View Full Details of The Laurels Care HomeThe Laurels Care Home is a warm, friendly place. The staff are very good, with one person in the office standing out a long way and has always been kind and reassuring. The staff are very kind to Mum, and make our family feel welcome. Mum enjoys the meals provided, and has improved both physically and mentally during her residence at The Laurels. As a family, we are concerned for Mum's privacy, as she is frequently disturbed in her room by other clients. However, the staff are usually quick to respond.
We feel very lucky to have a small, friendly care home on our doorstep. It's lovely that we get to know the staff and other residents as it was a very close, friendly atmosphere. I always feel welcome when I visit and my mother-in-law always seems happy though she is not able to join in with the activities, she enjoys having her hair done and nails painted!
We were very fortunate to find this home at a family crisis. Dad when alive held the opportunity to see my mum settle into her new home, which gave him so much reassurance.
The Laurels Care Home is like a home from home and the staff are first class. They dare and look after my dad really well. They are always really friendly and always ready to give you a drink. I think we the family were very lucky to find such a good home for our dad.
Helpful staff always ready to look after my mother. Nice clean rooms.
Very caring and attentive, lovely food, kind and thoughtful.
Care home is very friendly. All staff are very caring and answer any queries we may have honestly but compassionately. The carers do seem to really care about my father. The carers do have a sense of humour which is needed!
The Laurels is an excellent care home. The staff have given the best possible care to my father-in-law. They are all so friendly and kind. He is settled and us so well looked after, which makes us feel so happy. We would recommend this care home above any other. Thank you.
Mum-in-law lived at The Laurels for the past six months and we cannot fault the care and compassion, she received whilst living there. Sadly, her increased dementia needs meant that we had to find somewhere more suitable to meet those needs. All the staff at The Laurels were wonderful with Mum, patient, kind and so caring and did their utmost to support her and us as a family. The home itself was a real home from home and we were so sad when she had to leave. The staff were a huge help and support with what was a very difficult situation for us and continue to be so. Absolutely nothing has been too much trouble and we are so very grateful to them all. (I have not given a rating for activities simply because Mum wasn't able to take part.)
My mum has been in The Laurels for just over a year. She is 88, has advanced dementia. Her care during this time has been absolutely excellent. The staff are kind, caring, patient, and do all they can for Mum as well as supporting the family when they need it.
My mum has been at The Laurels for nearly nine months. The home is amazing as are the staff and although Mum's dementia has worsened they continue to try and include her in activities and take her out when possible. I feel we are giving her the best life possible in the circumstances and I can't thank everyone enough for their dedication love and patience.
A very positive and friendly experience, staff go over and above to provide a secure, caring environment, nothing is too much trouble. It's wonderful to know Mum is cared for so well, communication is excellent between staff and families.
A caring and homely experience, the staff were very understanding of my mother's needs. All the staff are very friendly, positive and supportive.
My late aunt enjoyed living at The Laurels. She liked the company, food, activities, outings and said the staff were always kind and caring. I saw this for myself, receiving a warm welcome each time I visited. The Laurels is a lovely place to live, very homely, not at all stuffy and it felt like a family there. It's just the sort of home I'd be happy to spend my twilight years in and would happily recommend it.
Mum always seems so happy when we visit her, also on the social media pictures seen of her, especially recently on her birthday, she was treated like a princess. The staff are really friendly, Mum seems so at home, couldn't wish for more. Thanks to all.
I used to visit The Laurels with a group of toddlers and share a music and movement session with the residents. I always got a wonderful feeling about the care given and the compassion and kindness of the staff. Since that time, a friend's mum has become a resident and I can't commend the team more for the care they give. Highly recommend.
My mum is living at The Laurels and she is cared for extremely well. I absolutely cannot fault her care. All of the staff are lovely and it is a very homely place. I know I could not have found a better place for my lovely mum.
The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The Laurels are one big happy family and they make you feel a part of it. My mum couldn't have been cared for any better by our own family. They made her feel loved, so happy and improved her quality of life. Her last few weeks, before she sadly passed away, the dignity, care, love and respect they showed my mum, was way beyond their duties and the care they showed us, as well as looking after us, was unbelievable.
We are always made welcome when we visit. They are kind, caring and the attention and individual needs are top priority. You are contacted if they have any worries about your relative. We are given regular updates.
My mum has been at The Laurels for a few years and has been assigned to someone who has been like a daughter to my mum, showing her as much love and care as we could have given her ourselves. Another lady has also not only given Mum the dignity but went that extra mile to ensure she was cared for until the end and the support The Laurels have given us, as a family, has been commendable. We, as a family, cannot give them enough praise, and they will all be in our hearts for a very long time.
