View Full Details of Croft HouseMy mother is very well looked after in Croft House. If ever there is a problem, I am kept informed which is important to me, for example contacting the local surgery. There are a lot of staff employed and naturally some know my mother better than others and go the extra mile to make sure she is dress well and comfortable. The catering is excellent, lots to choose from, in terms of choice of menu. Activities are available to keep residents active and involved.
Croft House is a well-run, friendly, caring residential home where my father lives. He took a while to come to terms with losing his house, most of his possessions and his independence, but he now tells me often that he couldn't be in a better place, how kind the staff are and how well he is treated. I visit 6 days a week and there is no restriction on what time I can come. He gets supplied with cups of tea and biscuits all day long, which he loves. I must pay particular tribute to the activities team, who make a huge effort to organise a wide range of things to amuse the residents, including trips out, games and entertainments. I can''t imagine him being in a better environment.
The title Care Home explains exactly what Croft House encompasses. My aunt was a resident for over 4 years, initially on a 2-week respite care, and never looked back. Sadly she passed away yesterday but with dignity and love thanks to the staff, I cannot recommend the home and the staff highly enough, she was always smiling whenever we visited, and couldn't speak highly enough of her days there. It was an extremely satisfying end of her life enjoying things she would never have experienced from Bingo, Skittles, singing, interacting with people from all walks of life, haircuts, and nail manicures, in fact, a wholesome look to every day. Se felt it was her home and extended family and wanted to spend her last days there, can there be a better testament? Huge thanks to all the staff for their care and compassion.
A really lovely care home. All the staff are fantastic and very friendly. They look after my lovely grandma very well. She’s always dressed well and she’s made to feel very at home. We are always welcomed and the home is incredibly clean every time I visit.
My friend is very frail now but is being looked after with great care. Another friend was at Croft for some time before she died very recently and was also cared for with kindness and professionalism.
All the staff are so lovely to Mum. She is so well looked after and cared for. We are always welcomed and made to feel unrushed and looked after when we visit. We all visited Mum for her birthday today and the whole family were treated to a lovely afternoon tea and homemade cake. Such a lovely thought and very grateful to be able to all celebrate as a family with Mum on her special day.
Excellent home from home looking after my dear neighbour and friend so well. The staff always work hard to care for the residents. The mad hatter's tea party was full of fun and laughter staff dressed up and pushed the boat out. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.
Our uncle has really loved living at Croft House. The staff are kind and respectful, they spend time listening to him, and nothing is too much trouble. He has felt safe and confident in this very friendly environment. We have had very good communication between ourselves and the home. They have kept us informed of any changes or needs that would affect our uncle. We would like to thank Croft House for all the care they have given to our uncle.
I was very worried about my mother and Godfather going into a home so uncertain of what was going to happen, unfortunately, they both ended up with Dementia/Alzheimers. On arrival at the home we were greeted with the most wonderful team of staff always smiling and lots of laughter. The rooms are bright well furnished and cosy. The staff are so cheerful and always on hand to help the residents/family members with lots of respect and loving care. The managers of the home are the most wonderful and approachable people you could ever wish for, nothing is too much trouble for them. I try to visit every other day and I can honestly say I am always made to feel welcome, some days are better than others with my mother but on the bad days, there have been staff that have given me a hug and been willing to have a chat with me before I have left and made me feel better. I really wouldn't want my Mother or Godfather to be anywhere else. This is just a wonderful home for them both.
I would just like to thank for staff for all the kindness they have shown my dad. It took my dad a while to settle into Croft but after my visit today, I can see how must he has settled. Residents were having a good time playing skittles, lots of laughter to be heard.
My father received excellent care from all the staff. This made his final days much more bearable for my father and his family. The communication was outstanding throughout his stay. We saw how gentle and kind the staff were with my father and other residents.
After a disaster of using another care home/provider for my husband who has dementia, we were fortunate enough to be offered a place with Somerset Care (Croft House Care Home)! I cannot express enough how wonderful they are. It started as soon as we got out of our car…a member of staff had finished her shift…straight away she came up to say hello and greet my husband. They have made us all feel so welcome and helped my husband settle…they cannot do enough for him! To visit and see my husband smiling and joining in with the excellent activities coordinator is just fantastic! First-class manager and staff!
Very caring and attentive staff at all times - and support given to family as and when needed. Mum feels very secure and almost "at home". Thank you.
My mother only moved into Croft House Care Home a month ago (early October 2021) as an emergency transfer from elsewhere and after a lengthy stay in hospital. The staff and management have made Mum feel very welcome and have been excellent at keeping me informed about how she is settling. As well as supporting Mum, I have noticed how they have also helped me to settle into life with Mum in Croft House. Thank you.
I have found the staff extremely helpful and always approachable for any help that may be required. The home is kept very clean and the food is good. Most importantly, the staff are really caring.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Commendably so considering current pressures. There is good on-site parking, easy screen device sign in with sanitiser and PPE available. It is a nice, modern home with tidy gardens and good views of surrounding countryside. I have been kept well informed of any developments and access has been good with safety a priority. Due to current restrictions access has to be limited so I am unable to comment on details such as meals, activities and the like at this time.
I was a carer 24/7 for two years for my partner. She was admitted to Croft House Care Home on the 8th September, her room is lovely with all the facilities you would expect. I always find the staff helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. She seems to have settled in well despite her dementia.
Overall my husband was well cared for though he was reluctant to accept respite care, he had a good rapport with staff and seemed to benefit from the interaction with staff and other residents. My husband was unable to remember all the details of his stay but I have been able to talk to him about his time in Croft House and he would return there if respite is required on a regular basis. His only criticism was that the room did not smell fresh - the carpet was stained and there was an underlying odour - though the room was clean. The bed could have been more suitable. Low divan bed.
My mother has been a resident at Croft House for approximately 3 years. She has dementia and receives very patient help from the carers despite her behaviour being very challenging.
Mum has been at Croft House for 4 months. The staff 'got' Mum and her complex ways very quickly, and were able to relate in a realistic and empathetic way. Staff have been exceptionally supportive not only to Mum but to me as it was a difficult time and some days now can be difficult. Mum can be challenging at times but staff at Croft are caring and professional with their approach and communication with me has been excellent. I feel happy with Croft House and staff there and would recommend this care provision.
