What impresses me most, is that Ashley House feels like a real home and has a lovely dining room, living room and a large conservatory where most activities take place. Staff and the Manager are all friendly and very helpful and keep me informed of dad's care. Dad has been very happy and enjoys the company of other residents and staff. Activities are really outstanding and he enjoys a varied programme of events, he particularly enjoys the music and the entertainers who come to the home and perform. It's lovely to hear him singing songs and there is a display of photos on the walls, so we can see what happy times he has had. His most important activity is food and coffee and I am happy to say that the food is extremely good and he is supplied with endless coffee and biscuits. A big thank you to the Manager and staff for taking good care of dad and I appreciate all you do,
My Aunt is happy and well looked after at Ashley House. She likes her room and always says the food is great. The staff all seem helpful and friendly. I have watched my Aunt taking part in activities and enjoying them.
Ashley House is brilliant. All the staff are lovely and cannot do enough for the residents. Mum had had a few falls and needed more permanent care, her motivation was low and her mood was lower, she kept saying she wanted to die. She went into Ashley House and has completely changed, she is now very happy, enjoying all the crafts and activities and looking forward to doing things. She loves the singalongs and the animal visits and always has something new to tell me when I go in. I cannot thank the manager and her staff enough for the transformation in her.
Mum went to stay in Ashely House for 2 weeks of respite in August. She settled in so well and enjoys the company and activities. The staff are all so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. When we visit we are made to feel very welcome and feel part of the family there. Mum is a very good cook and really appreciates the excellent food served at Ashley House. I know she is happy, safe and secure there.
My first impressions of Ashley House were very good. It felt homely, clean and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. My grandmother was offered a beautiful room overlooking the fields. My grandmother was very happy living at Ashley House. She made friends and thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities provided. Her favourite activities were the regular visits from the singers and karaoke. The staff were always welcoming when I visited. They were all so friendly and I could see how much they genuinely cared for my grandmother and the other residents. It truly felt like a home not just a care setting. My grandmother's cultural needs were always met, ensuring she had regular visits from the priest. I was always kept well informed if my Nan became unwell or needed anything. On the week that my grandmother passed away the staff were so supportive and compassionate. I will never forget the kindness they showed me and the dignity, care and respect they showed my grandmother.
Lovely friendly staff. My friend is very happy there. Made very welcome when you visit.
My mother is very fortunate, and I'm very relieved, that she's in a place that cares for her and looks after her so well. At Ashley House the staff know the residents and give them the care required. They are trained, and have a natural talent above most people, in handling the situations and behaviours found in a care home. They also go about their very challenging work with a friendly, positive attitude. The staff are attentive, but the manager stands out as very proactive. She 'leads from the front' and has levels of energy and enthusiasm that are impressive. She is 'on the case' and works well with her team leaders. She is also very approachable, helpful and willing to listen to ideas and observations. At Ashley House the individual does matter. My mother is a vegetarian and they cater for her. Her room is kept clean, as are the communal areas such as the conservatory where the various events take place. My mother is in a good place and cared for by good people.
The staff are friendly, caring and always happy to help. My father receives great care and attention. There is lots going on to entertain and enrich their lives. I am always informed of any issues. I am content that my dad is happy, safe, looked after and his needs are met at Ashley House.
Friendly, happy staff who engage well with my father-in-law. He is always smiling and in communal areas when I've been to see him, rather than isolated in his room, which he was at the previous home. He has put on weight due to eating well, and he says the food is delicious. The manager is very approachable, and everyone working there seems to care, which is the most important thing. His hair might not always be immaculate, but he is so happy and calls it home, which means so much to us.
I have found that all the staff have, over the past year or so, to be caring and accommodating towards my wife who is a resident with dementia. They have alway been very polite and welcoming when myself or other family members have arrived to visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashley Care Home to others.
Ashley House has offered a very caring stay for Mum who has been there for the past 5 weeks. All of the staff are wonderful and genuinely care. They know her at a very individual level, have a great sense of humour and are always gentle, positive and attentive to her. The other residents are happy and engaged in activities and each other. The food is very good and she enjoys the meals and snacks. I am very happy about the care that Mum receives and we feel very welcome when we visit.
The care my mum receives is brilliant. If there are any issues they will contact us and let us know exactly what's going on. Nothing is too much trouble. Birthdays and Christmas are hard times of the year but the staff at Ashley House makes these easier.
Mum has been in Ashley House for five months now, she has dementia and falls very frequently. Most of the staff I have found to be so caring and thoughtful, going above and beyond, even comforting us! They treat Mum as a normal adult and see past the person dementia has made her. They have patience with her and pass the time away with a smile and a chat. We all wish Mum wouldn’t fall, staff included, but it cannot be helped it is dementia and I would never question the staff’s care. If I have raised an issue it has always been rectified promptly. Today was Mum's 89th birthday and she was thoroughly spoilt by all. Thank you for looking after her when we can’t be there. She is one special lady.
All staff are very friendly and helpful. The care home always looks clean. Would recommend. Mum's room always looks clean and has no horrible smells, which is great. Staff are very accommodating whenever we ring up. Nothing seems to be too much trouble.
My mother joined Ashley House in July and there has been a great improvement in her mood since being there. She settled in quickly which was a relief as it took her a few months to do so at the previous home (which closed). There always seems to be something going on to entertain and stimulate the residents which is so important for them.
Ashley House very much offers a home-from-home environment. My friend who has Alzheimer's has been a resident for 6 months prior to which she had spent 2 months in hospital and arrived in poor condition. Due to the care and attention from all of the wonderful staff, she looks much healthier and has settled into her new home well. I feel reassured and comfortable that she is safe and content. It's lovely to see that there has been the appointment of an activities coordinator who is very energetic and creative in providing all sorts of activities and entertainment. If I had one small criticism, it would be that my friend is occasionally wearing someone else's clothes and frequently there are someone else's clothes in her wardrobe, but I understand this may be difficult to control.
My mother entered Ashley House Care Home during Lockdown. She is of sound mind but is now unable to walk. I visit her every two weeks for a couple of days and so feel I have a good up-to-date view of the home. The change in management seems to have brought a more open and supportive atmosphere. The care staff are friendly and very caring, nothing is too much trouble for them. The catering staff go out of their way to accommodate her eating problems and check each day on what she can eat for lunch. The cleaning staff and maintenance are efficient and very helpful. My mother is very content at Ashley House and above all, feels safe.
My mother-in-law always really enjoys her respite stays at Ashley House Care Home. Upon arrival, she said 'this is like a home' which I believe she meant it was welcoming and cosy. She has stayed in more modern places before but is happiest here and we have always found the staff are welcoming and friendly. My mother-in-law enjoys the activities provided and the general environment. It may not be the classiest of homes but it is good value and my mother-in-law is happy with it, that is the most important thing!
Ashley House is situated in a very quiet road in Langport. It is a lovely large detached red brick house, with a conservatory leading into a very pleasant garden. Initially, my mother had respite care in Ashley House for a week and then later for another period of two weeks. This gentle introduction proved ideal before becoming a full-time resident. The manager and staff have been very welcoming and friendly, and my mother has settled in very comfortably. I have noticed the calm and peaceful atmosphere in the home, which is always kept beautifully clean and tidy. My mother enjoys the activities, particularly the music and singing. The food is excellent and varied. We are welcome to visit Mum at any time. The management is very effective and has kept me informed of any issues. It is very reassuring to know that Mum is very happy and well cared for in Ashley House.
Visited Mum before Christmas, the staff were welcoming and we had a cup of coffee and a biscuit during our visit as well as a catch-up with the activities coordinator and manager. Reassured that we can visit Mum at any time and we don't need to call ahead. The home is great with Mum, able to adapt to her needs and keep us updated on her care needs.
