View Full Details of Streets MeadowMy Mum moved to Streets Meadow recently from another care home, and the care she has received is incomparably better. All the staff are very kind and attentive. They always seem to have time to respond to a bell, but also regularly pop in to check on Mum who is permanently in bed. They are gentle when they are caring for her. Thank you Streets Meadow.
My Mum has been living in Streets Meadow since January 2023. The staff here are exceptional in all areas. Kind and caring, nothing is ever too much trouble. Mum always tells me how lovely all the staff are to her, and I see this for myself on my weekly visits. I feel they really focus on what each resident enjoys, Mum is very sociable and the activities they provide are excellent, from regular trips to Wimborne to crafts and activities within the home. In the past, she has enjoyed a day at the zoo and they will be taking her to a pantomime this Christmas. Streets Meadow is a lovely homely place, and I couldn't be happier with the care that Mum receives.
My mum has been in Streets Meadow since February 2023 and sadly passed away there on 10th August 2023. The care she received was five star plus, plus plus, from all the wonderful day and night staff on purple unit. We sat day and night with Mum over the last six days of her life and all the staff were just as kind to my husband and I. We cannot thank them all enough, they are true angels.
My wife spent 18 months in care that could not have been bettered. I also spent a week with her due to my operation, so I can personally verify that at no time could the standard of care be higher. Very caring staff, happy atmosphere, as near home conditions as could be wanted. If I need care, this is the place for me!
Since moving my gran to Street Meadows, we have been made to feel welcomed as well as reassured by all staff and residents. The staff are always enthusiastic and encouraging with all their residents, involving them in daily and weekly activities. This has ensured a safe daily routine for all residents at Street Meadows. The level of support for people who struggle with movement, disabilities or old age has meant we now have the free time again for social activities together. I am thankful to all the staff for making the transition from home-care to care-home as easy as they have - thank you.
My mum transferred to Streets Meadow from hospital following a minor stroke. She was very anxious and fearful at the time of being alone. She had previously been in respite following hospital visits but had never settled. Streets Meadow welcomed her and put her at ease from the very beginning. It was a very easy decision to make that Mum would stay at Streets Meadow full time. She now calls her room home. Staff take her out in her wheelchair for fresh air, a coffee, walks around town. She has also recently enjoyed a visit to the local theatre. On my visits, I have found Mum involved in flower arranging, coffee mornings, sitting in the garden having ice cream and a number of other social gatherings. Our family all say how lucky mum has been to find such a caring home as Streets Meadow and how much they appreciate all the staff for all they do for Mum.
Streets Meadow is a well-designed and maintained facility. The care and support they supply for residents, and especially my father, are kind and considerate. Their catering is well-liked by the residents, especially my father. They do provide a varied and interesting diet with special treats at least one day a week. Providing activities post-Covid has been a challenge, and Streets are just getting back into providing a varied and interesting series of sessions to engage and amuse the residents.
My dad is a resident at Streets Meadow. Although it is sad for us as a family that we can’t care for my dad, we are so pleased with the attention he gets from all the staff. We know he is in the best place getting first-class care. Everyone we have come into contact with reinforces this. We, as a family, feel very included and are also treated really well by all of the staff. We can’t give enough praise. Special thanks to three particular members of staff and the management staff, and also to all the other staff we don’t get to meet who look after our dad.
Our mum went to Streets Meadow on an interim placement from the hospital after a fall. She was hoping to be able to return home, so it was difficult for Mum to accept that she needed full-time care. However, the team at Streets Meadow made it a place where eventually, Mum was happy to stay. The staff really care about the residents and provide varied activities for them where possible, which our mum appreciates and needs. Thank you to you all.
My wife has been resident in one of the dementia units at Streets Meadow since September 2021, and I've been very impressed with the level of care provided. The home itself is owned by the council and was totally rebuilt about 15 years ago, so is not ultra-modern. However, the staff are outstanding and always very helpful and friendly. The rooms and communal areas are always very clean, and there is a wide range of social activities arranged by the two social organisers. The home is located close to the town centre, so it is easy to take residents into the shops and cafes, either by walking or by wheelchair. Overall, the home is highly recommended, and I am very pleased that my wife managed to get a place in Streets Meadow.
Finding a suitable care home for my brother was not easy as he was still relatively young at 64 years, but suffering from the debilitating effects of MS. The first care home was dreadful, but fortunately, I had put his name down for Streets Meadow should a vacancy arise. Within a year, a vacancy did arise and he has now resided there for over four years. The care he has received has been second to none. The staff are consistent and therefore have got to know him well and fully understand his needs which have recently become complex, particularly with his swallowing. The staff have formed a wonderful relationship with him and he feels safe and secure. Knowing my brother is cared for so well has brought me peace of mind, the staff communicate with me on a regular basis and accommodate my concerns and worries. The home is always warm, welcoming, exceptionally clean and without any unpleasant odours found in other homes. I cannot praise Streets Meadow enough and highly recommend.
Our family have had a very difficult time over the past year finding the right way to care for mum. We wanted to help her to be as happy as possible given her current difficulties. Trying to provide care at home and an initial attempt at moving to residential care were unsuccessful. However since moving into Streets Meadow in August mum has been more settled from the start. The staff are very caring and professional and care for each person as an individual, maintaining their dignity at all times. Mum is generally much happier than she has been for a long time and I thank everyone at Streets Meadow for their help and care.
The manager and her staff run an excellent home, and I am very happy that my Gran is lucky enough to be at Streets Meadow. My Gran has trouble with her short term memory, and the staff respond positively, giving reassurance when needed, treating her with respect. The home is very clean and has a relaxed atmosphere, positive to both residents and visitors. The food is good, varied and plentiful. The activities coordinator does a fantastic job, as does everyone, and she could not be cared for any better than she is here. Thank you everyone at Streets Meadow!
My husband has been in Streets Meadow since May 2014, having gone in there after I could no longer cope. I was unsure if I should have put him in the home but now realise that it was the best thing for both of us. Everyone in Streets has been there for me and I feel reassured about his care, he appears happy and very well looked after. His well being is foremost to everyone. I would also say that the home is always very clean and very friendly.
