The staff are friendly, professional and most importantly very caring. My Mum recently moved from a care home in Wiltshire where she was ignored, under-stimulated, and on twice the amount of co-codamol needed. In Wiltshire, she was left to be a vegetable and given no help with speech, etc. Here at Shire House, they all do their utmost to help and stimulate, my Mum is ferally happy!
Wonderful, caring place that goes the extra mile for residents. Interactions with residents is exemplary and a marked improvement on my Mother-in-law's previous care home. Can't thank the staff enough.
Shire House is a very welcoming residential home, from the moment one of the smiling members of staff opens the door, immediately makes you feel at home. The staff, without exception, are kind, caring, and thoughtful, often going above and beyond for both residents and their families. It is so reassuring to know that all aspects of Mum's care are in the hands of such an excellent, hard-working team. Thank you.
Mum was made to feel safe and welcome from the start. She has settled in well.
Excellent standard of care! I have had to go into many nursing/residential care homes as part of my role and can say this place is the best of the best. The carers are exceptionally skilled, knowledgeable, attentive, and caring. The home is exceptionally managed resulting in happy staff and residents. The medical management of the residents is proactive and of an exemplary standard. There are also involving and engaging activities for the residents. As a relative, you really can concentrate on being able to interact with loved ones on a personal level as all other care needs are looked after to an excellent level by the home.
I am very happy and feel well looked after and cared for, the staff are all very kind and helpful.
I cannot fault the care my grandad receives at Shire House, it has a warm and friendly atmosphere and it certainly is a home away home. Shire House is always clean and tidy and there is always tea and biscuits. The staff are always more than happy to answer any questions you may have, nothing is ever too much trouble. The residents receive fun and fulfilling activities that always put a smile on their faces.
My brother seems happy and content. It's comforting to know he is well taken care of.
The care for my grandad is outstanding. The time and patience each member of staff takes every day to make sure he is clean, tidy and comfortable and nothing is too much trouble. They all greet you with a warm welcome and offer cups of tea and biscuits. The activities coordinator is always thinking of new fun ideas to keep everyone entertained. Hats off to the staff who put together their first summer garden party where all the family could attend and fun had by all.
The surroundings and ambience are first class and the atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed. The staff are efficient while being patient.
Shire House is a lovely, caring, friendly home. Always made to feel welcome. Excellent care is given to family member. Always laughter in the home. Great communication from all staff.
Dad has settled really well. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. We always feel welcomed and comforted in the knowledge that dad is very well cared for. Thank you.
My husband has settled well. Staff are always gentle and courteous. Always make me and my family feel welcome.
The staff and carers are very friendly and treat my aunt and residents with dignity, efficiency and affection. They are all available for consultation/queries and are very accessible. As a family member, I am welcome and can visit as long as I need. I know my aunt is well cared for, entertained and given appropriate medication to make her life easier, pain-free and less anxious. The meals/snacks are nutritious and yummy.
Since moving here I have settled in well. The staff are friendly and responsive to my needs. The home is situated in a nice area and the garden is lovely to sit out in. My visitors are always welcome.
My mother has been a resident of Shire House for nearly five months, after I moved her to be closer to me. The staff managed the transition very efficiently and have impressed me with their kind and careful attention to my mother's needs. They are always welcoming whenever I visit and make sure I am kept properly informed regarding my mother's health etc. They have a stable staff team with a consistently caring ethos; they all know the residents well and create a safe and homely atmosphere for everyone. The staff pay attention to the small things that make a real difference to residents' quality of life; whether it's making sure they are properly dressed, sitting comfortably in the most appropriate chair or getting to eat their favourite food. The home also has a wonderful activities organiser who goes above and beyond to get everyone joining in and entertained. As a result, it is generally a happy place to visit, and I feel confident that my mother is well looked after.
My dad has lived at Shire House for over four years and has always been treated more like a family member than a paying service user, with genuine affection and connection. I am also made to feel welcome on visits to my Dad. The staff have always been attentive to Dad's needs when he been experiencing health and other difficulties. I have peace of mind knowing my Dad is happy and well looked after, and would confidently recommend Shire House to others.
The care at Shire House is second to none. All the staff are amazing, they care for my Dad who has dementia like he was a member of their own family. They are kind, friendly and always welcome you with a smile, nothing is too much trouble. The staff always keep me well informed if Dad is feeling out of sorts. He is always well-dressed, impeccably clean and well-shaved. The activities coordinator is always going above and beyond to produce well-structured activities for the residents and going that extra mile to make sure all the residents are comfortable and having a great time. I feel very fortunate to have found such a home as Shire House and feel confident my Dad is having the best care.
The care my husband gets at Shire House is excellent. The staff are very good with my husband who is non-verbal. They know what his needs are, this is due to them being able to understand his needs, which is not easy. They treat their residents as they would be treated in their own home, which is excellently run by their manager.
Everyone is lovely.
