View Full Details of Sydenham HouseSydnham House and all the staff have been amazing in supporting my grandad, from day visits to support his loneliness just after COVID to him becoming a full resident after a health deteriation. The process to grandad becoming a resident was extremely difficult and took a lot from me in regards to energy, time and mental health but the manager was there for me every step of the way, she communicated with me regularly, supported me with the social services with grandad's best interests at the heart of everything she did. The manager and team continue to offer this dedication to myself and grandad. The care and love they have for him is such a beautiful thing to witness and makes me feel safe that he is receiving the best possible care daily. Grandad loves getting involved in all the activities especially bowls and singing and dancing along with the entertainment that is provided regularly. Music is such a magical thing for people with dementia and I have witnessed grandad come alive on these days.
A lovely welcoming home, a place you can go and visit your loved one and feel at ease. The staff here do such a fantastic job, not just with the people they care for but also with the ones who are visiting. My mum has come on in leaps and bounds since being here, enjoying meal times with others, to joining in with activities, things she wouldn't have done before. I can see a high difference in her now and its all thanks to them.
I've been visiting my aunty regularly for a year and always found the staff friendly and treat residents with 100% care and respect at all times, even in challenging times. Last week my aunty had a fall and an ambulance was called. On my arrival, my aunty was still on the floor and two staff were sat with her. I stayed until the ambulance left with her and during that hour or two I was impressed with everything the team did from the staff to the manager (even the chef came and spoke to her). Well done team. Thank you.
The staff at Sydenham House have been amazing. Dad was really distressed when he arrived and the team knew exactly how to help him. We are very grateful.
My mum is now 93, and she has had a fantastic two-week stay at Sydenham House. She keeps saying how lovely, kind and considerate all the staff have been. She loved all the activities and the fantastic company that she has had over the last two weeks. She has already requested to go back at Christmas. Million thanks on behalf of my mum.
My aunt entered Sydenham House Bridgwater this year at the end of July. After a different care home in Bridgwater closed. The team at Sydenham House Bridgwater have gone above and beyond to help my aunt settle into her new room and her new life at Sydenham House. The team also help my aunt with her doctors appointments and hospital appointments. My aunt is happy with her move and likes the team who are giving 110% good service everyday! I visit my aunt regularly and see all the staff regularly who are always pleased to see me. They are all very helpful when I need questions answered and anything else I need for my aunt. I am 100% happy that my aunt is in Sydenham House with the team which makes a big difference when you live over an hour away! Thank you for all you do, please keep up the good work moving forward!
Our relative has been in Sydenham House for a month now and loves it there. There are lots of activities including craft days. The staff we have met are very nice and always helpful. We really like the four-chair lounge areas where you can have your visit rather than in the resident's room or the main communal lounge. We are so pleased that our relative is very happy there.
All the staff are welcoming and caring towards us and gran. Nothing seems to be too much for them. Thank you for all you do!
My sister entered Sydenham House last year after losing her husband. The staff at Sydenham House have literally brought her back from the edge; she is so settled and content, plus she feels safe and cared for. I have nothing but praise for every member of staff who makes me feel most welcome when l visit.
My husband has had respite at Sydenham House for a few years now but recently had to spend several weeks there. I cannot fault the care and support they have givens us or the cleanliness. It always smells lovely when walking through the corridors. Many thanks to all the staff.
After being discharged from the hospital after my 4th hip replacement, I was not ready to go home, but the hospital said I had to leave. The staff and care I have received were excellent. They have made me feel more confident and stronger to come home.
My mother entered respite care in October. My sister was the contact person for my mother. She visited Sydenham House, had a tour, asked about the care provided, etc. She was told that great care would be taken with our mother. Mum had just spent a difficult week in hospital and she needed some help to recover. She was promised excellent care but did not receive that. It was quite costly to stay at Sydenham House and instead of helping her to get back on her feet, her treatment and lack of good care, further compounded her weakened body. My mother left on day 4. My sister and I would not recommend Sydenham House for respite care.
When visiting my grandmother, the staff are friendly and very helpful. My grandmother loves it here. She has been eating, drinking and talking. She was not doing this at home. She is also enjoying the activities. I also found the deputy manager very, very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
Very welcoming and spotless, clean, and nice and fresh smells as you walk in. Staff very approachable. Deputy manager very helpful as I ask her a lot of questions regarding Mum's stay there. Mum has been housebound for three years, does not go out, speech affected, low in mood, and did not want to be here. Since being in Sydenham House, she is a different lady. All staff have been excellent.
Excellent home. My mother stayed with Sydenham House for a week's respite in July. The staff were attentive and welcoming. Her room was a lovely size and was well furnished. It was spotless too, as we're the communal areas, which is reassuring, especially in these times and the toilets I used while I was visiting were very clean. Mum enjoyed her stay at Sydenham House, and should she need to go into respite again, I would have no hesitation in using Sydenham House again. Thank you for everything.
My mum was a resident for nearly four years. She felt comfortable and at home. I visited very regularly and could see that she was well looked after. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The home put in sensible measures during Covid, and the staff were great. They looked after Mum well when she had Covid. The home is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated.
I can not thank the staff at Sydenham House enough for the care my mum received. All the staff are very friendly and approachable. The home itself is very clean and tidy. She enjoyed the food and entertainment; it was very homely.
The staff have been great during Covid. They look after our mum very well especially when she had Covid. Also, the Platinum Jubilee celebrations were excellent with great organisation, fantastic food and a great atmosphere. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed, at long last, celebrating a memorable day. Thank you.
Myself and my sister had a lovely afternoon with our Mum on Saturday 4th June for the Platinum Jubilee party. The staff had gone to a lot of trouble to decorate, and the food was fantastic. It was so nice to have time with Mum on a lovely occasion and to see Mum surprised and delighted to see us. She laughed and really enjoyed the afternoon. So a very big thank you to all.
My mother-in-law has recently moved into Sydenham House for respite. She has been so happy with the wonderful care she has received. She is hoping to stay and make it her new home (funding permitting). The staff have always been very professional and kind to her visitors. Always very cheerful and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
