents choose their meals every day from a delicious menu with plenty of choices. There are several vases of fresh flowers including on the dining tables, often picked from the delightful large walled garden which has a summer house, a seating area and even a vegetable patch! Mum has a large room with two windows and a new carpet. She loves to care for her collection of plants and she has plenty of room for visitors to sit and enjoy a cup of tea with her.
Always very impressed with the friendliness of support given to both residents and family. We have a lot of confidence in Eastbury House. So important when we live 2-3 hours away.
I heard a lady in the hallway explain to the person she was with that Eastbury House is full of love and that she wouldn't leave her mother anywhere else. I stopped and said I have to agree, the care and love I have seen there is second to none. Everyone is kind, and Dad said today how good all the staff are to him.
Having stayed for a couple of respite visits, my mum has now been a full-time resident for the past year. I can not fault the care, staff, activities and food. It really feels like a home rather than an institution, and as it is small, this means there is personal care and attention. I would highly recommend it and have done so already on many occasions.
I am impressed by the level of care and understanding given to my mother by all the staff. They treat her with respect and dignity and also love. I have also been impressed by the care and concern given to myself, and the support I have received when I visit. The food is all fresh and the meals are nutritious and tasty with a choice of courses. The place feels, as much as it is possible, like a home from home.
I have known Eastbury House for many years. What always continues to strike me is the friendly homely atmosphere. All the staff are so welcoming, happy and professional. I can’t speak highly enough of the home and will continue to recommend it.
The staff at Eastbury are all so warm, friendly, caring and welcoming. There is always something going on for the residents to do, including trips out. The residential home is definitely home from home. Thank you to everyone for making us so welcome and comfortable.
My grandad was always well cared for and happy at Eastbury House. There were always lots of activities and options for residents although grandad often liked to sit quietly in his room and watch TV or chat with staff and other residents. The staff were very kind and caring and always welcomed us with tea or cake.
Eastbury House provided a wonderful home and an outstanding quality of care for my mother for the last ten years of her life. This truly is an exceptional place with wonderful cheerful staff who put a great deal of effort into creating a homely non-institutional atmosphere and into getting to know the residents and to ensuring that all aspects of their lives are as good as they can possibly be. Very good home-cooked food with a lot of choice, along with a beautiful garden and lots of activities and outings tailored to residents' individual interests all add to the quality of the service that they provide. As my mother's care requirements increased and she finally became completely bedbound and dependent on assistance with all her basic needs they looked after her with great sensitivity, providing a familiar reassuring home for her until the end.
My mother enjoyed her 2-week stay at Eastbury House. She enjoyed her meals and being able to dine with the other residents. She also enjoyed the activities, especially the quizzes. She had tea in the garden when the weather allowed and says that she made some nice new friends. She was well looked after and was able to take the opportunity of having her hair done and her feet attended to by the chiropodist. She looks forward to returning again soon.
My father joined Eastbury House in the height of lockdown due to very sad and unexpected circumstances. Even though Eastbury House were under extreme pressure with covid and lockdown, every member of staff was professional, caring and friendly. Now, 2 years on, dad is settled and happy. I take my hat off to the team at Eastbury House, as all have helped deal with my emotional journey too! Thank you, each and every one of you.
Eastbury House is a very special place, like home from home. The house is wonderfully old, eccentric, and charming, like most of the residents! The staff are extremely friendly and respectful, listening to the residents properly and treating them as individuals and equals. I feel that my mum has become part of the family there. She likes the home-cooked food and the fact that she can have a drink before dinner, and it is served at a reasonable time (a couple of other care homes we looked at were serving the evening meal as early as 5 or 5.30pm). There is a slight lack of communal space but this is currently being addressed. Now the restrictions are lifting there are more visits and outings, and more activities happening.
Put simply, the staff cared.
My mother moved into Eastbury House after suffering a stroke and she has settled in extremely well. I cannot fault the care she is given. The staff are without exception kind and patient and she appears to be well looked after with all her needs met. I am very happy with the level and quality of care given.
My mum had a truly wonderful weeks stay, she was very happy and loved the excellent food. The staff each and every one of them are totally amazing. The love within Eastbury oozes out. Mum has said she would love to go again. I felt as her carer normally that she was 100% plus safe and extremely well looked after in every aspect.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Eastbury House. It doesn't feel like a care home. My mother has been looked after with compassion and expertise throughout her time there. The staff are caring, competent and reassuring. I always feel that my mother is in the very best of places. There is always an ambience of "home". Everything possible is done to make the residents feel comfortable and part of the family. It is simply wonderful!
