View Full Details of Primrose Lodge SouthbournePrimrose Lodge is like one happy family. Everyone is so caring and helpful, my wife is very happy there and I'm so pleased I chose Primrose as her care home.
My 96-year-old mam attended daycare. She was very nervous as it was the first time she'd been out for two years on her own. The staff were very reassuring to her and us. We dropped her off at 10.30 am and picked her up at 4 pm. She'd had a wonderful time and was truly bright-eyed and happy. She loves it! The staff were above and beyond. Thank you, all of you.
My mum moved into Primrose Lodge Southbourne on the 4th of February a few weeks before her 90th birthday. she has dementia. She was very lonely and lost confidence to go out and I got carers but they didn't help at all. Now my mum is clean, happy, fed well and smiles all the time. All the staff are great they take my mum to the beach, garden centre and she enjoys the music.
Absolutely fabulous Care Home. Lovely staff, great support, and lovely surroundings for everyone to enjoy. Plenty of entertainment to join in and loads of space to relax and enjoy. Rooms are a good size and have good facilities too.
Mum has been at Primrose Lodge for some ten months and has settled remarkably well. When I visit, the staff are always friendly and cheerful. The first thing I notice is how lovely Mum looks, as a lot of care has been given to her appearance, her clothes match and her hair looks nice. When I phone they have time to tell me how she is and will phone if there are any changes to her condition - this is particularly important as I live over 30 miles away. Mum's room is clean and bright and I know that she is well looked after. Thank you to all staff at Primrose Lodge.
Since moving to Primrose Lodge the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure Mum has settled and is physically and emotionally well. They have taken time to get to know her as a person and she has commented that since changing to this new care home she feels so much more like her old self. Staff are fun and caring about predigestion, always going over and above to ensure residents are valued safe and supported. I can’t thank them enough for all they have done for Mum in helping her to feel valued and understood as a person. I thoroughly recommend this home to others. Their practice during the current pandemic has both taken account of the impact on mental and physical health and has enabled us to visit her with social distancing and hygiene protocols in place.
May I refer to the care home Primrose Lodge in Southbourne, Bournemouth, whom I congratulate for their immediate reaction of the virus outbreak when immediately known by making the decision to closing the home to all visitors thus protecting their residents from day one. All their actions are I am glad to say being repeated throughout the UK. Not only did they protect their residents, but they also made the arrangements for entertaining the residents with musical and other types of entertainment by having outdoor entertainers visiting and entertaining through the windows and patio entrances. This I again note is now being copied by many homes throughout the UK with great success. I have been a visitor to the home over the past three-plus years and note that during that time my respect for the management and carers has grown. This care home deserves having this report made public to those in charge, in appreciation of their valued service.
I can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work and care to make my mother's 97th birthday party with the family so enjoyable. They are so patient and caring and do everything they can to make the residents comfortable and looked after. There is a lovely happy atmosphere at the home and nothing is too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend it.
Facilities and safety/security are good. Staff and level of care are excellent. Maintenance is satisfactory but cleanliness is good. Food is unimaginative but of a satisfactory standard. Activities are patchy, but I understand this is because of staff shortage in this area at present.
My friend’s dad was in this care home and I cannot fault the service he received from the start. Management and staff are outstanding and made his family feel comfortable and calm when making a decision to put him into a care home. When I visited him, he seemed so content and happy. The staff were always around if needed and nothing was too much trouble, we never felt we were being a ‘nuisence’. This home should be outstanding and I highly recommend this home. Home from home, absolutely amazing.
Since moving to Primrose Lodge my mother has blossomed and begun to enjoy life, relating to other residents and joining in a variety of activities. Besides all this, she is cared for by a wonderful team of carers who study her needs and make her welcome and comfortable. I would recommend this care home to others needing care.
My father moved into Primrose Lodge as he was not really coping at home. Primrose Lodge has a lovely family atmosphere. As soon as my father moved into Primrose Lodge, the experienced and caring staff recognised the care that he needed. The staff at Primrose Lodge have called in health professionals when appropriate and have encouraged my father to go into the sunny and friendly lounge. The management staff offered my father the opportunity to move to a ground floor room when he became anxious about his room being on the second floor. This has been a successful move. Visitors are made to feel welcome.
I'm happy with the care my brother-in-law receives. He is always well represented when I visit which varies each week. The meals look very tasty and he seems very happy. The staff are good and helpful with him and myself.
My Sister-in-Law is very happy, she likes all the very kind staff. They speak very respectfully to everyone. There are activities most days and my Sister-in-Law is looking forward to her first outing at the end of the month. The manager and her staff are very approachable and understanding. We, the family, are very pleased that we have found a home from home for our relative. Ps. You can have a late breakfast if you want to lie in!
My father moved into Primrose Lodge when it was decided he was not coping living on his own. Prior to the move, he was having difficulties with his own personal care, eating problems, was depressed etc. From day one he had a new zest for life, was far more happy, contented, active and this has continued during the last five months. In my opinion, this a miracle is due to the professional management and staff at Primrose who clearly have a great deal of knowledge, experience, and commitment in caring for the elderly. Primrose Lodge feels like a “home”, a good atmosphere and visitors are warmly welcomed. The staff are always helpful and friendly and have excellent relationships with the residents. Regarding the facilities: the rooms, lounge, dining room are homely environments. The meals have choices, much of the food is homemade and very tasty. There is a varied and interesting activity programme and trips out. My father has benefitted greatly during the time he has been at Primrose.
Husband has been here four months - Settled in really well. Care is excellent - quick to contact professional medics when required and very attentive. Food is good - a very warm, comfortable home.
My dad has been here for a few weeks. Lovely friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. Every day when we visit my dad, he's always smiling and having tea and cake and trying to laugh and has settled in very well. Any questions we ask are always answered.
