View Full Details of Primrose Lodge WeymouthWent to Primrose Lodge to see my mother-in-law. I was made to feel very welcome from the moment I arrived. Nothing seems too much trouble, staff very kind and helpful. Home always smells fresh and looks tidy and residents are happy and well cared for. This has been the case on every occasion I have been there.
I am writing this review in the midst of the covid-19 crisis. Times like this really challenge places like Primrose Lodge and it's usually when you get to see how well they really stand up to pressure and scrutiny. The team have been incredible. Primrose Lodge had exceeded my expectations before Covid, but during this difficult time, they have been extraordinary. It is so reassuring to know that my mum is in a safe, happy and comfortable environment. The communication from Primrose Lodge has been fantastic. Telephone and digital/facetime contact with relatives has been arranged. Nothing is too much trouble. I will always be grateful for the care, compassion, professionalism and optimism that abounds at Primrose Lodge. Care homes like this are only as good as the people who run them. This is an exceptional team and a fabulous place.
My husband spent the last ten months of his life in Primrose Lodge. I could not have wished for a better place for him to be. The care, love and compassion he received was way beyond my expectations. It truly was a home from home. The staff not only cared for him but for me and the rest of his family. We all felt cared for and welcome. I never once heard a cross word or impatience with anyone. To see your loved one spend their last days happy is all anyone could wish for.
This is the first month for my sister to go into a care home after 87 years independent living. We were both concerned about how she would cope going into a home. The staff could not have been nicer dealing with her concerns confirming that this was the right home for us.
December was a busy month for the home and Mum has settled in now and seems a lot happier. The staff 'went to town' with Christmas decorations and a busy programme for the residents, and also including their families, was planned. Entertainers were visiting virtually on a daily basis. A Christmas lunch at a local restaurant, a trip to the pantomime and a Christmas party to which everybody was invited. Even Santa showed up! It was probably the best Christmas my mum had had for quite a few years. Well done.
Since my mother has been a resident in Primrose Lodge she has been treated with respect, kindness and excellent care. As a relative, I am made welcome and indeed feel as if I am walking into a 'proper' home. The activities (which are not obligatory) are varied and unexpected, with the added value of trips out to varied locations and a Christmas meal (with families and guests) at a local pub. The management are always accessible and willing to listen. The home also benefits from 'The Friends of Primrose Lodge' who hold fundraising events during the year.
The manager was both welcoming and professional. The home is clean and there are lots of activities for the resident to participate in. The staff are kind and treat the residents with respect - they truly seem to care. Mother-in-law says the quality of food and choice is excellent - her only criticism is that she can't always decide! It was very emotional for her to leave her home of 60 years and move into care but Primrose Lodge has made the transition so much easier than anticipated.
Primrose Lodge looked after my father with 5-star service. Nothing was to much trouble. Cannot praise enough. Amazing.
Staff very pleasant, you are made to feel most welcome. Food is excellent and plenty of it. Lots of activities to keep you entertained. Would recommend this home to others.
We are delighted that dad is so happy here. His room is lovely, the staff are wonderful and he has made new friends. A wonderful care home.
Primrose Lodge exceeds every expectation I had for a care home and I am very happy.
My mother's arrival to Primrose Lodge was beautifully handled. Prior to her arrival, we were able to arrange her room with home comforts; painting, photos, bed linen and clothes plus a few items of furniture with the kind help of the caretaker, so as to ease the transition. All the while the staff were kind and helpful and cheerfully attended to any request. There are activities where guests are encouraged to join in or not, whichever suits the individual. Fresh fruit and a lovely sweet shop add to the pleasant feeling of comfort. As a visitor, the staff are always welcoming and the whole house appears fresh, lively and fragrantly clean no matter what time of day one turns up for a visit. My mother has resided here since 12th January 2017 and has settled in well, greatly aided by the managers kind acceptance of mothers little dog who enjoys lovely kind attendance from the staff who help mother with her on a daily basis.
I find this care home for my father really great, staff are kind, considerate and nothing is too much trouble. Food is very good and the rooms are lovely. Lots of activities and superb service for all elderly people, I was worried when my father went to the home, but even my worst fears have been completely dispelled.
I feel very happy to know that my Mother is being cared for in such a lovely care home with a lovely family atmosphere. Management and staff are all very caring and helpful. When we were looking for a care home for my Mum we were recommended Primrose Lodge by a friend and at our first visit I knew this was the right place for her.
Primrose Lodge is a caring, friendly and professionally managed care home. The management and staff encourage the family and friends to play an active roe in the wellbeing and social aspects of residents. To this end it has a very vibrant family and friends association that among other things raises funds that directly go towards the residents social programmes. There is always a cheerful atmosphere amongst the whole staff despite the pressure they face. The residents are always immaculately dressed and groomed and this is entirely due to care given by the staff. It may not have all the trappings of a five star hotel but it delivers five star care to its residents.
We were given very good information and allowed to look round the home to our convenience. It was also very clean and the staff very helpful. Everything we wanted to know we were told.
My mother spent the last three years of her life at Primrose Lodge, she was happy there, very well cared for and when she was up to it enjoyed the little trips out. She looked forward to the activities which were available to her and getting her hair done by the visiting hairdresser. Towards the end of her life when she became more difficult to look after, the staff were caring and compassionate and always kept my sister and myself informed. I would happily recommend Primrose Lodge to anyone looking for a care home for a loved one.
I couldn't be happier or as at ease with the care and consideration and support dad has received since he first started living at Primrose Lodge, July 2015. All the staff are dedicated to the task at hand and create as far as is practicable a family atmosphere. Lots of activities and trips out create a social and sociable atmosphere.
