Rowden House team are very friendly and helpful. They make everyone feel at home. The care they provide is very personal, the food is freshly cooked and very tasty. They made every effort to make my mother's stay as comfortable as possible.
Mum was given 2 weeks of respite care due to Dad being taken into hospital. Everything was done at short notice, but this was no problem. The whole system was simple and easy with great help from all who were here. Mum was made very welcome and I cannot thank everyone enough. Thank you!
In all aspects of the service provision, I have witnessed great care and attention delivered to the residents. The staff unfailingly attends to the needs and wishes of the residents in a timely, respectful, and constructive manner.
Rowden House has been amazing for my mum, she has now been there a year and in that time has been made to feel comfortable and cared for. The staff are brilliant with her and although she doesn't participate in any activities there always seems to be lots on offer. The food is great and since being there she looks so much healthier. I couldn't have asked for more. The room is cosy and clean and she has very much made herself at home, thank you!
When visiting, I have to wait for some time for the front door to be opened, usually by a busy member of staff who has to quickly disappear for another alarm that needs to be answered, this is also the case when I want to leave. It has been mentioned that a visiting room would be put downstairs this would be a fantastic addition, as downstairs feels very empty and depressing, it would be nice for a member of staff to be situated there as it's a long way for them to come if needed.
I'm pleased to say my mother has been given excellent care and attention. I appreciate the way the staff have treated her like a friend and have kept me informed of Mum's condition and her wellbeing. Thank you.
With my father terminally ill, they were able to take mother and father to support each other. Father only lasted 10 days, mother is now a confident and happy resident, settled. It made such a difference having them together, a big thank you to all the staff. Could not have asked for more.
At the end of April, I visited my old neighbour/friend for the first time. I was very impressed with Rowden House Care Home. It had a home-from-home warm feeling. I thought the two care workers I saw were caring, compassionate and helpful. The standard of cleaning was high. My friend looked well and happy. The outside grounds and gardens and seating and outdoor room were all cared for and colourful. I can't comment on the management, food and drink or value for money as I didn't come across them or know what it costs.
Rowden House is a very nice building, decorated very well, very clean and homely. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
Both my parents have been residents in Rowden House since June 2022. They are both very settled and very happy. Dad will be 102 in April and Mum 100 in November. They celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on Saturday 20th January 2024 with an afternoon tea for family and friends in one of the lovely lounges in Rowden House. Everyone was made to feel very welcome and at home by all the staff. Thank you Rowden House for all your caring ways!
My aunt continues to be extremely well looked after at Rowden House. Whenever I visit she says how kind and caring the staff are, how much she likes her room, and how good the food is. The staff are always friendly and helpful whenever I visit or ring with any queries. They can always be depended upon to contact me promptly to seek consent for vaccinations and the like, and to report any issues of concern. This is particularly significant to me as I live at some distance from the area, and contributes greatly to my peace of mind. The home runs a comprehensive activity programme and they are especially good at marking significant birthdays.
Mum moved in the middle of December. She has dementia and has not been very vocal. From the first day, the difference in her has been amazing. She actively tries to answer. She always looks so happy and so well-dressed. This is all down to the staff who take time with every resident to make them feel included. The staff and management definitely go the extra mile with both residents and families. Would 100% recommend this care home.
Rowden House is a really kind home. My mum is looked after well and is happy there. There are activities every day and the staff are very friendly and encourage the residents to take part in these.
Another year has passed and my satisfaction (and Mym's) of the care, support and overall experience of staying at Rowden House continues. What a great choice we made. Thie year it's got even better with more activities and trips out. I relax and do not feel under pressure to visit knowing Mum is safe, well cared for and engaging in activities. Thanks again team Rowden.
Mum has been at Rowden House for nearly twenty months now and feels settled. The staff are always welcoming when we go to visit and update us on her health and well-being. Mum has been challenging at times and required a great deal of support. The staff at Rowden House have been fantastic and have used their experience and knowledge to maintain a calm and friendly environment in their home. They are always trying to raise money to enrich the lives of the residents. The home has looked great in preparation for Halloween, and we remain very pleased with the excellent care and support given to Mum.
My dad has recently completed a trial period at Rowdenb House and is now a permanent resident. He has Alzheimer's and was finding life at home with a live-in carer very difficult. Since he moved to Rowden I have seen a real improvement in his general mood. Although he still finds many things confusing, he is so much calmer and is obviously much less stressed. It's hard for him to keep track of what's happening at times due to his condition, but a constant comment has been how friendly he finds everyone at Rowden, and that the food is very good! I'm hoping he'll engage more with people around him - it's early days, but I know the staff are doing all they can to encourage him, while respecting his wishes. It's such a relief to know that he's being looked after by people who so obviously care about him - many thanks to all the Rowden staff.
Very good.
From day one of my mothers stay at Rowden House she was made to feel at home and part of the community. The love and affection she received was amazing. On several occasions staff carried out extra duties to ensure mum was comfortable and in no way distressed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rowden House and staff. Heartfelt thanks to all staff and Management.
I am here on a week's respite while my family are on holiday. All the rooms are in good order. I found the staff who have been looking after me very good. For me, the activities could be better as I am a keen gardener so outdoor facilities are important.
To place a parent into residential care is undoubtedly a daunting experience, especially during a pandemic! The transition from home to Rowden House was a smooth process; the staff listened to our wishes as a family and took time to ask about Mum's needs, her likes and dislikes, and really grasped an understanding of who Mum is as an individual person. The staff are professional, caring, patient and supportive. We are always greeted with a smile and an update on visiting, and my video calls are welcomed whatever time of the day. The staff have good links with the GP's and medical services and quickly act if there is a problem. Mum looks very well taken care of, the food is excellent, her laundry and her room is spotlessly clean. She feels settled, comfortable and safe. She enjoys having her nails painted, hair done and it's been a joy to witness Mum joining in the fun activities that Rowden provide. Thank you for your care and for providing a happy safe environment.
