View Full Details of Tudor LodgeWe cannot recommend this wonderful residential care home highly enough. What began as respite care, obtained in a panic, soon became full-time after we realised that Dad could no longer live alone. There is so much warmth and care in this home from all the staff - everyone was welcoming and their work ethic is humbling. The respect and feeling they have for all the residents is so clear, like a huge family. I had been dreading the idea of Christmas with Dad in a home but I didn't need to - what amazing celebrations and fantastic food. He was never lonely. The weekly entertainment programme is brilliant, so many activities and great singers/musicians. And we have been so impressed with the cleanliness and the beautiful garden. Dad was so well cared for at Tudor Lodge and it was devastating to leave but he is at the stage where his dementia requires more specialist and secure care. An old friend of Dad's said "Well you fell on your feet there - what a place!" I couldn't agree more.
Tudor Lodge is a wonderful care home. The manager runs it so well, assisted by an excellent team of staff, most of whom have worked there a long time, which tells you a lot. My dad was a resident for just over seven weeks, following hospital discharge. He received care with kindness, compassion, dignity and - above all - love. Nothing was too much trouble and were never made to feel we were in the way, despite visiting practically every day, which is what we promised Dad. Tudor Lodge itself is warm, clean and comfortable (with no nasty smells!), the food is excellent and an extensive programme of activities and visits is laid on for those who are able to participate. My dad celebrated his 94th birthday there, and the chef made a beautiful cake for him to share with the other residents, something they do for all. We were so happy and fortunate the manager had a room for Dad in his hour of need and we would not hesitate to recommend you visit to decide for yourself.
This is the second time my mum has stayed at Tudor Lodge for respite care following a stay in hospital. I cannot praise the owner and his staff enough for everything they have done to make it possible for my mum to stay with them. The staff are all so friendly and caring and make you feel so welcome. The care home has such a 'homely' feel and they cannot do enough for the residents and visitors. I would highly recommend Tudor Lodgr to everyone.
My mother-in-law has been a resident in Tudor Lodge for two and a half years, in all of this time she has been very happy and we couldn't ask for better care from all of the staff, they all genuinely care for the residents and do their utmost to keep them happy and healthy. The food is second to none and they keep the residents entertained. We feel this home is an absolute gem and you would go a long way to find another home as excellent.
My grandmother spent her last years at Tudor Lodge and I feel very fortunate and grateful that she ended up there. The place is faultless in all the basic ways (cleanliness, facilities, food, etc) but also goes above and beyond with its genuine warmth and family atmosphere. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a thoroughly well-managed place for their loved ones that really feels like home.
My aunt was a resident at Tudor Lodge for 13 years. She suffered from type 1 diabetes and other health issues, mainly linked to old age. She, at times, was not the easiest person to deal with, but the staff were very patient with her and over the years formed an excellent relationship. Also, she could be very fussy regarding her diet, but again with care and consideration by the staff her dietary preferences were always catered for. Nothing was too much trouble for the carers to make her feel comfortable. During the COVID lockdown, the running of the home was severely disrupted, but because of the professionalism of the staff and in particular the manager we were kept informed of restriction rules. When it was safe to do so family and friends were allowed back in to visit and always took precautions by wearing masks and hand sanitizer was always available. We could not have chosen a better home for her very clean, caring and professional.
The staff were excellent, both caring and admin/executive. The caring staff were very efficient, kind and reliable including administration of medication. The admin/executive staff were very helpful, responsive and efficient. The home was clean and warm and there was plenty to do for residents. The food was really good and my mother prospered during her respite visit. I really cannot recommend the home more highly.
My dad had to go into care in June 2023 due to his vascular dementia. He'd been given respite before going into full-time care. The first care home he went to was awful and as a carer myself I saw red flags and refused to leave my dad there. Then he went to Tudor Lodge, and what a difference. The home is superb. It's welcoming and clean, staff and management are professional, friendly, and so caring toward my dad and the rest of our family. The food is amazing and my dad is fed extremely well. He's very settled at Tudor Lodge, which is key to his condition. He knows the routine there and loves all the staff. He always looks clean and smart whenever I arrive to see him. I'm very happy with the care my dad receives at Tudor Lodge which is 1st class.
Lovely comfortable home. My mother-in-law has just stayed for 2 weeks respite, this was a return visit and she loved it just as much as the first time. The staff are amazing as is the food.
My father was a resident of Tudor Lodge for two weeks respite care. He found it warm and comfortable and was very happy with the excellent care given by all the staff. He especially enjoyed the quality and variety of the meals provided. He was also able to occasionally take part in the regular craft and entertainment sessions that were offered. The manager and his care manager were happy to discuss Dad’s needs and kept me up to date with any changes in Dad’s condition. It was very reassuring to know that he was happy and so well cared for, thank you Tudor Lodge.
The heating is very efficient. Winter menu provides excellent off. District nurses are kind and helpful during their weekly visits. A month ago I came to Tuder Lodge straight from hospital. My son and his wife had visited previously and were most impressed. I could not have done better.
I was looking for a care home that could accommodate both my mother and father but places like this are very difficult to find. On contacting Tudor Lodge they made this possible by providing two rooms close together, one to be used as a twin bedroom and the other as a sitting room. Since moving to Tudor Lodge my parents have felt very much at home there. The home is extremely well run with excellent management and staff, nothing is ever too much trouble. The care and attention they receive is of the highest standard, all the staff are very professional and warm hearted treating residents with dignity and love. The communication between the home and myself is first class. One thing I would like to highlight is the outstanding quality and presentation of the food at mealtimes. Also, snacks and drinks are frequently offered throughout the day and "happy hour" at 4pm is a very nice gesture which is appreciated by my parents. When I visit I always receive a warm welcome.
My grandmother was a resident in Tudor Lodge for a number of years and I cannot praise highly enough all the staff for the care she received there. She loved living there and told me how happy she was. She had a lovely bedroom where she could relax if she wanted to but she would often go down to the living room to mix with the other residents. She really enjoyed the activities that took place, and particularly liked it when the singer visited as she loved to sing along. The staff were all really caring towards her and very friendly to everyone, if I ever wanted to ask a question about something, they were very helpful. She used to say that the food at mealtimes was very good, and she was always given drinks and snacks between meals during the day. Visiting her was a pleasure, I was always made to feel welcome. Because Tudor Lodge is so good, I could relax in the knowledge that my grandmother was being looked after really well, I had complete faith in the staff there.
Tudor Lodge has really turned my mother around both physically and mentally, taking each day at a time, according to her needs. To hear her laugh and enjoy life again is amazing. She has a fantastic connection with all the staff and always speaks so highly of them all. I am a frequent visitor to the home, and it’s refreshing and warming to hear both the staff and the residents laughing together. Everyone is so friendly, and they certainly keep the family members informed of everything. No day goes by without an activity in which everyone is encouraged to participate. The food is of a high standard, and Mum describes the home as a magnificent hotel. I would highly recommend this residential home to your loved ones, and I am confident that we made the right choice for our mum. A real home from home.
Mum felt very at home at Tudor Lodge. The staff and all the residents made her feel very welcome. Her care was exceptional and she always commented on the cleanliness, of not just her room, but the whole home. She enjoyed the get-togethers and activities which kept her mind and body alert. Mum loved looking at the garden and although would never admit it she loved her visits from Bella the resident cat. She kept the chef on his toes giving him her advice (whether needed or not ) from her many years in catering but the food was always very good. The staff were always professional and kind to all our family. I have and will always recommend Tudor Lodge to anyone wanting somewhere safe and inviting for their elderly family member. Thank you to everyone there.
Since my husband became a resident at Tudor Lodge, I have regained both my health and my life. At 85, I could no longer care for my 90-year-old husband in the way he deserves. Thank you Tudor Lodge for being there and for being a lifeline.
My positive first impression was when the door to Tudor Lodge opened. So welcoming and clean! My father had only been a resident for a few months and I was unable to visit due to travel and Covid regulations. I didn't know what to expect and how my father was coping. There was no need to worry. The staff encourage my father to join in with the daily/weekly activities. He enjoys the various entertainment. The daily meal menu is plentiful and flexible with my father's individual choice if it is not on the menu. During my visits his room was always very clean, his clothes were clean, and he was dressed appropriately as he needs assistance dressing. The care staff are friendly and professional and engage my father in conversations. My father's safety especially with the assistance required due to his mobility issues was upheld by the staff. Management are responsive to requests and questions.
My mother was a resident in Tudor Lodge Residential Home, Burnham-on-Sea for the last three years of her life. She passed away at the age of 100 years and 11 months. I could not have hoped for a better place for my mother to stay. It is a wonderful home and has amazing professional staff, all very caring and compassionate. Nothing is too much trouble. Excellent well-balanced meals are prepared and served with a large selection to choose from. The home is very warm and comfortable with a lovely conservatory and gardens. Entertainment/activities are scheduled every day for the residents. I remained confident that my mother was well looked after throughout her stay at the home and it was a great weight off my mind to know she was safe and happy. I must congratulate all the staff at the home for looking after all its residents during the terrible shut down, due to the Virus. I would be more than happy to recommend Tudor Lodge to anyone who is looking for a wonderful home for their loved ones.
Excellent care, excellent staff and always clean and tidy.
My mother has been here for three years and is looked after extremely well and is loved by the staff and often, residents too.
