View Full Details of Oak Tree Mews Care HomeMy experience at Oak Tree Mews Care Home has been excellent. The manager and her fabulous staff have made my mother-in-law so welcome. Helped her to eat and take her medication, their support, and kindness is just amazing. I can't thank them all enough. I feel so happy that my mother-in-law has settled so well but that is down to the manager and her staff. I was not looking forward to putting my mother-in-law into a care home, but this has been the best decision we made.
We were informed that all care homes are the same so after our previous experience at another care home we weren't holding out much hope. How wrong we were! My mum is unrecognisable from the sad frail old lady she was previously. Clean, fresh and tidy, happy! She walks with her frame now, asks for the toilet and she enjoys her food. She is content as are we. 10/10 from me. Well done, couldn't be happier!
My mother stayed at this care home for a few months but sadly died on November 1st, 2023. In that time, the care she and my family received was 100 per cent. My mum was clean, well-fed, happy and content in her room. The staff went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and felt welcome. She loved them like her family and had everything she needed. I was Mum's carer and was also made to feel welcome 24 hours a day. My questions were answered, my worries were always listened to, even in Mum's final days. Staff stayed over their work shifts to help me know that Mum was never alone. Thank you.
Our elderly mother tried a fortnight in Oak Tree Mews, mainly with a view to moving near us "children", pensioners ourselves! The help and attention from every single staff member are amazing; they are professional, helpful and cheerful, from senior members right through, and she has made the move permanent... without any reservations. The Christmas party, as well as daily attention, demonstrated the high degree of care there. Thank you all for both her physical health and mental stimulation.
My mother was a resident for five years and naturally, through that time, she and the family went through our ups and downs as her ability declined. The care home recently (two years?) changed hands and the new owners and staff have greatly improved all aspects of care, reflected in a consistent staff presence of quality and caring attitude. Thankfully my mother, who always appreciated the staff and her time at Oak Tree Mews, managed to spend her last days there where the end-of-life care was exceptional. Many thanks.
The building was accessible even when I was in my wheelchair, and the garden was well-kept and pleasant to sit in. The staff were really helpful, were always willing to help me and were always willing to sit and talk and make sure I was made part of the community. In the time I was there, I did not get the same food twice, and it was always very nice.
When we knew mum would need to be in a care home we panicked as she had always been adamant that she didn't want that. So on the day she went in I felt sick..but not sure she would want to leave now. From the first second, she was relaxed and happy, well fed, looked after and cherished (I'm booking in soon!) We all love Oak Tree Mews Care Home.
I am very happy with my room overlooking the garden and with the care that I get.
Overall, Oak Tree Mews meets my expectations for my parents. I'd like to see more personal care for my daddy addressed when raising in the mornings which slips and bed linen changed and their personal ones returned to my mother, as this is an important thing to her that they have their own. Friendly staff, perhaps more activities of a quicker nature for dementia/Alzheimers patients. But overall, they do a good job!
Our Mother was a resident at Oak Tree Mews for just over three months; we appreciated the patience and kindness of all the staff. The manager and her team found time for everybody, residents and visitors alike, even though always busy. We felt confident in their ability to meet our mother’s needs during those last few weeks of her life. The homely atmosphere and country views were among the reasons we chose Oak Tree Mews. Mum’s end of life care was managed very professionally.
My parents spent two weeks at Oak Tree Mews. They were looked after by a loving and caring team of staff and management. My brother and I appreciated the flexible visiting hours and warm hospitality with an offer of coffee. My parents complimented the tasty meals cooked. I liked the open-door room policy, which ensures a lively atmosphere in the evening, which I'm sure reduces the feeling of loneliness. Thank you to the whole team.
The food was good. Care is excellent. Carers were good and perfect.
A caring and friendly atmosphere every time I come to see my mum. Mum is very happy here.
I have been very pleased to find my father looking so well and in good spirits despite the stressful times endured during the pandemic. My father has been wonderfully cared for during this time. He loves his room and he speaks with warmth and gratitude about the kindness and care he has received. The care home has made every effort to keep him safe and well while allowing visits with all the necessary precaution. The whole team has done a brilliant job in very difficult times. Thank you.
The last month, my father has been rather poorly and in lockdown mode, this has made giving him the support he needs to make his recovery challenging. The staff at Oak Tree Mews have worked tirelessly to bring him back to better health and found ways for me to deliver the compassionate support he so needed. I am very grateful for all they have achieved.
Lovely place with friendly staff.
Pre-booked a Covid flow test 30 minutes before. Separate entrance and visiting room with plastic screens. Very clean, strict attention to safety procedures. Allowed an hour to visit Dad. Attentive care staff at all times.
Oak Tree Mews has provided a quality of life for my father that we would not have dared to hope for. They have welcomed him into their caring and supportive community with open arms and we will be forever grateful for their wonderful work especially during the difficult times we have encountered.
Our Mum became a resident of Oak Tree Mews initially for respite care after experiencing a fall, we anticipated that she would likely be a resident for just a few weeks, how wrong we were. Sadly, her condition has deteriorated significantly. As a result contact with the Care Home has been frequent, we have been contacted with any changes in Mum's condition and have been kept updated at all times. In addition, a member of the family has contacted the care home on a daily basis, sometimes more than once especially as Mum began to need assistance with answering her phone. At all times we were greeted with warmth and friendliness by all staff and despite the fact that at times they must have been extremely busy, we were never made to feel an inconvenience. We the family all feel that the care that has been provided for our Mum has been second to none, she has been treated with dignity and respect at all times. We cannot thank the staff enough for their caring attitude when looking after our Mum and taking care of her most personal needs as if she were a member of their own family. We cannot praise the staff highly enough for continuing daily to carry out a job which is often underappreciated and undervalued in society.
My wife has been at Oak Tree Mews for about 4 1/2 weeks. As far as I can tell she has very good care. Both the staff and home have bee excellent. I have no complaints.
