View Full Details of Faithfull House Residential CareThe carers always spoke to my sister before anyone else in the room; she acknowledged this with a smile, even when she didn't remember very much. She could at times be very feisty but they always responded with calmness and patience. Everyone was welcoming to all her visitors. We were treated like one of the family; when towards the end, I spent a night with her. I was shown great courtesy and I felt in good safe hands, as well as my sister. All the staff were approachable and helpful; she was offered alternatives in activities and also in meals. These courtesies intended to all the staff, laundry, handy people, dining room and kitchen staff. Thank you.
My 92 year-old mum had been fully independent until September 2024, when she was hospitalised due to a urine infection. Unfortunately, she contracted further infections whilst in hospital and was very unwell. She developed delirium, which caused all sorts of problems, including hallucinating and not recognising us, which was awful. Mum went to Faithfull House for assessment, where she has been provided with excellent care by the patient, kind and cheerful staff. Mum enjoyed the Christmas activities and much effort went into making the place look lovely. She has now expressed a view that she does wish not to return to living on her own, which I'm sure has much to do with the social interaction at Faithfull House. The home-cooked food is lovely and mum's gone from not eating very well and losing a lot of weight, to enjoying her food once again. Her room is adequate but I presume those of long-term residents may be superior. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make her stay so comfortable.
During the time my sister resided in Faithful House I was impressed by the level of care and humility displayed by all the staff. The residents seemed to be known and cared for as unique individuals and their specific needs understood and respected. We were made welcome, recognised and 'looked after' when we visited. In the last period of my sister's life we knew that she was cared for in a very loving way, as were we as relatives.
Throughout Dad's brief and unexpected stay of 3 days, care was given with quiet respect, dignity and attention to detail for our whole family during a very challenging and emotional goodbye; end-of-life care was mindful and compassionate throughout. All the staff who supported us from clinical leads to cleaners, catering, carers and maintenance were all very clearly part of a longstanding team who cared about what they did and how they delivered it. They helped us all navigate a journey of passage and continued to do so even after Dad's passing. All at very short notice in a manner which enriched us all, in spite of our utter loss of a beloved father.
My two adult children and I agree that Faithful House in Suffolk Square Cheltenham is the right place for me to be cared for in my old age.
It is daunting and a source of great anxiety when a parent needs to transition to full residential care. It is a step into the unknown, consequently, it is very reassuring to know that you have made the right decision. From the onset, the staff at Faithfull House have treated my parent with sincere care and respect. They are professional, helpful and communicative. The only reason I haven't ticked 'excellent' for the categories below is that there are always little things to improve. But the really important stuff - quality of care and respect - is certainly excellent. I would (and do) recommend Faithful House.
My mother was adamant that she was never going into a care home this was based on her memories of care homes from 50 years ago. She was persuaded to try it for a week. On arriving at Faithfull House she was met by a member of staff who made her feel welcome and shown around. Her trial week was extended for a further three weeks before it became permanent. She now talks about how wonderful the staff are and also the food. She enjoys the 'activities' and also the trips out. She states that she is happy and has come to accept that this is the best place for her to be.
My Nan has had a turbulent 12 months and in Faithfull House she has found a home. The building is large, with a number of communal areas in which to socialise or to read. Nan's room is spacious and she is allowed to bring whatever she would like into the room to make it hers. The busy carers take their time whenever they are with Nan and when my family and I visit we are always offered refreshments. We really do enjoy visiting and find relief in seeing Nan so well looked after by all the staff. Nan enjoys the activities programme and also benefits from excursions out of Faithfull House. She cannot wait for the warmer weather to spend time in the large garden. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the home and its caring staff.
I really can't fault the care my mum receives at Faithfull House. The staff are exceptional in both the care that they give and importantly communication. I'm also impressed with the number of activities that are available, which play such an important part in stimulating residents.
My parents have lived in Faithfull House since 2020 receiving exemplary care and kindness from all staff, carers, management, catering, domestic, physio and hairdresser. We visit regularly but know they are safe and well and staff will contact us promptly when required.
Faithfull House is a lovely building in a lovely regency square in Cheltenham. The rooms, some of which have views over the square are nicely appointed and well maintained. The best thing about Faithful House though is the staff who are kind, caring, friendly and understanding and most importantly patient! Thank you.
Faithfull House has provided the family with excellent support in settling mum into residential care. From our initial enquiries and throughout the transition, the staff have gone over and above to make the move as smooth as possible by using a fully person-centred approach. The staff have been so kind to both mum and us. They have demonstrated they understand the difficult emotional decisions that have needed to be made.
My father had a recent respite stay at Faithfull House following a fall at home. The whole transition went really well. He massively benefitted from the in-house physiotherapist and the rehab facilities. Both my father and I would not hesitate to use Faithfull House in the future.
Whenever I visit Faithfull House Care Home, the staff are always very welcoming. My cousin has always appeared well cared for and tells me, themselves, that the staff are very polite and caring. She's been a resident for over a year and is very happy at Faithful House. Her room, although not overly large, is very homely and well taken care of. The home, itself, has always been clean and tidy, the garden is especially pretty and a lovely place to spend time in. My cousin tells me the meals are always tasty and the variety is good. I have not witnessed activities as such, due to the timing of my visits, but my cousin very much enjoys the chair exercise sessions and appreciates the religious services given in the home by the local church. Any questions I have had for staff have always been responded to promptly. I am very glad that my cousin has found such a safe and caring place to live.
Faithful House has a calm and friendly atmosphere. The care my father receives on Bluebell suite is excellent. The activities provided are varied and well-planned. I appreciate the kindness shown by all of the staff towards my father and also to my family.
My mother has been at Faithfull House for many years and has always been happy and well taken care of. Her room is beautiful and kept clean, her laundry is done promptly (nothing has ever been lost). She has never been spoken to unkindly or treated disrespectfully. She loves the garden and says the food is good. She has been taken on many day trips and even on holiday. Faithfull House is a great place to spend your final years.
Mum has lived at Faithful House for nearly a year. She has dementia. Mum is very happy, enjoys her day to day activities. She enjoys the good food and company. Her room is always spotless and tidy as are the lounges. The garden is a joy. Thank you Faithfull House, I rest easier now knowing Mum is in good hands.
The help and support we have received from the team at Faithfull House have been superb. The assessment of my mum was dignified and sensitive, considering she isn't aware of her Alzheimer's Disease diagnosis. Every effort was made to keep Mum within their care after the respite care ended. Mum has settled amazingly and is extremely fond of her carers. Faithful House doesn't;t feel like a typical care home - its energy is beautiful.
We have two parents at Faithful House. Dad (3 years), Mum (1 and half years) approx. Both have dementia and additional physical/mobility problems. Faithful House enabled Dad to move from a fairly self-contained flat to a room with a hillside view, then a ground floor room overlooking the garden, as care needs/wishes changed. Mum has moved from one room to the high-dependency Bluebell suite as mobility has declined, and she is mostly bed-bound. She receives excellent care there. Faithful House was proactive, thoughtful and extremely helpful in making these changes. Prior to this, Mum and Dad both went on a number of coach trips organised by the excellent events team. Mum also took part in many events/exercise classes, the latter with support from the physiotherapist who helped maximise involvement. Staff and management at all levels (reception, catering, cleaning, day and night staff, clinical staff and management) have helped both parents settle in a safe, caring environment in the toughest of times. Thanks all.
Having had experience of a previous home, I find Faithfull House to be excellent. My father is being very well cared for. I find all of the staff to be helpful and kind. The activities and experiences are well organised. I cannot praise Faithfull House enough.
