View Full Details of Parton HouseI have been lucky enough to have dealt with Parton House twice over the past 12 months. Firstly my mum went in for respite 03/24 for 3 weeks. Mum had become very demanding previously to her visit and the staff were all so patient with her. It was such a relief to know she was so cared for in a beautifully warm, caring, fun environment. Moving forward to Feb 2025, my frail elderly neighbour decided she needed more support. I contacted the manager and she was so supportive and visited my neighbour at home to reassure her and talk her through everything. She decided on staying for 2 weeks initially. Before the 2 weeks were up she had decided she wanted to stay permanently. She is having a blast. I've not seen her look so happy in such a long time. Every time I visit She has done a new activity, keep fit, dominoes, singing and seeing the weekly hairdresser. So much going on daily, great meals. It really is like a hotel. The staff work so hard.
We had to put my mother into respite care in January 2025. The manager was very accommodating in getting us a place sorted. The home is very clean and well ran, I would recommend this care home to all. The food seems to be all home cooked and served up nice and hot.
After a fraught few week's mum has settled down quite well. For someone who is almost 100 years old and fiercely independent nowhere is going to be quite like home. Its only in the last couple of years she has needed any help at all, doing online shopping at Tesco's up until her mid 90's. Unfortunately failing eyesight and gradual memory loss has meant she had to become more reliant on close family and additional care staff. Even though she had at least 4 care staff calling daily as well as family members calling twice a day, she was becoming increasingly lonely. She now says she is quite content at Parton House care home and there is always someone to have a good natter to. The staff are always helpful and courteous to residents and visitors alike. Overall, it's a clean and happy environment with several little quiet rooms if you need to discuss something of a sensitive nature with your loved one.
Parton House was chosen by my sister and I for our father for its previous reviews and positive recommendations. We cannot fault the medical care he receives, pills are administered at specific times and all necessary tests are provided. Community nurses come to medicate his leg ulcers on a regular basis. A dr comes when necessary. A car with a carer has accompanied him to dental appointments which is an excellent service. The meals are very good and the staff all seem very willing, friendly and patient. There are many activities downstairs in the lovely big dining room but unfortunately our father doesn't seem to want to take part in these, he prefers to stay in his room which he now calls "my little home". Sometimes clothes after laundry go astray but name tags may do the trick to prevent this from happening. My sister and I receive regular emails from the management to inform us of our father's health and well-being and should there be a problem, we are promptly informed.
Parton Manor House church down is amazing my mum loved it there the staff are amazing always very helpful when I ask questions if mum is taken ill they will inform me straight away the food is loverly they try and have entertainment every afternoon for the residents keep us informed about what's happening on a monthly meeting for all relatives well done to all the staff there they are amazing.
The atmosphere at Parton House was very relaxed and friendly. The staff seemed happy and connected with all residents.
Mum was extremely against ever going into a care home and was living independently although somewhat lonely. When she developed mobility issues we tried to handle it in her home. We soon realised it was no easy task! We did some research and decided we liked the look of Parton House and even better it's close to where we live. We persuaded Mum to go for a look and try it for 2 weeks respite. Treat it like a holiday etc!! She very reluctantly agreed. I can honestly say she treated me as if I had put her in prison for the first couple of weeks. Now approximately 2 months later Mum has a new lease of life (and so do we!) At first, she stayed in her room most of the time. Now she is in the lounge socialising with her new friends and enjoying the activities. The staff are all friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I really appreciate it's not an easy job and they all seem to have so much patience. We have no regrets at all and are very happy with Parton House and so is Mum.
Mum found it difficult to settle in initially in June but this is mainly due to how her health has declined. The staff have always been willing to assist Mum settle in, I find them friendly and professional. Really happy with the keep in touch meetings held with the Care Home Manager who always gives honest and truthful feedback and it is obvious they have got to know Mum and her individual traits etc.
My mother has been a resident at the home for respite care on three separate occasions. I would highly recommend Parton House, the staff are caring and helpful. The home is kept spotlessly clean and the food is very good. A doctor visits regularly as does a hairdresser. Although my mother's stays have been of a fairly short duration, I believe that the care she has received has facilitated her return to her own home.
My mother has been in Parton House for 7 months and is receiving great care and attention at a time of her life when she needs 24/7 support for everything. The care is delivered timely with dignity and care for Mum and the manager and staff are welcoming and very good in communicating with me about Mum's care needs, wishes and safety. All very good as well as being in a perfect local location with nice grounds and gardens for residents disposition and wellbeing.
Our mother had a fall and broke her coiler bone, it was a dangerous break and it could have pierced her lung. My sister and I didn't feel confident about caring for her, so we started ringing around care homes on our return from the hospital, it was a Saturday night, and Parton House was the only one that took our name and contact details. The next morning called us back! The wonderful care home manager arrived to see us the same day and her professional manner and her ability to deal with our father, who has dementia, made our decision easy. Mum moved into Parton House for a month of respite care, and it was the best thing we have ever done. Mum thrived and she started to be more like her old self, thanks to the care home manager getting her a hospital appointment to diagnose an illness that required medication. We had tried and failed to get the appointment brought forward. We are so grateful to all the staff at Parton House; they are all amazing caring wonderful people.
Uncle has been in Parton House since late 2023, he settled in very quickly. He is very happy there. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They keep on top of any issues that arise and are always in regular contact keeping us updated. Many thanks to all of you at Parton House.
Mum moved into Parton House in May 2023 after a previous respite visit. We’d visited several other homes but Parton was, by far, the most homely and we liked the general atmosphere. It took Mum several months to truly settle, as her dementia and age (91) made her anxious and afraid of change. However, the staff have been fantastic, providing her with the support she needs and keeping me updated when necessary. They are always friendly and approachable. I like that management holds regular relatives meetings to discuss wider issues. Overall, it’s a happy place and I’m glad that Mum can spend her final years there.
Mum has been living at Parton House for 4 years and settled in really well right from the start. The surroundings and staff make for a big family feel and we know that Mum is happy and well cared for. All staff are helpful, friendly and polite at all times with excellent communication both when e visit, or phone and nothing is ever too much trouble. Mum's health has deteriorated immensely in the last year, she is now very frail, immobile and has a certain degree of dementia but as her needs have become more challenging her personal care and medication have been adapted to suit these needs amazingly well. We had a call last August (2022) from the doctor telling us to prepare ourselves, as a family, as Mum was towards the end of her life. It is all down to the care and attention of all the incredibly supportive staff that Mum is still with us and in her own way, still going strong. Many thanks to the whole team at Parton House.
The staff and management are fantastic with Mum. She has dementia, and can be hard work. The manager keeps me informed of any changes in Mum's health. Mum looks well and is happy living at the home.
My father has been in Parton House care home now for nearly 3 years. My brother and I have closely watched to see that he is well cared for there. He is very happy there, clearly well fed and the food is good too but also the carers are extremely good. They often pop in to see him as well as do their caring duties and chat with him or engage with him. In addition, the medical reviews are frequent and if in doubt, the doctors are called in to check and review the care given and any medication needed. There are also plenty of activities for the residents to do. The management staff are also very clued up and have assisted us with getting care funding money, making the applications easy to do. All in all, we are very happy and thankful that we found this care home for my father. Long may they also get the donkey in at Christmas time, what a treat for residents and their relatives!
It's fine. No problems, residents are well looked after.
My dads respite stay at Parton House was superb. The whole team displayed utter professionalism in their roles. Not only was dad happy and very well looked after, the communication and support shown to my mother, brother and myself was of the highest level. Thank you all concerned at the home.
After an unexpected illness with our Dad late last year, we found ourselves suddenly in the position of having to find a Home for Dad to move to. The Management Team at Parton House were so helpful and patient in explaining to us and Dad how their Home worked and how he could fit in. It was no doubt a daunting time for Dad, it definitely was for us, but the staff worked hard to help Dad settle in. When we visit, it is so reassuring when we see the staff comment on something about Dad. It shows us that they have made time to talk to him about his life history, his likes and dislikes. It’s these little things that matter too. We are always kept up to date with any medical conditions Dad has. The whole team are always busy, but stop to chat when they can. If we are not able to talk to the Management team when we are there, we know they will contact us as soon as they are free. Parton House is always warm and welcoming. We feel we have chosen very well for Dad and he is very happy there.
My Mother has been in Parton House since July 2022. She had spent a few weeks of respite care in the home a couple of months previous so she knew a little of what to expect. She really was reluctant to go into care and leave her bungalow behind, we were very apprehensive about how things were going to progress. We should not have worried at all! She felt at home from the word go, at 100 years old this was a life-changing experience for her. The staff were so kind to her and put her at ease so quickly. Nothing is too much trouble, we and she cannot speak highly enough of them.
