Always made to feel welcome when visiting my mother. There are plenty of activities every day. The garden in the summer is a joy and very well kept. Overall the home is excellent and I can relax knowing she is in safe hands.
Grandma has been a new resident since mid-June. The information and support provided to arrange a place was excellent with an unannounced tour, lots of information and guidance and general conversation to ensure Grandma was settling. Grandma has settled extremely well, down solely I am sure to the wonderful care and carers. Everyone is so nice, smiley and nothing is too much trouble with a coffee way arranged for the family for Grandma's birthday being an example. Communiocation and advocating for Grandma with health services has been great. I have felt Grandma is safe, cared for and I can relax. Thank you.
The Garden Party at Southlawns was a lovely afternoon. Lots of food and drink. Everyone so nice, staff so helpful and kind.
Ever since my mum has been living here she has been treated with dignity and respect. She has a lovely room and enjoys the interactions she has with the staff. She feels safe and looked after.
Most of the staff are patient and understanding of my father's condition and problems, one or two (he tells me) need to allow more time to deal with him. It would be nice if the 'call button' had a quicker response from staff.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a special cream tea at Southlawns, where residents can invite friends and family members to join them for an individual cream tea in the garden. It was a lovely experience. The home provided a top-rate cream tea, with sandwiches, scones and cake and every effort was made to make us feel pampered and special. Thank you, and well done, Southlawns!
I came to have afternoon tea with a family friend this afternoon, and it was absolutely lovely with a great selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones, plus tea or coffee. The tables had been set up outside and beautifully decorated. Both my friend and the ladies on the next table were all wearing summer hats, and the staff were extremely attentive and friendly, as always. I have visited my friend here on a number of occasions and am always impressed by the standard of care and how well-turned out she always is, with spotlessly clean clothes and tidy hair, etc. She is always at great pains to tell me how well looked after she is, which must give her family tremendous peace of mind.
Excellent.
Staff always very helpful and friendly. Staff always ask if I would like a drink when coming around at that time of day. Room always clean.
We were invited to a cream/afternoon tea at Southlawns. My mother-in-law's grandaughter and myself had a lovely afternoon. The support for all was really good, and you could tell by the faces of all the people they were having a great time. Thank you to all that helped with the afternoon.
Thank you to all involved with planning and putting on the tea at Southlawns this afternoon. What a very special thing to do! The welcome was wonderful, the food was delicious, and it was lovely to have as much time as we wanted to relax and chat. We were treated to a turn around the garden to admire the vegetables, flowers and hanging baskets which looked fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff members helping us.
Just spent two hours at Southlawns, visiting my grandmother. Went with my two children and mum to the gardening club. What a fab time we all had. My son helped with the potatoes and tomato harvest. Had tea and biscuits, and one lady couldn't do enough for us. Lovely to see all the generations together.
Had a love afternoon at a garden party with my mum, my nephew and his wife. Everything about it, the food and staff were lovely. I'm so happy Mum was given a place at Southlands. The staff are so lovely, and Mum is really settled and happy to be there.
A brilliant care home. Staff care about residents and relatives. Wonderful Jubilee celebration and excellent afternoon tea today. Always clean and well kept in all areas in the home. It's just like a home from home. Delicious goof. Well done, everyone.
I was invited to attend a "tea party"; the whole afternoon was fabulous! Extremely well set up for residents and visiting families. Staff were amazing, and the food was fantastic! Such a fabulous idea, well done!
My brothers and I were delighted to come along to the tea that was organised for residents and their family members. Help in the garden at Southlawns on Tuesday, August 10th 2021, we were very happy with the weather. There was no element of luck involved in the marvellous tea that was provided. Lots of hard work and organisation obviously went into making for a perfect afternoon. The staff, as usual, were excellent, the garden, a picture and the catering skills on display, outstanding. Thanks for the opportunity to spend quality time with our mother.
Coming to a decision to make your parent admitted to a care home is huge. The staff at Southlawns have been brilliant, not just during that process but every day. The tea afternoon was a beautiful idea. Extremely well executed.
We had a lovely afternoon tea at Southlawns with Mum. The staff did an excellent job of making sure our needs and the needs of my mother were fulfilled. Had a lovely chat with the manager about the care of my mother and the day they had organised. Overall, a very nice afternoon made all the better by very good staff. Thank you.
Fantastic afternoon! And well done to Southlawns for organising a lovely afternoon tea; the sun was shining. The staff were so attentive and chatting around visitors and residents. The sandwiches, cakes, scones were presented beautifully. The staff work hard and really care for the residents. It's been a very difficult time for all, and I, for one, apricate everything they do for my lovely mum. Thank you to all the team at Southlawns.
All the family could not have asked for better care for mum in her last few years. The staff were all so patient and understanding with mum, even through the final stages of dementia. Mum was always encouraged to join in the many activities on offer, which staff knew she enjoyed. She was part of a really caring community. It was a real comfort to me that mum was surrounded by people and their busy lives and not left to sit alone. The care and kindness shown to mum and me over mum's last few very difficult weeks was amazing. Thank you Southlawns.
