View Full Details of Stainsbridge HouseMy aunt's care has been very good. The carers try to encourage and are very patient when she does not cooperate. Her room is bright and welcoming. The kitchen staff provide a varied menu to encourage her to eat as she often refuses. Overall I am very pleased with the care that she is receiving.
My sister was a resident of Stainsbridge House for eighteen months and I was constantly impressed by the level of care, compassion and good humour displayed by the staff. I was kept informed of any relevant matters relating to the care programme and activities for the residents were well organised and imaginative.
The home is staffed by people who are friendly, cheerful, warm, aware, professional and dedicated. Focusing on dementia care means that situations and problems have been seen before and nothing fazes the staff. They seem to be not only aware of each resident's particular needs in detail but also the way in which their problems may progress. Meals are always excellent, appetising and tailored to individual needs and snacks can be made available between meals as seen fit. There are many and varied activities for residents to partake of, and be involved in. The manageress is upbeat, welcoming, inclusive and dedicated and has created a real family feel to the care home, not just towards the residents and staff but towards visiting families and friends of residents. My wife has been treated with understanding, empathy and patience and I have no hesitation recommending Stainsbridge House.
My husband has Corticobasal degeneration and Alzheimer's and Parkinson's so is in very poor health. He cannot care for himself at all so needs to be fed and given drinks. The same for personal care. The staff are truly wonderful. They are very caring and look after my husband extremely well. I am very grateful to them, so thank you. I thoroughly recommend Stainsbridge House.
This care home is excellent. The manager makes it. It is well run and kept to simple needs. Residents are kept comfortable, happy and safe. The activities are excellent. A real family feel to the place. The food is excellent, there are good choices, and it's good home cooking. I can't praise it enough!
Mum moved to Stainsbridge House in June 22. All the staff have worked extremely hard to make her feel welcome and comfortable in her new surroundings. She settled really quickly but was allowed the time she needed to adjust to her new home. She is always treated with dignity and respect and is encouraged to make her own decisions about how she spends her day. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and have encouraged Mum to join in group activities, such as singing and listening to live music, when she wants to. She has enjoyed playing scrabble with other residents and word searches, which she really enjoys. There is a feeling of calm in the home and a deep sense of caring by every member of staff. We are very happy with how things are working out, and as a family, we feel we are listened to about any matters relating to Mum's care.
When my mum was taken into hospital the management at Stainsbridge House was excellent in getting her out of hospital and back in the caring environment.
Our mum moved into Stainsbridge House almost a year ago. From day one we were all treated with great respect. The manager is truly fantastic and has become a friend who we can trust completely with the wellbeing of our mum. During this first year, our mum has thrived. She is treated with dignity and has plenty of options to make her own decisions despite her Alzheimer's. Stainsbridge House is an old characterful building that is both homely and welcoming. We have never regretted our decision to place mum here.
My husband came in here in June 2018, originally for respite. Since then I decided that I am unable to care for him at home. I find the carers are excellent and always treat him with dignity. I have also found all the staff here very friendly, to me as well as my husband. There is an excellent cook who provides good nourishing meals. I have no complaints at all.
My mother has been in Stainsbridge House for over three years now. She is kept clean, comfortable, well looked after and as happy as can be considering her dementia.
My mother has been a resident at Stainsbridge House for over 2 years. At first, she was there with my father too. Stainsbridge House provided very good support during that time when my father died and afterwards. During this year there seemed to be a change in the home and level of care which was a concern. However, since the change of staff/manager, there has been a difference noticed when we have visited. Mum herself seems content and happy and overall her health is good. Atmosphere is calmer.
My wife has been a resident of Stainsbridge for two and a half years due to an advanced stage of dementia. She is very well cared for by the home. She is always clean, clothes are clean and she is well fed. She needs two nurses to hoist her out of bed, wash, shower and toilet, a nurse to feed her, etc. She is very confused, often speaks gibberish, thinks I am her father, all very sad from the lovely girl I married 41 years ago. I love her very much.
My brother has been a resident for two and a half years. He was made welcome and comfortable from the beginning and always said how kind and caring the staff are. He stayed for a week and was happy to move in the room straight away. He was impressed with the cleanliness of the room, enjoyed the quality and variety of the meals and always remarked how kind all the staff were. Since the deterioration of his dementia, I am impressed with his constant care.
My mother suffers from dementia. She has a replaced hip but is unable to walk more than a step or two without full support. She has always been treated with great respect, care and kindness. I am particularly grateful to the understanding staff and especially the manager of this home when my mother became ill and was hospitalised for a few days. They welcomed her back very quickly and even though she requires more help and care now, she has been encouraged and loved and is still smiling and feisty.
Excellent food and staff. The home is always clean and it feels more like a hotel than a care home. The owner is friendly, polite and responsible. The members of the staff are caring and polite. The activities are excellent. Beautiful garden! If I had Dementia I wouldn't mind living there.
Just want to say a big thank you to Stainsbridge staff - you do a wonderful job of caring for my mum. You are patient, caring and efficient. I've met many of the staff and all of you have been great with mum. I was particularly impressed with what you did to get her out of hospital after her fractured hip. Mum seems pretty content when I see her, particularly recently. I know that she can be quite a handful at times - feisty and combative! But you cope with all that. She certainly seems to enjoy the food. She gets great hair-dos. She clearly enjoys the sweetie trolley. All in all, I get the impression of a very well run/managed place, with great staff. So glad to have mum somewhere where she seems content and is so well looked after. THANK YOU!
