View Full Details of St Cecilia Care Home LtdMy husband has been permanently living in St Cecilia's since June. I looked at several homes but this one felt the right one with its homely feel and friendly staff and because I had worked in care I wanted to ensure that that was more important that he would get the care he needed! The staff are fabulous giving the care needed. Visitors are welcomed and included. There was recently an open day BBQ for residents and families with music which was a great way of getting to know other residents' families etc. The manager has a good relationship with the staff with support and respect which is reflected in the care given and atmosphere in the home. Although I am the wife of a resident in St Cecilia's I feel supported by the lovely staff. Keep up the good care.
My Mum who has Alzheimer's has been using this facility first as a day visitor and for respite care, then as her care needs increased, as a resident. The manager, along with her team, are wonderful with Mum. The whole team engage with the residents and the staff's cheerful attitude gives a happy atmosphere which is clearly visible when I visit Mum. Mum is happy at St Cecelia's and joins in with all the activities. The whole team are professional and diligent with the care they provide to Mum, and they do it with smiles, hugs and kindness. Thank you to everyone at St Cecelia's.
My Mum came to St Cecilia's after a fall at her house earlier this year followed by some weeks in Yeovil Hospital. St Cecilia's manager made Mum very welcome and has been very kind to Mum and her family ever since. The staff are also very kind and helpful. Mum has a beautiful bedroom which she feels very 'at home' in. She can join the other residents in the lounge when she wants to and has very tasty meals in the dining room. The atmosphere at St Cecilia's is very relaxed which is important for someone like Mum who can be over-anxious. The manager keeps us all well-informed, and the rooms are always clean and tidy. Today (5/5/24), there was a special open day with a barbecue and drinks in the beautiful garden: the homemade trifle was a highlight!
My father who has Alzheimer's has been using this facility for 2 years now. He has weekly day respite and occasional overnight respite care. The manager and her team are wonderful with Dad. He always comes away happy. They tell me how his day has been and his activities. The team are so good with Dad. There are places closer to me but here Dad enjoys his once-weekly day care and his occasional overnight stays. Thank you to everyone at St Celia’s.
My friend is hard work but the girls manage him well. He seems to be quite happy here.
Friendly staff, happy we know he’s safe there. He settled in very well and very clean and tidy, his room is a perfect size. They are very well cared for, the manager is excellent and very friendly.
St Cecilia Care Home is a very nice, friendly place to visit. Residents are treated with respect.
My Mother was admitted to St Cecilia Care Home on 03/05/2022 with stage 4 dementia. From the first visit, we were made very welcome and shown around, the management and staff were very supportive in a difficult time. I was very pleased with the way things were done and the care she received. I had spent over ten years looking after my mum alone before I concluded I could not cope any more and needed help, they first gave me respite dates and finally admitted her permanently. I have been very happy with the care and friendliness shown to Mum and me, I can visit any time daily and enjoy a cup of tea or a meal if I wish, I wish all care homes could be as good as this, giving care and love to people at a very difficult time in their life journey.
My stepmother has been in the care home for over a year and has settled in, just like she’s at home. The staff put her and other residents first, providing a caring and compassionate environment. I highly recommend the home.
My mother was only admitted to St Cecilia Care Home a few days ago, but our impression of it so far has been very good. The manager has gone out of her way to help us deal with horrendous NHS bureaucracy (Mum went from living at home into hospital, and from there to St Cecilia’s), and to make us all feel as comfortable as possible with this potentially stressful change in our lives. We chose St Cecilia’s because it’s small, friendly and informal, and the residents seemed happier and more engaged than in other places we looked at. The staff seem competent and kind, and it feels more like a commune than an institution. When we have visited Mum, we have been made to feel completely welcome and part of the St Cecilia’s community. We very much hope that Mum will settle in and enjoy being there.
This care home is one of the best' my mother-in-law has been here for seven years, and the staff are so caring. The manager is very professional and has such a wonderful attitude towards residents, staff, guests and relations. My wife and I travel from Norfolk, and the journey can take up to five hours, on arrival the manager will set up my mother-in-law's room for all of us to have lunch together - what a very nice thing to do; we are so grateful, the food is so nice as well. We are so very lucky to have such a really, really good care home for my mother-in-law, which in turn allows my wife and myself to relax knowing my mother-in-law is in such good hands.
My dad has been here since February after a failed first care home placement elsewhere where he was treated appallingly. Because of this, I found it difficult to build trust with another care home, but I feel it has been easily done with St Cecilia. My dad has lovely banter with the staff, is well looked after, and they manage any medical concerns proactively and thoroughly. It is a small home with a family feel and a small group of consistent members of staff. Any issues have been easily resolved with key workers/management and are easy to approach. I have never had issues calling and asking to speak to him. My dad is safe and well looked after, and I can visit to take him out for coffee and cake, which is the best I can ask for going forward, given the hand he has been dealt with dementia.
My mother was a resident at St Cecilia Care Home for just over 2 years. The care and compassion shown when my mother passed away was above and beyond the call of duty. Each and every member of staff are caring, kind and passionate about all of the residents in this care home. Not only do they look after the residents they also look after and care for the families too, as we found out just a couple of weeks ago when my mother passed away whilst in their care. I could not have wished for a better place for my mother to be, and for this, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I would highly recommend this Care Home to anyone who has any doubts about placing a loved one in a home.
