View Full Details of Nynehead CourtThis was my husband's second stay for respite care. He was treated with the utmost respect and kindness and welcomed back. The attention and care he received were second to none. Enabling me to have a restful break visiting family. He especially enjoyed the Chinese New Year banquet organised by the chef and staff.
My mother has been a resident of Nynehead Court for over two years now. She is so content here and really does consider it to be her home rather than 'being in a home'. She has nothing but praise for the staff who are kind and respectful - because of the low turnover of staff, she has made meaningful relationships with them. The food is another area she rates highly because there is plenty of choice and the chef is responsive to her likes and dislikes. She looks forward to making her choices and to the meals arriving. It is so reassuring to us as a family that she is eating well. Mum enjoys some of the activities and appreciates the efforts made by the staff and notices the kindness shown to other residents. She is not pressured into 'joining in' when she doesn't want to. It was lovely at Christmas to join her for carols in the drawing room, which was beautifully decorated, with the Wellington Silver Band leading the singing. The gardens are an added pleasure. Thanks to all.
My father has been a resident at Nynehead since August 2023. He is very much part of an extended family. My father is able to take part in all the external activities and has enjoyed the Remembrance parade, ballet, carol concert, and regular days out. All the staff treat him with respect, and their fondness for him is palpable. The staff regularly contact us regarding his ongoing medical and mental needs to ensure his ongoing care is shared as appropriate. In précis, my brothers and I truly believe that Nynehead is the best home available and the best place for our father.
Both staff and food are first class. As was the level of care and attention to detail.
As daughter of a long standing resident I have interacted with many members of the care team. I found them to be very understanding of my father's condition and needs and helpful in suggestions of how best to address those needs. Staff are friendly, polite and engage with residents throughout the day. While he was mobile staff kept an eye on his walks around the garden, monitoring exit and return. Once he was confined to his room staff visited regularly to monitor him, but in a very subtle way - housekeeping staff come in to clean or collect or return laundry, senior carers come in with medication, regular tea/coffee delivery means another person popping in for a chat. The home itself is in good condition, with the exception of the lift which is on its last legs. The quality of the food is good. Periodic resident meetings, to which family are invited provide opportunity for feedback. The management are always willing to discuss and resolve any issues.
My ninety-two-year-old mother has been a resident of Nynehead Court for four years. She has loved her time there, not least because of skilled and compassionate care from the staff. Her relationship with Nynehead was put to the test earlier this year after she had a stroke. She spent weeks in a local hospital and then a residential rehab unit. Because of her frailty, there was a debate over whether she should be discharged back to Nynehead or to a nursing home. We wanted Mum to return to Nynehead where she could be surrounded by familiar and friendly faces. We are so grateful that Nynehead supported us and worked diligently with NHS representatives to ensure that she would receive proper and appropriate post-stroke care. Nynehead didn't need to do this, they could have allowed Mum to be sent to a nursing home. But the senior management recognized their responsibility to their resident. Now Mum is receiving wonderful and quite labor-intensive care at Nynehead Court.
A tranquil setting with magnificent grounds. My mother has been made to feel at home from the beginning of her stay and welcomed into the Nynehead family. The staff are very aware of her needs, and embrace, and encourage her interests. Her room is spotlessly clean as well as comfortably furnished. I highly recommend all that Nynehead Court offers my mum.
I have been to look around quite a few care homes recently. This is the first that has been professional but caring without being too clinical. I needed somewhere that Dad would feel like he was having a break/holiday rather than feeling he was being placed in a hospital environment. Here he has good company, stimulation and was treated with care and respect.
The staff at Nynehead Court are simply wonderful. They are lively, caring and always interested in my mother. My mother is well fed and happy and content. She is encouraged to join in many activities which she enjoys. She seems much more well since she has been at Nynehead. The staff are also very supportive to the family as it is a difficult step moving mother to a care home. Nynehead Court is an excellent choice.
Sometimes I feel the food could be better presented, and at times, the meat is too chunky and a bit off-putting. At this stage of life, meals are very important. The staff are cheerful and kind. Overall, there is a lovely atmosphere, and the activities ladies do a wonderful job, which really provides positivity for the residents.
Mum has been at Nynehead Court for seven months and has settled in really well. All the staff are so kind, caring and understanding. Despite numerous Covid lockdowns, they always remained so cheerful and positive and continues to provide great activities. It was a difficult decision to move mum from her flat to Nynehead Court, but after seven months, as a family, we are sure we made the right decision as mum has benefited so much from the companionship of the other residents and the care of the staff.
I can say hand on heart the team at Nynehead Court are remarkable. My mother hates having to be in a residential home, yet the care and attention she gets makes her life bearable - even joyful at times. Even through lockdown, the care has been unfaltering. I have only experienced the highest standard of care for my mother.
My now 98-year-old aunt moved into Nynehead Court in November 2019 and settled in well before the pandemic. Nynehead Court has been exceptional in their care during the last incredibly difficult two years, They have communicated well with relatives, been efficient and good-humoured throughout. I highly recommend them.
Mum moved to Nynehead Court four weeks ago. She has settled there really well, and we are very impressed by the quality of the care in all respects and by the management of the home.
My mother's been at Nynehead for several months, and we've been very pleased with the care and professionalism of the staff. The facilities and garden are excellent, and the activities organised have been appreciated by her.
My mother and father and now an auntie have been residents in this home on and off since 2008. Mother having a four years stay and passing away peacefully at this home. The staff are so caring, polite and welcoming; many having been there for many years, a true sign of a contented family environment. There is nothing more pleasant when visiting to be welcome by name. Rooms are airy, cleaned regularly, and residents looked in upon many times during the day. Feels like a little community.
My mother has been a resident for 2 years now and is feeling happy and safe there. The staff couldn't be more helpful, charming and friendly. In these current turbulent times the attention to detail has been exemplary.
My mother lived at Nynehead Court for over eight years. At first, she lived a (supported) independent life in her bungalow in the Court grounds, but as her dementia became worse and after a fall, she moved into a single room in the Mulberry Wing. Both in her own home and in the dementia wing, she received excellent care which respected her independent spirit and gave her a good quality of life, as well as providing increasing support for her deteriorating mental health and physical frailty. During the last, difficult weeks of her life, I always knew I could trust the Nynehead staff to care for Mum with their customary professionalism, sensitivity and kindness which maintained her comfort and dignity to the very end. The Nynehead staff have also been exceptionally caring and supportive to us as a family, both throughout Mum's years at the Court and particularly during her final illness, despite the extra difficulties and restrictions of lock-down.
My mother has been a resident since November 2019; prior to this she was a day visitor three times per week. She has settled happily despite the period of lockdown and has made friends with other residents and the staff, which has been all the more important when family have been unable to visit her. Whenever possible Nynehead have organised a programme of activities which Mum greatly enjoys. Nynehead locked down very early and have handled the COVID-19 epidemic very well. The staff have been caring, attentive and cheerful despite these difficult circumstances and especially the requirement to wear PPE. I particularly appreciated their help in arranging regular FaceTime and Skype calls for me as this enabled me to give regular updates on my mother's wellbeing to the rest of our large family. The admin side is efficient and responsive and I am kept well informed about my mother's wellbeing. Nynehead Court stands out because of its caring staff and excellent premises.
My mother took some getting used to being at Nynehead Court and did not settle in initially for a while. When she started making more social contact with other residents and staff, life became easier. The staff were very supportive and went out of their way sometimes to meet her requirements. My wife and I were very impressed by the flexibility regarding meals and accommodation for guests on a casual basis.
