View Full Details of Compton View Residential Care HomeI was treated with dignity and respect by all the staff at Compton View who helped me get through a bad time in my life. I hope they will help others as they helped me. It was a very sad day for me at the time I left Compton View and the memory of their care will remain with me.
My review of Compton View is a very lovely care home to view. The people and the staff are wonderful and the owner is great.
I would recommend the place to anyone.
After a series of life-threatening falls where she remained on the floor for hours, my 92-year-old Mum reluctantly agreed to go into residential care. The reluctance was unfounded. Her life quality has improved. She looks relaxed, well and content. Compton View is wonderful. The manager and her staff are caring, compassionate and nothing is too much trouble for them. They don't just embrace the residents, the family are embraced too. I feel more rested now, knowing my Mum is safe and have the best care, along with the delicious food that she enjoys immensely. Her words to me. “I have never been so well looked after.” I think that says it all. Thank you.
I have a very close friend who is a resident of this Residential Home and whom I visit regularly (approx every ten days or so). I am very pleased with the care and attention my friend receives. The staff are capable, kind and considerate and the owner gives the residents opportunities for activities and varying menus, as well as running an efficient establishment, yet in a homely manner. Most impressive.
We cannot praise Compton View too highly for its care of our mother in her last years. We are hugely grateful to everyone there. When she came to the Home, aged 86, we thought she had only months left. Within those months she regained her health and looked years younger. The kindness and care of the staff gave her a new home, a new family and six more years of a very happy life. The home is clean and attractive, which is reflected in the treatment of the residents. mother’s medication was carefully managed and monitored, she was assisted with all aspects of her personal hygiene, and she was encouraged to take pride in her appearance. Daily activities were offered in the pleasant communal lounge, but mother generally preferred to stay in her room reading, knitting or looking at the “garden” of pots we put outside (gardening having been one of her great pleasures). The staff were happy to allow this, and as they often had reasons to pop in she became friends with them all.
During illness and my time here, I have been well looked after.
I have been here two years being well looked after and cared for.
Compton View is a very exceptional small care home. Mum spent six weeks in hospital last summer, unable to manage in her own home on her return. We were so fortunate Compton View had a vacancy at that time. On viewing the home, we knew it was the perfect place for mum. She was greeted with wonderful, friendly staff. Mum soon settled in and is now enjoying her lovely room, new friends and being looked after so well. We visit five days a week, always made welcome and kept informed of any issues regarding mum's health etc. Just so lucky we found Compton View.
My very dear friend was offered a bedroom at Compton View on a Friday afternoon after being informed she no longer needed to be hospitalised. They came up absolute "trumps/2 - absolutely nothing was too much trouble and they have 100% welcomed my friend into their care. Super, caring, loving manager and staff.
My 90-year-old Dad has been at Compton View for just over a month now and as he is a very reserved man whose memory is failing him I was really happy to find such a homely, friendly place but was worried about whether he would settle in. The manager, her staff have been amazing both with helping Dad settle and reassuring me with regular feedback both personally when I visit and by email updates to let me know how he is doing. I can’t praise them enough, every member of staff I have spoken to has been happy and helpful and their cheerful disposition seems to be rubbing off on Dad although still reluctant to take part in activities he is smiling a lot more than I have seen in a long time.
When Mum and I were looking for a home for her, Compton View was the winner of the five we looked at by miles! We have never regretted this decision. All the staff are friendly, caring and willing to help in any way possible. They really care about Mum and have made her feel very welcome and settled. I would have no hesitation in recommending Compton View to friends in the area. I am very grateful to the staff for their caring and kindness shown to Mum.
I cannot praise the staff at Compton View highly enough. From the owner to the catering staff! You are always greeted in such a happy and welcoming way when visiting and nothing is too much trouble! The owner is great fun and always does her best to raise everyone’s spirits but at the same time, she stays on top of their medical conditions/needs. Activities are regularly organised and friends/family are encouraged to join the parties. Because the home is not too large, residents receive a very personal service. I would not hesitate to recommend Compton View to family or friends. Thank you for all the fantastic work that you do!
The care provided at Compton View is geared entirely to the welfare, comfort and health of the residents. All the staff are very friendly, but still extremely professional. Residents are part of a little community but have as much privacy and personal space as they want. I am very pleased to have been recommended to Compton View, nothing has disappointed.
Compton View cared for my Aunt, who has since passed. I cannot thank and praise Compton View and staff enough for their excellent, kind care for my aunt who was immobile, blind and not an easy personality - they treated her like family and saw to her every need to ensure her happiness. They were great company for her and took care of her Dr's appointments, ensured she took her medications, bathing, making sure she was dressed in clean clothes, hair cuts, you name it, they took care of her every need. I was especially grateful to the owner, who took care of clearing out my aunt's room for me after she died, as I live abroad and I could not leave my sick mother. She went above and beyond to see to everything and helping me with the hospital and funeral home arrangements. I could not have done this without her help and care. Wonderful lady and staff who do anything for you. She was also very supportive to me emotionally at this difficult time. Thank you!
I am thoroughly impressed by the wonderful atmosphere that exists at Compton View. It is evident that this is achieved through the painstaking care provided by the staff. Due diligence is given with warmth, good humour and dedication to meet the needs of the residents who seem extremely happy, relaxed and contented. There is always a cheery welcome to visitors that makes you feel part of the family. There is no shortage of laughter. Nothing is too much trouble where residents are treated with great respect and dignity and encouraged to be as active and involved as they wish to be. My cousin couldn't want for anything better. It is home from home with excellent food. If I needed residential care then this is where I would like to reside.
Very friendly staff, my nan is extremely happy here. Activities are always going on and management are more than happy to care and help with anything needed.
The manager and her team of excellent carers have made my mum feel welcome, safe and happy from the beginning. The team are caring and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. There are activities and occasional days out for those residents who wish to participate. Compton View has to be one of the best care homes in Yeovil.
