View Full Details of Coastal LodgeMy mother spent several, much needed weeks, of respite in Coastal Lodge after breaking her arm badly. All the staff there were very kind and looked after her very well. She went in with very little confidence after her fall but gradually gained more strength and self confidence with the care and physiotherapy they provided for her. The food was good and the rooms were warm and clean. Many thanks, from mum and her family, to you all.
The site is very quiet so unless the person in the next room is deaf and turns the TV up loud you will get a good night's sleep. The staff are lovely, kind caring & professional although some of the agency staff need more training? Food is bland and boring, breakfast is cereal and toast. Lunch is the only cooked meal, potatoes are hard and food tasteless. The evening is a cup a soup and sandwiches, usually ham, cheese or egg mayo made with egg white - no yolk? Food choice gets boring quickly. Desserts are usually nice, fruit or cake with custard. There is no medical attention. If you have an issue you are told to phone your own Doctor. Personal hygiene is a struggle. There is a small sink in the room but otherwise, you have to use the shower room. Great if you are able-bodied but if not you will need help from the staff who are usually too busy. You are told ask later, ask tomorrow or ask someone else, or we have run out of time.
I was a resident here during part of March/April 2024 and I would like to say a huge thank you to every member of staff I was in contact with during my rehab after I fell and broke my right femur. Everyone was so lovely and caring towards me and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good with a varied menu every day and of course a lovely Sunday roast. All the staff, carers, therapists, cleaners well everyone I was in contact with was kindness itself. So thank you again.
Mum has recently become unstable and lost confidence. Local hospitals have been there but under their own constraints, there is a desperate need for the gap after hospital and a return to home. Coastal Lodge Care Home, its structure and staff, I cannot thank enough. Their time and dedication to the patients' guests. Their vision to take steps and fill the missing gap. Mum has achieved the goal to move slowly toward the greater goal of being at home with ongoing life support. Everybody at Coastal Lodge is easily approachable. The service they give is first-class. A+.
What a lovely place. We cannot praise it enough. Following a fall, my mother was transferred there from Poole General Hospital for rehabilitation and ongoing nursing care. As a family, we were very happy with her care and treatment throughout her stay. The standard of care was exceptional. The staff friendly, helpful, empathetic, compassionate and very professional. Food and catering was of a high standard, with good quality food and menu choices, plus tea, coffee available throughout the day. Our mother spent 6 weeks here and the input from the Occupational therapy team and physiotherapy was the best I have come across, with daily therapy and excellent communication regarding her treatment goals and discharge planning. The premises are very clean and well maintained with good levels of security. Access and parking were very accessible, which was essential to us when bringing our father to visit mum. A massive thank you to all the team who made our mother's stay comfortable.
The Fearnes held a summer fare on Sat 18th July. It was a nice way to chat to other family members and to think we are all one big family. We are all going through the same thing together as a carer, family member etc. and the care of the patient is of upmost importance. The Fearnes offers a high level of care and compassion.
