View Full Details of Hungerford HouseMy mum is a resident at the home and her overall experience is good. The key elements of food, drink and care are very good. The home works hard at providing entertainment for those who wish to participate and there is really good wifi to enable other rooms of communication and entertainment. Occasionally the admin seems a little ad-hoc, but the vast majority of the carers are hard-working and very approachable.
Fantastic home, helpful staff. Clean and welcoming. The staff show such a huge amount of empathy and compassion towards the residents and nothing is too much trouble. Very person-centred and accommodating. The manager always makes time to give any updates and answer any questions about our loved one. Would recommend this care home.
My mother had dementia and was in assisted living with care 4 times a day with a lot of help from me. I had a breakdown and my mum was brought into Hungerford House in September 2022. The care, concern and stimulation she has received are amazing. My mum had lost weight 11st decreasing to 6st 6lbs on entering the home. She eats 3 meals a day, is clean, well cared for and very happy she has staff 24/7 to look after her. The home is amazing.
The staff is always helpful and friendly, the food is good and cups of tea are made regularly for the residents, since moving in my mother-in-law has improved by leaps and bounds as she is being stimulated with constant contact with other residents and staff.
My mum was in Hungerford House Care Home for six weeks. The carers were a delight always smiling and when passing my mum would always stop and chat with her. They go out of their way to make everyone feel special. The personal care they provided was of a high standard. Her clothes were washed and returned to her promptly and her room was kept clean. She did not get involved in many activities but she enjoyed having her nails painted. The food was wholesome. A Hairdresser and Chiropodist also visit regularly.
I find the facilities at Hungerford House hard to fault and the staff that I have encountered have been exceptional. My mother received such a warm welcome and my confidence in the care she is benefitting from has been so reassuring. Mum's admission into the 'family atmosphere' was handled with a great deal of efficiency, consideration and kindness. I was full of trepidation but I have been very impressed by the attitude and professionalism we have experienced to date.
I cannot praise Hungerford House enough. The care my dad receives is exemplary. It is a difficult decision to place a loved one in a care home and I know that my dad is in far better health for being in such a lovely environment.
A very nice place to visit and live all are treated very well. Nice welcome always.
Mum has been in Hungerford House Care Home for five months. She is a long-term resident. Mum has settled in very well. The staff are excellent, this includes everyone from cleaners, maintenance, admin, carers and chef. Nothing is too much trouble for them. And not forgetting the home manager. The room Mum has is very small but is enough for her needs. I would recommend this home to everyone. They always have time for me if I need to ask any questions.
My nan passed away last night in Hungerford house in Corsham. Your staff are first-class carers that show so much compassion and empathy. The two days I was there by my nan's side they supported myself and my aunt and showed my nan the respect she deserved even after she passed. Please praise them as they are amazing and made my time there comfortable and supported. You have trained your staff well. The care home is homely and well managed. A huge thank you to all the carers, care leaders and managers. Also staff in the reception.
The communication from the home was amazing. Staff were fantastic with updates for visiting. Always kept updated with visiting, My mum is so well looked after. Cannot fault the care she gets. The staff are so welcoming and caring.
Wonderful, caring, friendly. They always have time to talk with you. They keep my husband happy and well-fed. He has peace of mind and they have their sing-a-longs. He says he asks for cups of tea and it's there for him. He has his own bedroom with T.V. They all meet up with one another in a day room and chat. Family can visit just ask for a day and date and if available yes.
I believe the home is run very well. The staff are excellent and always have time to help me if needed. I enjoy having a shower in the morning and look forward to breakfast. I like to stretch my legs and take a walk in the gardens. I enjoyed watching the young chicks in the garden.
All the staff are kind to me, my father, and most importantly, my mum. She's always clean and tidy. She likes all her carers too. As we can't really go in the home, difficult to answer some of the questions.
A wonderful place. My mother settled in almost right away. The staff are so friendly and professional. Residents are treated with dignity and fantastic care. This has continued through the pandemic.
My wife came to Hungerford House at the beginning of October 2020, since then due to the coronavirus I have been restricted to see her once a week. The carers are looking after her extremely well, hoping in the near future to be able to see her and the carers more.
Excellent staff so friendly and helpful. My mother-in-law seems very happy and looks so healthy and clean.
We think the staff are exceptionally caring. My mum seems very happy and love the food.
The staff n the home have always been excellent and supportive of my mother. All zoom calls have been arranged very well and our first face to face meeting on 3rd May 2021 was arranged very professionally. Mum seems very happy in the house and this must be down to the excellent care she is receiving.
This review is based on the limited access to Mum due to Covid restrictions. However, the staff have been excellent in facilitating my visits and making the process as easy as possible. Mum is still very happy and all her needs seem to be continuing to be cared for. It will be good to get back to 'normal' visits and be able to help Mum more with things like her hearing aids, walks in the garden or park and a coffee out.
