View Full Details of Northfield HouseFrom the time I phoned to enquire about a place for my husband I was made to feel that the care of my husband mattered. This was reinforced when my husband arrived from hospital having suffered neglect, and he was made to feel wanted and cared for. This has continued by both the management team and all the staff, you feel listened to and my husband cared for.
My mum has been there since October, she quickly settled in and every member of staff made her feel very welcome. Both girls have done so much to make my mum comfortable and looked after. I can't recommend Northfield House enough.
My mother has had seven days respite at Northfield and I can only say how caring and welcoming they were. Having been in nursing for many many years and now a full-time carer for my mother with Alzheimer's I was very pleased with the level of care and support she was given. The atmosphere was friendly, and welcoming,as well as giving me a break which I so desperately needed, will be very happy to send her there again next time knowing that she will be well looked after. Again thank you all staff at Northfield House for a good experience, great care quality and atmosphere, and a lovely room.
Thank you for the professional care given to my mother aged 95 who died on the 1st of June 2024. We were fully able to be with her in the comfort of her room in her care home. She was given respect, dignity and the full attention of well-qualified staff members throughout this experience. As a family, we were welcomed to be with Mother for 24 hours through day and night until she passed away and then she was taken out with respect and dignity.
Northfield has an amazing team who are all dedicated to looking after their residents like their own family. They provide lots of entertainment and activities for all to enjoy. Mum was well looked after and cared for with compassion and respect in the 3.5 years she was there.
In a few words - can’t fault anything, brilliant home. It’s like home from home you can’t get anything better than this, all employees are a credit to all residents they are always doing something and always go the extra mile to make all happy. The assistant manager has always been helpful and deals with issues my mum does have, what a credit she is to this horrible disease.
My experience of Northfield House is that of a very calm and caring home for all the residents. The staff I have met have all been lovely and genuinely care for everyone they look after. I'm very impressed and extremely grateful that my mother is happy at Northfield House.
When visiting my uncle, he is always happy with his care and especially enjoys the food and company of others. He is always clean and tidy, and his room is always accessible.
This care home has made me and my mum feel like family. I can not praise the staff enough for all they have done for me and my mum. It is really nice to see my mum back to her normal self taking part in activities. So caring for her welfare.
Having a loved one with dementia can be difficult for all concerned. Northfield House and staff continue to make this easier for families like mine. The staff really care for your loved one, they’re always pro-active and communicate well. I trust them to be there, putting Mum’s interests first.
Staff very friendly and good. Once again, communication could be improved with fortnightly updates. Activities are good, but might be nice to take them out to socialise.
My uncle has been a resident for now five years I think and with not being able to get there very often I know he is in safe hands with the staff there. I have never had a problem when I visit and my uncle is always happy and well looked after. I am always informed of what’s going on regards to my uncle via emails. The staff were amazing during the Covid crisis so thank you for that!
My mum recently spent 2 months at Northfield House prior to moving Counties to live closer to me. I cannot thank enough the superb staff team who made Mum feel so welcome and gave her so much love and gentle care. Mum's well-being was a priority and, seeing how she experienced genuine kindness, gentle protection and loving supervision, I was reassured and happy to leave her in their expert care. Living some distance away, I felt fully supported and informed by the management of every necessary detail of Mum's life there. As well as the wonderful care of her physical health, the importance of keeping Mum mentally stimulated was equally focussed on. From nail varnishing to assisted dancing, from St George's Day banners to singing along with the guitarist, and from gentle exercises to a Coronation party, life at Northfield was full of love, care, fun and enjoyment. Heartfelt thanks to each and every one of your amazing staff.
The staff were excellent. Dad was well looked after. Although the activities suffered after the loss of the activities coordinator, the staff do the best they can.
I have only been able to visit in screened off conservatory due to covid. Have been to visit a few times but not been able to see mum's room but she seems very happy. Staff are always friendly and helpful. When mum first went she was in isolation for two weeks and they found out she like watching birds so they let her have the budgerigar in her room which was a lovely touch.
Northfield House has been my mum's home for the last year and I can honestly say that I am so pleased and grateful for all the care and love she has received from all the staff. This home is not a 'for profit' business, it is a warm, friendly, compassionate home with family at its soul. Mum has been in the care system for 8 years and I so wish she had come to Northfields from the start. It was because her old nursing home was closing that she came here and I am so glad she did. Nothing is too much bother for the lovely staff and they will go over and beyond to be helpful. The home has worked so hard to keep the residents safe during covid, never wavering away from their safety measures and sticking to their guns, good on them. When I visit Mum I have to wear all the PPE that is provided and rightly so. Even if you have had your jab you can still carry it. My mum is so happy and stress free, which she wasn't at her last place, that I can leave her knowing she is in the best hands ever.
Mum was warmly welcomed to Northfield when home care became unsustainable. She settled very quickly and has been very well cared for by the Manager and her team. Despite the difficulties of the present situation, they have all been cheerful and caring throughout her time with them. We have been unable to visit inside, but during window visits, Mum has always been content and well looked after and appears to have a good relationship with her carers. Mum's dietary needs have been catered for, and she appears to enjoy her food. Thank you all for your kindness; keep up the good work!
My mum has been a resident with you for just over a year and always seems very happy when we are able to see her. I think we fell upon a right gem when we found Northfield House, and I can't compliment the carers/staff enough for all their hard work and the love they show to each and every resident. The house is always spotlessly clean, and the meals look really appetising. I would recommend this place to anyone without a doubt.
I find the staff at Northfield House very pleasant, they are so helpful to both my mother-in-law and our family, they keep us informed and have never not followed through on any request we may ask. My mother-in-law seems very happy here, it's lovely to see her smile and give staff a hug, they never rush her, the hairdresser does her hair lovely. Something Mum always loved doing a trip to the hairdresser.
The staff do a wonderful job and always make time to have a chat and look after my mother brilliantly. I am very happy that she is in such a lovely place and cared for so well.
