It was my husbands first time in respite and we were both a little hesitant. However, the staff were wonderful and answered any concerns we had. My husband enjoyed all his meals and the care he received from all members of staff was excellent. His room was clean and welcoming and he was not pressured into any activities he did not wish to partake in. He was overall a very pleasant experience for both of us and we will be using the service again in the near future.
Having only recently been advised that my aunt was in your care my sister and I visted for the first time yesterday 28/1/25. We were both extremly impressed from the moment we entered until we left an hour and a half later. Everything about the care level was of the highest standard. The building was warm, welcoming and very well maintained. The staff were all so proffessional, kind and caring. Our aunt's room was light airy and comfotable as were the other facilities. We spoke briefly to 3 residents who were all very happy and highly complimentary about staff and accommodation. We spoke to staff and nothing seemed too much trouble. Well done.
I have been delighted with how well my dad has settled into Moorhaven. He has looked at home ever since he got there. And he has told people he likes the home and is happy there. I believe this is due to the care of the staff. They go out of their way to make the residents happy and are a support us as a family too. Any of my observations are looked into and dealt with in a timely manner. It is a relief to leave Dad in their care knowing he's being looked after.
I was previously a training provider for many care homes and residential facilities. I have to say that Moorhaven compares exceptionally favourably. The cleanliness and staff care were excellent. Well done and many thanks to you all.
My husband has received four weeks respite care are Moorhaven whilst I underwent radiotherapy. He has been well fed and well looked after by the caring staff. They were all lovely and saw to his every need. The home itself was spotlessly clean and smelt fresh at all times. If my husband needs permanent care in the future, this is where I hope he could be.
My mother was in Moorhaven for nearly a year, she was very happy there and loved the staff. Just before she died, she'd said it was the happiest she had been for many years of which I am truly thankful. When she died, the staff were truly wonderful and couldn't do enough for us and my family and we are truly grateful. A wonderful home and staff of which I will truly recommend.
Generally very happy with her care and friendly staff. We were very disappointed to find her on her bed with no bedding. The bed had been stripped and she was led on the mattress in just her nighty, this was the day before she died. A carer came in and put a cover over her. Also, a gold necklace with both my mum's and dad's wedding rings on it has gone missing, have spoken to various staff members but it has not been found. A very disappointing end to her care. Have reported the loss to the police.
Visited partner's father. We sat at the dining room table. Next to this table a resident was obviously late for lunch as others had finished their lunch. He sat down and was brought his food by a carer. Four members of staff were sat on the table behind him and were tucking into their lunch, fair enough but this poor gentleman wasn't brought any cutlery to eat with and proceeded to eat his lunch with his fingers! I am a carer myself and was appalled by what I saw. Anyone would assume you take someone a plate of food, you give them cutlery! I got up and got him some cutlery whilst staff were oblivious eating their lunch. I'm now wondering are the resident's basic care needs being met?
My husband stayed at Moorhaven for 14 days respite. He settled in very quickly and enjoyed his stay. The staff were kind and nothing was too much trouble. His needs were met and he was cared for with kindness. He loved the food and the atmosphere at Moorhaven is very homely. The room was very clean, as for the rest of the house - I would highly recommend it.
My mum spent the last six months of her 99 years in Moorhaven Care Home. The lovely staff gave her comfort and security and as a family, we'll never forget them. The care and support they have continued to give us has been exceptional. The whole team are dedicated and professional. We will be eternally grateful.
The staff at Moorhaven have made my grandmother happy, settled and at peace. They update me regularly as to her health and recently suggested a change of room for her as her needs have adapted. I couldn't ask for more for her and I know she is happy with them as she often jokes and laughs. I am very grateful for their care.
When I visit my mum (weekly) the staff and management are always happy and welcoming. All staff are very caring and show empathy. Mum is very happy in Moorhaven. It is like a home from home, Mum has company and is cared for giving me peace of mind that she is safe and happy. Mum loves all the activities, especially bingo. I am always recommending friends Moorhaven.
It was a review with Mum, social worker and manager of Moorhaven as to whether it was suiting Mum. She is very happy there and so am I. The staff are very good and inform me immediately if anything is wrong. I did look at a few homes and this was the nicest and very homely just like their own home and nothing is too much trouble.
My sister seems very happy in the home. She enjoys her food. The staff are friendly and helpful. The problems are items of clothing that are missing and she does not wear her hearing aids. I don't know why but her feet have been bare during my last two visits. I don't think that she takes part in activities.
The atmosphere is always warm and friendly. The environment is usually clean and tidy though sometimes a little "smelly". The staff are kind though some extra manual handling training with some staff would be beneficial.
A very good care home, they look after my sister very well. They interact with her very well. She loved the food. She has been in here for just over 2 years she calls it her home. I can see she is happy when I visit her.
Good standard of care and accommodation. Consistency and communication could be better.
It has been difficult for my parents to settle into a care home environment but the staff at Moorhaven have been great in encouraging both mum and dad to participate in some of the activities with the other residents and in getting them out of their room. The staff are friendly, caring and approachable. Both my husband and I feel comfortable and more relaxed leaving them. It has been lovely to see both parents smiling.
The food is very good. Every aspect is very good. I can find no fault at all.
Well, what can I say - these people at Moorhaven are amazing. My mum has been here for eight weeks. They are the most efficient, caring, polite, wonderful and kind people you could wish to meet. My mum has always looked clean and well looked after. Attending to all her needs, they are very careful with the elderly people. What else can I say, amazing place.
